Eclipse News and…

Fear.net has managed to asked Ashley Greene about Alice Cullen’s role in Eclipse! Exclusive: Ashley Greene on ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ and Bullying Taylor Lautner
You got to tear off a vampire’s head in Twilight and face off with the Volturi in New Moon. What can you tell us about the things you get to do in Eclipse, which we know from the book will have more of a fighting element?
The thing I’ll say about Twilight is, one, it’s given me this Hollywood crash course and I’ve been able to work with three great directors. And also, my character is an incredible character to break out with because she’s perky and happy and sweet, and she’s this best friend character that everybody loves, so it’s an amazing first character to have. Throughout the series you’ve gotten to see her go from really sweet to kind of sassy, and now in the third one we get to showcase this massive fight sequence that I’m a part of, so we got to get our action star fix. You get to see Alice get kind of down and dirty and see a really intense side of her that maybe you haven’t seen before.
They also did an interview with Daniel Cudmore who plays Felix in New Moon. Exclusive: Daniel Cudmore on ‘New Moon,’ ‘Eclipse,’ and Fighting Rob Pattinson
In the books Felix seemed to have a sort of minor flirtation with Bella – winking at her, etc. What’s your take on that?
I think it’s more of him showing his power over her and kind of messing around with her head. Letting her know that he could end things very quickly. He enjoys that.Sadly, we don’t see much of the Volturi in New Moon because it serves as more of an introduction to their coven than in later books, when the Volturi have more of a presence. How much can we expect to see of you in Eclipse?
It’s not as much. You get to Eclipse and you’re introducing Riley’s storyline, Victoria coming back to get her vengeance. We’re still there and we still have a strong presence, and it’s not more dramatic but it’s still a really cool storyline.
Here an EXCLUSIVE: Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning on ‘Breaking Dawn’
FEARnet posed a similar question to Fanning, who plays the lead Volturi enforcer, Jane: Are you ready to portray a baby hunter? But Fanning, ever the professional, could not yet confirm her involvement in Breaking Dawn. “I don’t know if I’m going to be in it,” she demurred. Stewart turned to her. “You’re gonna be in the movie.”
While at ‘The Runaways’ premiere in NYC, Kristen talk more about her involvement in Breaking Dawm! Check it out here at Pop Sugar!
The Seattle Times has a Q&A Mellisa Rosenberg, the screen writer for Twilight, New Moon and the upcoming Eclipse!
Q: How closely did you work with Meyer?
A: With each movie, we’ve gotten closer. … On the first movie, I kept my process private. But then as I got to know her, I realized that was completely unnecessary, because she is incredibly collaborative, fluid and not precious about her work … With “New Moon,” she read all the drafts, but with “Eclipse,” I asked her to read the outline, which was very unusual. It’s very risky. It’s very early. That’s where I do a great deal of my work. … That’s when you’re structuring the story and deciding what’s in, what’s out, what’s invented, all that.

MTV Movies Blog has Kristen Stewart reminiscing about her FIRST ‘Twilight interview.
“That was the first time you asked me about ‘Twilight’!” Kristen smiled when we caught up last week at the “Handkerchief” junket. “I remember the interview! … You were like ‘So, what’s up with this [movie]?’ “Actually, she brought up the film. “The movie is called ‘Twilight,’ ” she said during that January 2008 encounter. “Catherine Hardwicke is directing it in Washington. It’s based on a book that’s pretty popular [among] young adult, high school kids.
Collider has just recently interviewed Kristen Stewart for The Yellow Handkerchief and there are also a couple of audio interviews from the rest of her co-stars.
Q: You made this film before Twilight. Is it hard to think back to that? Would you approach things differently now that you have this international profile?
KS: I guess because I don’t hold the reigns, really I follow, to put it absolutely lamely, my heart, I don’t think I would have made a different – - it would be really a shame if just because I did one movie, and I know it’s four or five or whatever, but it is one story. It’s one project for me. It’s the same character. It’s not like that changes, so if something like that would then affect choices, I don’t have this scheme of how people are going to receive my movies in the order that I do them and why I do scary movies and why I do movies about “disaffected teens,” which I get all the time. They’re just people I really wanted to play. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. I’m just playing parts that speak to me.

IT HAS been a hectic fortnight for Twilight trio Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart as they embarked on a worldwide tour promoting their wildy-anticipated movie, New Moon. You’ve seen Stephenie Meyer on Oprah. Examiner.com now has a write-up about the interview.
When she spoke about The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Meyer stated that she was most excited about the first scene she saw with the wolves. She said that the way that the film brought out the size and power of the wolves had her literally wanting to scream out loud with joy at the capture Chris Weitz had done with the picture.
She also revealed, exclusively to Oprah, the origins of the New Moon Volturi. She said that the New Moon story originally had a very tame and mild ending, but that her mother was the one to suggest a more action-oriented sequence near the end. This is, according to Stephenie Meyer’s revelation on Oprah, how the Volturi came to be.

Twilight News/New Moon News

We’re finally gonna be seeing Stephenie Meyer on TV/Youtube again!! Since last year’s explosion of Twilight, the much beloved author and creator of The Twilight Saga has not been seen doing any major TV interviews. But this year, we will and she’s doing it BIG – with none other than the Queen of Talk Shows herself – Oprah Winfrey.

YUP! Stephenie Meyer’s gonna be on Oprah!!
Oh btw! If you have any questions for her.. she’s inviting you to ASK!!
I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.
Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house. (Details about submitting the questions will be posted first thing Monday morning at TheTwilightSaga.com, you can also get more information below.)
I’m so very excited that you’ll all get to see New Moon in just two weeks! Then you’ll see what I’m going on about. Until then, think up some good questions for me.
Love,
Steph
I have a very good feeling about this interview. Oprah is gonna hit it off MASSIVELY with Stephenie!!
And betcha, the MIDNIGHT SUN questions will come up! No doubt about it!
Moving along….

We’ve posted about how Twilight boosted the economy of a small town called FORKS in September.
Now read USA Today’s article about how an ancient town called Volterra in Italy is welcoming tourists from all over the world within its walls because of New Moon.

To capitalize on New Moon's popularity, the Volterra tourism board sponsors Twilight-themed weekends that include a reception with "blood."
Backpackers carrying battered copies of New Moon duck through the narrow alleyways of the walled city, which has about 12,000 residents. Souvenir shops hawk calendars, mugs and T-shirts bearing the tousled likeness of actor Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward in the films.
And whether fans are Team Edward or Team Jacob (Bella’s two love interests in New Moon), all want to visit the Piazza dei Priori, the town’s square anchored by a clock tower where the Volturi — a coven of elite vampires that plays a pivotal role in the upcoming movie — reside.
Kunke, 19, found Volterra on a map as soon as she read New Moon. “I was like, I have to go there,” says the native of Portland, Ore. “It was just one of those things I had to do.”
Long overshadowed by its more touristy Tuscan neighbor, San Gimignano, Volterra is capitalizing on the interest. The tourism office has created a themed map of the city, encouraged fan meet-ups, and this spring introduced a New Moon weekend package that includes a walking tour called “Hot on the Trail of Edward and Bella,” Twilight merchandise and even a dramatic re-enactment of one of the book’s scenes.”

I just finished watching Enchanted on Star Movies (Starhub – Ch 58) and this quote came out on the screen together with the voice we love so much:
“What if I’m not the hero, what if I’m the bad guy?”

TwilightPoison has translated the Exclusive Cinemania (Mexican magazine) Interview with Robert Pattinson.
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ for Robert Pattinson fans.

More scans of the magazine here!
It couldn’t be any other way: seductive stare, pale skin, innocent little smile, ethereal attitude, all make them seem like he’s not from this planet, or this time at least. It’s not so hard to imagine why he’s a vampire that can make anyone fall in love with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s kind, he has a great sense of humour and he likes to laugh at himself. Plus, he has nice style: tight black pants, white shirt with black stripes. It’s not strange to see why there’s hundreds of girls waiting for him outside our tent in Cannes film festival. Some of them are screaming from a terrace, screaming as though they could lose their lives without an actor’s smile or autograph.
… “I can say that the weirdest scene we shot was shot at a High School in Canada. When we got there, there were still plenty of students taking class, and I had to be floating around the place. It was weird, because the scene was very complicated. There was a feeling that I can’t really describe yet (laughs). I think, in general, this sequel will be much more complex, deeper and it will make my character have another dimension..” he assured us.
But there won’t only be transformations in this sequel, Pattinson himself has experienced a change in the way he approaches this territory. “When we were filming Twilight, I used to say that it made me nervous being around so many people of the crew. However, it was weird how this feeling changed in New Moon. It maybe has to do with getting used to what it means being on such a large set, and, in general, a super production. I was surprised at how relaxed I was the entire time, honestly. Which is not a normal thing for me. I felt very confident for the first time, I really understood the sense of the movie, where Chris wanted to take it and what we wanted to tell, the emotions, the mood, everything behind Edward.
“I learned a lot in Twilight, and I never realized until I came back for the sequel. That’s when I discovered the new tools I had acquired. For instance, the things that worried me the most were no longer important. You lose the fear of messing up, you learn to try new techniques, and that’s great. You earn new confidence as an actor, and more freedom as well. I hope this is a process that never stops.
“Now I understand why, with years, better roles come to you. You need a lot of experience to capture emotions with the camera and make the filming yours. But I think I’m on the right path. There’s still a lot for me to learn, though…”, he says.
But it’s not just about a new level of experience, it’s a new emotional level as well. This vampire seems to have changed Rob’s life, and it’s something that you will be able to tell in the actual movie, according to the actor. “Of course that another new thing that happened is that I felt much closer to my character. It’s amazing the amount of emotions that you can connect with when you know more about him. This gives you more intuition and you’re more natural. It’s like you’re beginning to decipher everything in his mind and act almost instinctively. Getting into a role as intense as this it’s an incredible process. You never imagine what will wake up inside of you until you perform it and make it your own”.
“To me, films are very much like life, and relationships. Sometimes you don’t know how to find the right person. But at least you’re sure about what you’re not interested in. The same happens with scripts and stories (laughs). There’s projects that almost immediately you know they’re for you and that you’ll be able to them naturally, and others that you try to imagine and you know they are not for you. Does it sound familiar?” he asks me.
And this brings us to very important territory in this actor’s life, because at 23 he has managed to placed himself under every spotlight in the world. But here comes the best part: planning his own career, “I haven’t stopped working this year and I’m involved in many different projects outside of Twilight and New Moon. I can tell you that most of the characters that I’ve chosen and every role that you’ll see me in the future, have a very personal orientation, because these are stories that I felt I had to do. Don’t ask me why, I just knew! But the truth is, I have no plans, and I’m not following a strategy either. I just try to be faithful to what my heart tells me, and that’s it.
“I think that in this sense, I dream about things that every actor dreams of: doing things that I’m passionate about, and things that I can feel proud of, which sounds very simple, but it’s hard to get because in the film industry there will always be little factors that don’t depend on you”.
… It’s surprising the maturity in which Robert Pattinson has taken this role, and how he handles his personal life. The truth is, the star doesn’t want to stop getting excited and feeling. Just like any teenager, “I’m someone who is very happy with the most simple things in life. My friends are very important to me, as is my family and the people I love in general. I love music, films, going out for a drink and have fun. Everyday, normal things, but that I live with passion. And of course, I keep working to develope myself even more. I trust that this will happen. It doesn’t have to be different. When you work for what you want to and you give all your heart to it, everything comes in its own time. You have to trust life” he ends as he plays with his hair and he waits for us to stop recording to say goodbye with a kiss.

Wanna see the outtakes of Robert’s photo shoot for Vanity Fair (December 2009 Issue) by photographer Bruce Weber??

Read the complete interview in the print edition of Vanity Fair’s December 2009 – Evgenia Peretz on Robert Pattinson.
Rather than working his way through supermodels, Pattinson, who’s been living out of three suitcases for the past year, has been feeling overwhelmed, self-conscious, and guilty. “I’m trying not to drown,” he says in his hotel room at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, which is littered today with beer bottles, old scrambled eggs, a half-eaten Twix bar, and a dirty pair of jeans on the living-room floor. And he notices that he hasn’t made his bed. “Oh, God. Sorry about that.”
Lastly, SplashNews has a video of Robert Pattinson’s arrival at Narita Airport, Tokyo yesterday.

Anne Rice on Twilight, True Blood and her new book, Angel Time:
On the Vampire Phenomenon:
I think it’s wonderful fun. Now that I don’t write the Vampire Chronicles I feel free to enjoy it. I really enjoy the HBO series “True Blood.” When I was writing my own, I wouldn’t have wanted to be influenced.
On Twilight:
No, I haven’t read any of the Twilight Series, but I did see the film. I felt that it reflected the deep desire of young women to have the mystery and protection and wisdom of older men. I think many girls mature much earlier than boys, and they are frustrated when they approach young boys for love or protection. Hence the fantasy of a wise and protective vampire coming into the life of a young girl who, of course, appreciates him in a special way.

WOOT!! The Twilight Saga series is helping out the US economy? Or at least Hot Topic?? Check out the Forbes.com report.
The apparel based on the “Twilight” hit book and movie series about teenage vampires had helped Hot Topic post big gains in sales late last year and earlier this year while other retailers struggled.
“New Moon” merchandise will be in stores in early October, said William Blair analyst Sharon Zackfia in a note to investors. However, August sales trends are “lackluster,” she wrote, and Hot Topic is facing increasingly difficult sales comparisons from last year, especially during October, when it will release “New Moon” apparel and accessories.
…Products from New Moon is the second movie in the Twilight series, is scheduled to land in stores in early October, two months later than last year. We very much believe in the strength of New Moon, but are also realistic in our sales forecast given the later start and the wider distribution of product.…So we will have accessories at the launch this time around versus flowing it in after the apparel and the last year we were still waiting to see how the apparel was going to do.…The difference between this year and last year is that we were pretty much on your own last year as far as carrying Twilight in most of the other retailers and many consumers did not catch onto the twilight craze until we moved through certainly the movie and then peeking at the DVD release as well.
…As far as Twilight is concerns, I think the line is pretty good. I think that everybody learned from last year what the product is that sells, what it is with that particular customer wants. There is great interest in Jacob who is the other guy, with the guy in Twilight (err His name is Edward, maam
), Jacob IS the guy in New Moon. We’re starting to see that ramp up quite a bit. So I think we’re very encouraged by certainly the buzz that’s happen about New Moon.
I also see that just historically the second movie of a series is always stronger than the first. The third and the fourth, not so good, but I think that a lot of teens and their mothers didn’t catch the Twilight fever until very late in the season. Perhaps they caught it either right before the movie came out or they caught it after the movie came out when the press was going crazy about it. So, I think more people are keyed up to jump on this at the very beginning and then throughout the season. So I feel good about that.
When asked about the possibility of the New Moon mall tour?
We’re working on that right now. We don’t have anything to announce, but obviously the cast will be out on the road they will be doing it internationally this year as well, last year was really domestic, but this is an international phenomenon now, so it will be split between both domestic tour dates and international tour dates. So, right now we’re in the process of figuring out that calendar.
Wonder how good the New Moon merchandise will do this year and who can rival Hot Topic for the fans’ m0oolah?! We will see! .. OooOh Any Asian dates in that tour?
Fancy going to the States to attend a Twilight Convention during your next holidays?? Read full article here.

[UPDATED] Twilight News – Teens Choice Awards 2009!
Catherine Hardwicke tells us that Bryce Dallas Howard was given the opportunity to be in Twilight but somehow she rejected it at that point of time:
“I know we originally asked Bryce Dallas Howard to do the first movie, but she thought it was too small a part at the time,” says Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke at the Teen Choice Awards taping yesterday.
Catherine has this to say about how much Rob/Kristen lives has been publizised all over:
“they’re both such Indie spirits and so independent and I feel bad for all the craziness.” “They’re really artists, you know, and they really like making beautiful art.”
On the other hand, Taylor Lautner, as usual appreciates his fans for being so supportive in this fandom:
[UPDATE] In our first Teens Choice Award 09 post, I mentioned that Twilight won 9 awards. Well, scrap that! Here’s the latest:
The adolescent vampire drama dominated Sunday’s ceremony with 11 wins, including choice movie drama, romance, liplock, rumble and soundtrack. Kristen Stewart won the movie drama actress category while Robert Pattinson picked up two surfboard-shaped trophies — one for movie drama actor, another for male hottie.
“We’ll see you guys in theaters November 20th,” co-star Taylor Lautner teased the squealing crowd.
Lautner and Ashley Greene, who will appear alongside Stewart and Pattinson in the upcoming “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” were honored as the male and female movie fresh faces while Cam Gigandet was crowned movie villain. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke joined the cast on stage to accept the adaptation’s pack of trophies.

At noon PST today, the actress will launch an ebay charity auction—including t-shirts and other Twilight merchandise signed by the whole cast—to raise funds for School On Wheels, a charity that provides educational opportunities to homeless kids in Southern California. “I will not be deducting anything (ebay listing fees, additional shipping costs or store management fees) from the donation,” Lefevre tells us exclusively. “100% of the money raised will go to the charity.” Lefevre has also joined the fight against breast cancer—for every 10,000 people who sign up to follow her on Twitter, she’s donating $100 to Susan G. Komen for The Cure.
