Eclipse News

Oww.. I miss the Farmer’s Market in LA – especially the foodstalls. And Gelsons!

Its such a cool place and Radaronline went there for Christmas shopping with Julia Jones recently. They  managed to fit in an Eclipse interview as well!

Radaronline has the exclusive video interview.

Ashley Greene talked to ET during her photoshoot for Teen PROM Magazine. She revealed the action that we can look forward to Eclipse!

MTV’s Hollywood crush was also at the magazine photoshoot and has these photos.

The “New Moon” star is gracing the cover of the magazine in an elegant purple dress with a bow and embroidery in the front, for a feature story spotlighting her role as spokesperson for DonateMyDress.org, a charity which distributes used prom dresses to underprivileged teens. In the issue, Ashley shares her prom story and dishes out some good advice for the big night. Of course, she also manages to sneak in a few “Twilight” bits.

The actress, who is no doubt busy prepping to reprise her role as Alice Cullen in “Eclipse,” the next installment in the “Twilight” series, got involved with DonateMyDress.org because of her own experience trying to save up for prom.

For the full report, read here.

We’ve got more from MTV’s Interview with Bryce Dallas Howard about Eclipse.

“There’s quite an extraordinary finale,” Howard told MTV News of the scene that took weeks of intense fight training to prepare for. “That was very fun to do.”

“The producers were saying it’s the biggest spectacle filmed thus far in this franchise,” she said. “There’s a newborn army that’s been raised for battle. It’s a true battle scene.”

New Moon News

New Moon Lights The Way to stardom for Ashley Greene:

New Moon star Ashley Greene is still getting a grip on her rise to fame — but with a full slate of upcoming projects, she’s making sure her career extends beyond vampires and werewolves.

“Instantly we have this fan base, instantly we have these careers and people know who we are,” says the actress, 22, who likened the rush to “instant happiness. … People now actually care about what projects I’m in.”

Greene was 17 when she moved to Los Angeles from Florida after graduating high school a semester early, and now, after being cast as prescient vampire Alice Cullen in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance series, Greene’s visibility has skyrocketed. In addition to the release of Twilight: Eclipse June 30, Greene has two additional wrapped films under her belt.

Way to go Ashley! :D

New Moon News

Rob talks about stealing on the set, crashing the green Porsche while in LA and the character he would love to play in New Moon:

Thank you Cullen News!

Meanwhile Entertainment Weekly sits down with Tish Monaghan – the Costume Designer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse as well. If you’re interested to know more about the fashion behind New Moon, check out the interview:

Why couldn’t he (Edward) remain shirtless for the indoor fight scene? Why put on the robe?
Originally, the guards who grab him were supposed to be coming from the outside — that’s why they give him the robe. But the setting was changed, and they grab him on the inside. So why do they hand him this robe? Because, quite honestly, it looks very cool fighting with this long, flowing garment, and it does hide pads, protect him.

Last question: What can you tease about the costumes in Eclipse?
We go back to the 1700s and do a complete Quileute tribe. I had to go to museums and pour over clothing that was dug up from burial sites, and I went into diaries of sailors to read what their first encounters were with the Indians on the Pacific Northwest coast. Then we did vampires from the Civil War era, then we did the 1930s, then we did our contemporary world, then we did fantasy Volturi flying over on a jet to Forks, Washington. Then we did an army of vampire newborns. It’s pretty cool stuff.

Next, how about reading up on this interview from San Francisco Chronicle with Phil Tippet (picture below), the Special Effects Innovator for The Twilight Saga: New Moon:

Q: Which movie had tighter security on the set, “Return of the Jedi” or “New Moon”?

A: For “Return of the Jedi,” I was totally oblivious to all the fandom. I didn’t notice anything, and most of the work was done on pretty secured sets. For “New Moon,” it was unbelievable.

It was like a CIA operation. Some of the locations we would go to, the production would be so concerned about fooling the paparazzi, they would take the arrows pointing to the location and turn them the other way. We were actually getting lost.

Q: Did you do much wolf-related research for the movie?

A: We nailed it down early that these were not going to be traditional beast-y horror movie things. … We watched a lot of documentaries and looked at every single picture book out there on wolves.

My co-supervisor, Matt Jacobs, took a bunch of the art department and animators to a wolf preserve outside of Los Angeles. They got into a pen about the size of this room with about 10 wolves and just spent the afternoon with them.

“From ghosties and goblins and things that go bump in the night, oh Lord protect us!” So goes the old prayer.

But who’s going to protect us from the latest worldwide outbreak of Vampires? They’re everywhere!

Most inescapably, in the “Twilight” movies, based on Stephanie Meyer’s phenomenally successful novels.

At last count, she’s sold 85 million copies worldwide. The latest movie, “New Moon”, is expected to be a blockbuster catapulting its young English star, Robert Pattinson, to a level of fame as unbelievable as the plot is far-fetched.

And, as Charles Wooley found this week, no one is more surprised and bemused than the young vampire himself.

Catherine Hardwicke reveals details of Rob & Kristen’s First Kiss. Watch the video from Access Hollywood.

New Moon News (Updated)

Pattinson Online UK has an exclusive interview with Robert Pattinson!! They were invited by Summit Entertainment to the press junket and the best part – ROB Thank them personally for great job on the website!! So exciting for them!

[EDITED- NEW VIDEO ADDED 13/11] Without further to do here’s the video of their interview. Pattinson Online will provide a transcript of the interview soon.

[Update 10NOV] EDIT: The admin of (Pattinson Online UK) have received an opportunity to further edit the video in a smoother manner and so have decided to pull the vid until we can release a better version. You won’t have to wait long….we promise!

TimesOnline.co.uk has a pretty extensive and long article about Robert Pattinson : Trapped in the Twilight Zone .

The article doesn’t really cover much about Rob but more on the Twilight phenomenon as a whole and how it has affected people. Check it out!

On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks. Instead he lives in danger of being trampled in a stampede of teen love. He plays the vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, the biggest books-to-screen phenomenon since Harry Potter — in which, by the way, Pattinson was Cedric Diggory, heroic golden boy and victim of Voldermort. Boy, his life has changed since Hogwarts.

“It’s been a little frightening,” he laughs, a sort of embarrassed chuckle that punctuates his conversation, the sound of someone negotiating the best bit of luck they have ever had, not wanting to sound arrogantly blasé or overexcited. “In England no-one had heard of the series when I went for the audition, so it has been a total, utter surprise. The change to my everyday life is so extreme. Before this I was used to working 10 days a year. Originally, I did a three-picture deal, but I wasn’t even really thinking about that… I had no idea that I’d still be working on it now.”

Does the poor boy, who still calls London home, feel he has to hide? “I tend to stay in the hotel because it’s highly publicised where I’m staying all the time. There’s always a bunch of people outside. I can’t really be in LA now at all. It’s not that the fans are threatening, but the paparazzi follow me all night.” This hounding can evoke an absurd sympathy, considering the kid’s fortune and prospects. But then he brightens, telling me he was buying a guitar the other day and had to spell his name 12 times, and the guy still didn’t twig. “I loved that. It was my fault — I wasn’t speaking loud enough.”

Indeed, the Twilight books are a moralist’s charter, an advertisement for abstinence under duress. Bella might be seized by an obsession with Edward’s “liquid topaz eyes” and an “overpowering craving to touch him”, but essentially this is a narrative about good kids not having sex. In Northampton, Sarah, a Twi-mum chaperoning her 12-year-old daughter, says: “It was her birthday, so I thought why not? There is not a lot of sex, none until the last book… and they do get married. When they go away on honeymoon it’s all very discreet.” Uber-fan Katie, by contrast, did not welcome the consummation after the most drawn-out of all literary foreplay. “I really hated it, actually,” she says. “I felt I knew the characters so well, I didn’t want to intrude on such a personal thing.”

Entire article here.

Gossip Cop has a very interesting article about Kristen Stewart & The Media

“I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” Stewart told the magazine, going on to point out that people seem to assume that the choice to become an actor erases one’s right to privacy. Then Stewart gave the comments headlined around the world, “There’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other. Think about every hypothetical situation: ‘Okay, we are. We aren’t. I’m a lesbian.’ I’m just trying to keep something.”

Smart and media savvy, Stewart knew which word would rock the blogosphere.

And it did.

While it’s surprising that the majority of outlets actually took the time to read two paragraphs and understand the comments’ context, the fact that these same outlets used Stewart’s plea to leave her personal life alone as just another opportunity to keep it in the news cycle is all too predictable.

Of course blogs are going to run with the “lesbian” headline. Few words will grab more eyes. If those eyes happen to read enough of the article to understand Stewart was joking, great. If not – well, they don’t care. They got you to click.

We’ve seen the paparazzi’s destructive behavior with Pattinson, Stewart, and dozens of other young celebrities. We’ve seen the relationship between stars and the people who cover them deteriorate. We see increasingly antagonistic bloggers turning otherwise charismatic actors and actresses into pin cushions less willing to open up when it is appropriate and when they do feel comfortable.

And when someone like Stewart speaks out like she did, sites miss the point and keep stoking speculation.

New Moon News – Press Junket Taylor Lautner Interview

New Moon News (Updated)

Yeah! Taylor Lautner’s Interview from the press junket has been posted! Yesterday you guys read The Twilight Saga: New Moon Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Interview.

Tonight we have Taylor’s. Thanks to Christina Radish of iesb.net for transcribing the interview! Still looking for the audio footage though. We’ll update here once found. :) Thanks a heap to TwilightXchange/KStewart fans for the picture!!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Interview with Taylor Lautner

twilightxchangeTaylor

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is sure to shine the spotlight on actor Taylor Lautner, way more so than he received for his performance in Twilight. Even though legions of fans already love him for being a part of the first film, New Moon showcases his talents as Jacob Black, the werewolf vying for the affections of best friend Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), while her vampire love is gone.

The personable and gracious 17-year-old is soaking up all of the extraordinary experiences being a part of this film franchise has brought him and is taking it all in stride, as he prepares for the release of New Moon. At the film’s press day, Taylor Lautner talked about proving his ability to convincingly portray the transformation of Jacob Black.

Q: Did it ever feel like you were really in danger of not getting the role in this movie?

Taylor: Honestly, I knew where my character went in New Moon and that’s all I tried to stay focused on. I couldn’t control things outside. I couldn’t control the media. But, I could control what I was doing to portray Jacob Black correctly. That’s what I stayed focused on, the whole entire time.

Q: Did that start with going to the gym and gaining 30 lbs?

Taylor: Absolutely. Jacob transforms a lot in New Moon, not only physically. but mentally and emotionally as well. So, it was a matter of getting to the gym and eating the right food, and a lot of it. But, it was also about reading and studying the book and the character, over and over and over again, so I could have his character down as well because he changes in many, many different ways

Q: How does he change?

Taylor: Basically, my job was to continue what I started in Twilight, which was this extremely happy, friendly, outgoing guy, who is best friends with Bella. I had to continue that for the first half of the film, but as soon as he transforms, he snaps and becomes a completely different person. He’s dealing with his issues and it’s really hard for him.

Q: You have a lot of opportunities in the film to show off your new physique, like when Jacob takes off his t-shirt to wipe Bella’s blood.

Taylor: I start laughing so hard, every time I see that scene. “You’re bleeding? Okay, let me fix it.” It’s so embarrassing. Here’s the thing: there’s a reason that he’s not wearing clothes, all the time. One, when he transforms, all his clothes get shredded. He can’t help it. And, when he goes into the woods to get something to put on, so that he’s not naked, it’s just a ripped pair of jean shorts. He’s also hot. He’s 108 degrees. So, that’s another reason. The thing is, I love this character and story, and putting on the weight and not wearing much clothing was required by the role. A year from now, if I love a story and I love a character that requires me to lose 40 lbs, I’m ready to do it.

Q: How freeing was it to get rid of Jacob’s wig?
Taylor: It was very freeing. I’d look at myself in the mirror and I wouldn’t even be able to recognize myself. It was so weird just to see that hair on me. It was also very itchy, hot and annoying. And, it slowed down the filming process. Whenever it got caught in my eye or whatever, we’d have to cut and start over. It got caught in my mouth and I’d be spitting hair out in the middle of the scene. I’m coming this close to kissing Bella and I’d have to spit my hair out. It was annoying.

We actually had a picture wrap on the wig. The crew claps for you at the end of shooting. My last day of filming with the wig, we ripped it off, held it up in the air and were like, “That’s a picture wrap on Taylor’s wig.” The whole crew gave it  a standing ovation. It was amazing. It was great to chop that thing off.

Q: Who else are you close to?

Taylor: I wouldn’t be able to pick one.  If I were to start, I’d end up listing the whole cast. I do spend a lot of time with Kristen because all my scenes are involved with her, so Kristen and I are very close. I guess I’m close with Rob, too, ’cause we spend a lot of time together as well. But, the great thing about this series is that the whole entire cast is so close, and it would be a nightmare if we weren’t. It would be impossible to make this series because the characters are so tight. So, we’re really thankful that we all get along so well.

Q: What has it been like working in Vancouver, Canada?

Taylor: Canada is great. I’ve spent a while there. I’ve spent six months out of this year. The first time we were there, it was really rainy, dark and cloudy. It was snowing. That was difficult weather-wise. But, it’s just one of the most beautiful cities and I’m definitely going to miss it  a lot.

Q: How was it to film Eclipse? What can you say about that film?

Taylor: Filming Eclipse was beautiful. Eclipse was my favorite book, so I was really excited to start filming the movie. I just love that it’s the height of the love triangle. Twilight develops Edward and Bella’s relationship, New Moon develops Jacob and Bella’s, and in Eclipse the three of them are physically together. It has one of my favorite scenes ever, in that movie. The tent scene, where Edward is forced, and I guess it was a choice of his, to let me sleep in the same sleeping bag as Bella, just so she doesn’t die, because she’s shivering to death and I’m warm. I’m the only thing, at that moment, that can keep her alive. It’s a funny scene. There’s a lot of ribbing going on between Jacob and Edward. It’s going to be a really good movie and visually stunning.  David Slade is incredible visually.

Q: In the movie, Jacob speaks Spanish to Bella. Do you speak any Spanish at all, and are you going to speak more Spanish in Eclipse?

Taylor: I don’t speak much Spanish. I took it in school, but that was about it. I think it’s just Jacob’s personality. He’s really outgoing and he’s random. It definitely doesn’t have anything to do with his character. It’s just the fact that he’s friendly and you never know what to expect.

I didn’t speak any Spanish in Eclipse. That was a bummer. But, at the end of this one I did speak a little bit of Quileute, when I was leaning in to kiss her in the kitchen. I’m not gonna tell you what I said. I’ll leave that to you to figure out. But, it was really cool. There’s only like four people left in the world that actually speak Quileute, and we were able to talk to one of these ladies. It was really interesting.

New Moon News – Interview with the Volturis

New Moon News (Updated)

MoviesOnline’s Sheila Roberts has caught up with the Vampires of the Volturis ;)

The Volturi

We caught up with all the members of the Volturi and got to talk about them about their new film New Moon. Those who participated in the interview are as follows;: Michael Sheen (Aro), Jamie Campbell Bower (Caius), Dakota Fanning (Jane) and Cameron Bright (Alec).

The Twilight Saga: New Moon marks the first appearance of the Volturi, the closest the vampire world has to royalty and a major force in the future of the saga. Centuries old and unimaginably powerful, they serve as lawmakers and enforcers for the community. The leader of the group is Aro, played by Michael Sheen. Sheen is no stranger to this world, having played a werewolf enslaved by the vampires in the Underworld series.

Q: Dakota, as such a fan of the series, you’ve said in many interviews before that you were really excited about this so what were the highlights of playing Jane and do you get to do more in the next movie?

Dakota Fanning: I think the highlight of playing Jane was getting to wear that costume and to have the red contact lenses — I was really excited about that – and getting to play an evil character. The next movie I already finished doing, Eclipse, and it’s about the same. It’s still not very much in the movie.

Q: What did you think when you saw yourself for the first time with the red lenses in?

Dakota Fanning: I know. It’s really scary. I think it makes anyone look automatically evil. But yeah, it was really fun. You get used to them after a while. You can see pretty good, but it’s still kind of weird.

Q: Michael, I wanted to know what you were saying into that tape recorder, but secondly, I wanted to know about you finding your voice. You mentioned the Blue Meanie. Did it take you a while to come up with that or was that kind of an instant thought when you read the script?

Michael Sheen: No, it was from Stephenie in the book. She describes Aro as having a voice like feathers, so that made me think about what would it sound like if someone had a voice like feathers. And then, as I was starting to play around with it, I reminded myself a little bit ofthe Blue Meanie. You remember the Blue Meanie in Yellow Submarine and the hand that goes with it? And then I was also thinking about characters from when I was a kid watching stuff that really freaked me out andthe Blue Meanie really freaked me out. The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – you know, “Lollipops” and all that. I liked the idea of a character who on the surface appears to be very friendly and thinks of himself as just being a sentimental old fool, a romantic at heart, and then he wants to eat your eyes. I liked that sort of idea so that was where Aro came from. And what I said into thetape recorder is between me and whoever owns that tape recorder. [Laughter]

Q: Jamie, can you tell us and describe what the Volturi are for the group?

Jamie Campbell Bower: We are basically the vampire government, I guess. We’re there to sort of keep all the vampires in check. People keep describing us as evil. I wouldn’t say we’re evil necessarily. We’re the government and not everybody likes the government, which is fine. So, we’re there to keep everybody in check. Without us, like you were saying earlier, it would turn into complete anarchy. It would be vampire anarchy. So we’re there to keep the Cullens in check in particular. There’s me and Michael and Chris Heyerdahl who plays Marcus, Aro and Caius respectively, and we sit on these big thrones and then there’s you (Dakota) and Charlie (Bewley) and Dan (Cudmore). They’re our runners effectively.

Michael Sheen: It’s quite thrilling to have Dakota Fanning calling you “monster”.

Q: Let’s just pretend that you could be the vampire government when the cameras stopped rolling also. With you on set, out of the cast would you have to punish any bad pranksters or jokers there?

Jamie Campbell Bower: I’d like to punish Chris Heyerdahl – not sexually. That sounded a bit naughty, didn’t it?

Cameron Bright: The way they talk on set, it would sound like it wasn’t. They talk hilarious to each other. I don’t know. That’s kind of weird – who would we want to punish – one of the random guards standing in the background of the shot.

Michael Sheen: You could punish Chris Weitz for some truly awful jokes now and again. On the whole, not really, no, they’re all a very sweet bunch, very law abiding. They wouldn’t [inaudible].

Q: So now that you’ve entered into this Twihard machine for fans, how has that been for you, and also, were you obsessed with anything when you were growing up as much as fans are obsessed with this?

Michael Sheen: I haven’t really experienced much of the Twilight fan stuff yet. But, I did go into a store in L.A. to buy a pair of jeans and I went into the little cubicle to try my jeans on. It’s always a quite nerve-wracking time when I come out of the cubicle to look in the mirror anyway and I like that to be a private moment. As I came out, there was a woman shaking, going “You’re Aro, aren’t you?!” and I just hid in my cubicle again. Whooo! Anyway, I’m slightly to the right of where you are. [Laughter] That’s been really my only experience with that. Apart from also going into my daughter’s bedroom and seeing — she’s just got pictures from Twilight and New Moon everywhere — and seeing my own little picture which I think she did out of pity. [Laughter] Have Dad up there as well. That was quite a ball [bore?].

New Moon News (Updated)

This is new – SNL Parody with Taylor Swift. LOL!

If you can’t watch the embedded video above, try this one:

Twilight fansites interviewed Alex Meraz and Edi Gathegi. You can read the full interview at Twilight Lexicon. Here’s an extract:

Q: I wanted to know, now Edi you play someone that’s actually a bad guy, and then Alex you’re playing someone who’s kind of misunderstood but comes across as mean, and I was wondering where you guys draw that energy from to come across that way on film?

Laurent

Edi: Well if Alex’s character is misunderstood, then I want my character to be misunderstood. [Laughs] My character is a vampire, and they eat people, and he wants to eat Bella, and that doesn’t make him a bad guy.
[Alex laughs.]

Edi: He’s just, he’s just doing what nature intended him to do, and it’s actually … he’s not apologetic but he’s explaining, you know, why he must do what he has to do. And I think that’s interpreted as being the evil and bad because the heroes of our stories are vegetarians.

Paul

Alex: Which is funny because here’s two characters that both try to kill Bella, so that’s pretty good.

Edi: Yeah, your character tries to go after her …

Alex: … but my character, I think he has a sense of pride, you know? For his culture, for the land … and he just does whatever it takes to protect the land, and when Bella – at first, when I turn to try to kill her – she’s just an outsider. I don’t think she belongs there, and she’s bringing nothing but trouble so it’s just a thick sense of pride that’s really what Paul feels.
