BREAKING DAWN NEWS – CAST MEMBERS TAKING ALL ABOUT BREAKING DAWN!!

First up Kristen Stewart on MTV Rough Cut talking about “Welcome To the Rileys”, “On The Road” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” in a great 10 minute Interview!!

Thanks To Rachel for this!

Breaking Dawn News – Melissa Rosenberg talks about ‘enourmous challenge to choreograph’ the final battle scene

“The final battle sequence is a big challenge because it lasts 25 pages,” Rosenberg told us. “It’s almost an entire three-act story in and of itself. You have to track (kept all in one setting) hundreds of characters. It’s an enormous challenge to choreograph on the page and for Bill to choreograph on the stage.”

Finally a bit of of news to quell our Twilight News Drought!

Did you guys watch the Emmys this morning?? I think the Glee cast won a few. I was busy watching my Kings of Leon Bonnaroo Fuse TV videos. Anyways, in the midst of all the ceremony  – Melissa Rosenberg the sreenwriter for the Twilight Saga movies WHO IS ALSO the producer/writer for the ShowTime’s Dexter – made an appearance on the Emmys 2010 Red Carpet and gave us much needed updates on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn!

Yay! & Thanks to MTV NEWS for sussing her out for us Twilight fans!!

(FYI – Dexter only won 02 Emmys.. woohoooo Go DEXTER!!!)

She says that

1)Breaking Dawn will be shot on island somewhere in Brazil – talking about Isle Esme.

2) The Final Battle Scene for Breaking Dawn that covers 25 pages in book is gonna be EPIC (as it should be ;) )

3) Edward & Bella’s Honeymoon scene – ‘closed set’ ?? ie is gonna be racier than the books?

Rosenberg went on to say that perfecting that scene is her “next big hurdle.”

“I’ve written a couple of drafts [of the scene]; I haven’t gotten with Bill [to go over it] yet. That’s the next big hurdle to sit down with the stunt coordinator and create the ballet.”

Breaking Dawn News – Melissa Rosenberg speaks of the challenges in writing Breaking Dawn’s script

MTV News has another update with Melissa Rosenberg talking about the Breaking Dawn script.

As all die-hard “Twilight” fans know, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is still hard at work on finalizing the scripts for the two-part “Breaking Dawn” finale, the first of which is scheduled to begin shooting in November. MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with the “Dexter” and “Twilight” screenwriter at San Diego Comic-Con, where she held court on a “Girls Gone Genre” panel. And while she still won’t reveal where the two films will break, she did give us a few details about the birthing scene and the “Book of Jacob,” as well as some dish on how she plans to handle all of the new characters Stephenie Meyer introduces in “Dawn.”

“It’s extremely challenging to introduce those new characters because you already have quite a slew of characters to service,” Rosenberg admitted of Meyer’s final book. “The Cullen family is large, the wolf family is large, you have three leads … finding room for all of them is a challenge. For me, it is about pulling forward the ones that are essential and really making sure they have a presence.”

Naturally, Rosenberg didn’t say specifically which characters would or would not appear in the films, but simply that she hopes “all of them will be there in one shape or another.”

Fans interested in checking in more frequently with Rosenberg’s “Dawn” progress can check out her Facebook page, which Rosenberg told us she checks regularly to see what Twi-hards are saying and involve them in plotline discussions.

“I ask people to really weigh in with what are their favorite scenes in the books, what’s important to them,” Rosenberg said. “And there generally seems to be a consensus about one scene or another. It’s really helpful for me and I’ll interact with them sometimes.”

Breaking Dawn – Fresh Blood for the Twilight cast & MR talking abt Breaking Dawn Script

Here’s Fresh Blood by Eels for you to listen as you read this post! ;) Hope you guys like it.

E!Online has reported that a possible new cast member for Breaking Dawn to fill the role of Garrett – big shoes to fill especially with that HUGE speech he has to do before the battle.

And the top runner to play Garret is this guy.

Recognize him?

Yup! That’s him! He’s the ‘pie-maker’ in “Pushing Daisies” with the ‘killer touch’ and his name is Lee Pace.

The character is described in the script as a tall, nomadic vampire with sandy hair that he keeps tied back with a leather thong. Garrett is also penned as being down-to-earth, laid-back, rugged and having a lightness and element of humor about him.

“Lee is the top person in the running to play Garrett in Breaking Dawn,” a source tells E! News.

As we all know, Bill Condon is directing both Breaking Dawn films, and according to our insider, is “hoping to take it in a more artsy direction.”

Just as long as it’s not a musical, eh?

Eclipse News

MTV has an update about the Official Soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse!

They’re saying it’ll be released on June 8th!

The release date was first posted Monday (April 19) morning on Amazon.com, and subsequently confirmed to MTV News by a spokesperson for Atlantic Records, which will be releasing the soundtrack in conjunction with music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas’ Chop Shop Records.

No official announcement has been made about just who will be appearing on the soundtrack to “Eclipse” (the film itself hits theaters on June 30), but some reports on “Twilight” fansites have already penciled author Stephenie Meyer-faves Muse onto the album, which makes sense because they’ve already appeared on the first two editions of the “Twlight” soundtracks.

The spokesperson for Atlantic would not confirm any of the artists scheduled to appear, but said a press release on the soundtrack is forthcoming.

The “Eclipse” soundtrack definitely has some big shoes to fill. The 2008 soundtrack to “Twilight” featured a pair of new songs from Paramore, plus tunes from Linkin Park, Perry Farrell, and star Robert Pattinson, and was a massive success, debuting at #1 on the Billboard albums chart and selling more than 2 million copies.

We reported earlier last month that according to an MTV report MUSE will not be doing the Eclipse soundtrack even when they’ve already written songs for it.

BUT recently, Twilighters Anonymous has this exclusive that looks to refute that report!

TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipse soundtrack.

Looks like we’ll have to wait and see. And we’d love it if MUSE stays!

DAVID SLADE has tweeted more updates about fresh out of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse post production!!

Wooooooooo…. he’s giving me the goosebumps! Excited goosebumps!!!

MTV NEWS has Bryce Dallas, Kristen, Robert & Taylor talking about Eclipse.

“I had already read the books. I had actually seen ‘Twilight’ several times, much to my husband’s chagrin,” Howard told MTV News while promoting her upcoming release, “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond.” “Whenever Robert Pattinson would come onscreen, I would grab my husband’s hands and start squeezing, and he’d be like, ‘Stop squeezing my hand!’ “

Though Howard felt intimidated joining the tight-knit cast so close to the start of production, one of her biggest challenges may have been maintaining continuity between Lefevre’s Victoria and her portrayal of the revenge-bent bloodsucker. While Howard and Lefevre share similar physical traits, including signature flaming-red tresses, Howard put much care toward embodying the already-established character.

Thanks a heap Bryce!

NEW MOON NEWS – New Moon Tears,Breaks, Shreds, Smashes,Shatters = Decimates Opening Weekend US Box Office Records!!!

YEP! You’ve heard of it and you’ve read about it and now we’re bring you MORE of it!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!

From MTV News

1. “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” ($72.7 million)
2. “The Blind Side” ($10.9 million)
3. “2012″ ($8.1 million)
4. “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” ($3.6 million)
5. “Planet 51″ ($3.2 million)

With “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in over 4,000 theaters nationwide, there was virtually no chance that the continued romance of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan would fall anywhere short of first place — but perhaps no one could have predicted just how far ahead of the competition “New Moon” would end up.

The second “Twilight” installment has already shattered records and expectations by earning $26.3 million from midnight showings alone, decimating the record previously held by “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” Additionally, “New Moon” enjoyed the single most lucrative opening day in the history of cinema with $62.2 million, a record previously held by “The Dark Knight.” Combined with the midnight intake, “New Moon” has already earned $72.7 million — and the weekend isn’t even over.

LA Times

Though the debut day for “New Moon” was unprecedented, the full opening weekend will probably be merely massive. Ticket sales for the first “Twilight” film, which opened on the same weekend last year, plunged 41% on the Saturday after it opened. “New Moon” will probably see an even bigger drop, given the massive amount of interest that helped it set a record as the biggest pre-seller on online ticketing services Fandango and MovieTickets.com.

Nonetheless, a total weekend gross of more than $110 million is all but certain and more than $120 million is very possible. That would give “New Moon” the biggest domestic weekend gross for any film this year, the biggest for an opening outside the summer movie season, and one of the top five of all time, not accounting for inflation.

Ticket sales from the 25 other countries where “New Moon” is opening this weekend will almost certainly push the worldwide weekend gross to more than $150 million.

Summit spent only $50 million to make “New Moon,” including tax incentives from Canada, where it was produced. Even including marketing costs, the picture is certain to be profitable based on ticket sales alone, even before Summit starts making money from DVD and other post-theatrical markets.

Studios usually keep about half the revenue a movie collects from theatrical ticket sales.

ABC News

The vampire romance sequel earned $72.7 million across the United States and Canada on Friday, a figure that includes record-breaking midnight sales of $26.3 million, said the film’s closely held distributor Summit Entertainment.

The old record for a single-day opening was $62.2 million, held by last year’s “Batman” sequel “The Dark Knight,” which went on to become the second-biggest grossing movie of all time in North America before accounting for inflation.

Such heights could be difficult for the “Twilight” sequel to attain. Still, industry observers expect it could finish up with upwards of $125 million for the weekend once Saturday sales data and Sunday estimates are issued early on Sunday.

Variety.com

The opening day for “New Moon” posted more than a 100% gain over the first Friday of “Twilight” which made $36 million a year ago and a three-day weekend of $69.6 million.

For a franchise that has clearly targeted females, “New Moon’s” first day is so exceptional that it’s probable that the film played beyond its core crowd to males. However, Summit plans to release the pic’s moviegoing demos, as well as international results, in its three-day estimate report tomorrow. Ever since the first installment finished its play in theaters, the production of “New Moon” has garnered non-stop headlines on glossy covers and fansites with the media savoring details on the film as well as its cast members Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Manager Gary Burgess said: “We had a lot of hysterical girls. It was quite manic. When we opened yesterday we still had screams.

“The only thing I could compare it to is like girls at a pop concert.”

Lorna McFadzean, general manager at the Odeon in East Kilbride, said the film’s opening days have been phenomenal: “I can’t remember seeing anything like this in my time at the cinema. It’s busier than Harry Potter and Star Wars.

“We expected our audiences to be mostly teenage girls but we have had older people, couples, groups of guys.” Tim Richards, CEO of Vue Entertainment cinemas, said the movie is massive: “These were the largest attended midnight shows we have ever done.”Independents also saw a rush. Andrew Poole, boss of The Pavilion in Galashiels in the Borders called New Moon “the most popular film we have ever had”.

It shattered opening day records in America, beating the sixth Harry Potter film and The Dark Knight.

SATURDAY NUMBERS: Early estimates show The Twilight Saga: New Moon taking in another $43M on Saturday. Adding in Sunday projections means a $140M weekend may be taking shape.

This would translate into a 40% drop from Friday to Saturday, about the exact same percentage decrease Twilight had one year ago (down 40.8% Saturday, down 41.9% Sunday). Adding the $43M estimate to Friday’s official number of $72.7 brings the total to $115.7M. Another 40% drop going into Sunday is projected to yield in about $24M, based on advance sales, tracking polls, and other industry formulas. That would bring the weekend total to around $140M and put New Moon in third place overall for all-time opening weekends, behind The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3 but ahead of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

These numbers are not official and are only estimates based on early reports. However, these preliminary figures are usually fairly close to the final data.

New Moon Opening Night: From Britain to China – fans are going crazy.

“New Moon” was the fastest advance-selling film of the year in Britain, exceeding the £1 million ($1.6 million) mark, according to the country’s largest cinema chain, Odeon.

In India, teenager Ritisha Mishra was so outraged at having been bypassed by the first movie that she rallied likeminded partisans online – and galvanized distributor PVR into bringing both the first and second films to the big screen over the next two weeks.

And in China, where at least one of the books in the series has perched atop the bestseller list for nearly a year, hundreds of thousands of admirers have been soaking up pirated versions of the first movie, which opens in general release only next week.

Ursula Mackenzie, CEO at Little-Brown, Twilight’s UK publishers, told the Daily Telegraph that the success of the franchise spoke to the broad appeal of Meyer’s focus: “She touches on themes – rebellion, angst, and finding your place in the world against tough odds – that resonate with girls and boys, teens and adults.”

Rea, a South African 8th-grader, says the book series is popular among teenagers because, “It has romance, it has trust and friendship, love, and hatred, it has it all.”

Dhalyn, an American 8th-grader who attends school in Johannesburg, is impatiently rereading “New Moon’s” 500-plus pages as she awaits the movie, which won’t open till Dec. 4.

She says it’s all about the storyline. “[It] has that kind of a hook to it that makes you want to read all the books,” she says. “There’s not a lot of stories about girls falling in love with a vampire.”

“I would say over 60 percent of the readers are middle school and high school girls,” says Chang Xiaowu, deputy marketing director of Jieli, the publishing house that bought the Chinese rights. “Edward [Cullen] is a vampire, he is dangerous. Girls love to fall in love with this kind of dangerous boyfriend.”

Edward’s appeal reaches beyond teenagers here, though. Many of his fans are young women in their twenties. “He is supposed to be the evil one, but actually he is a good person,” says Sun Junmei, a 26-year-old financial consultant in Beijing who downloaded audio versions of three of the books.

Robert Pattinson IS Edward Cullen (sometimes)

“Rob shifted into character and my jaw dropped open,” Meyer said in a fan forum that’s linked on her Web site.

“Suffice it to say, he really nailed it. He’s not playing a version of Edward, he’s playing Edward. There is still quite a difference between Rob’s Edward and the Edward in my head, but there are moments when they look eerily similar. I’m still not sure how he does it, but I’m glad he can. As for emotions, I think he does a great job.”

In the meantime, Meyer says she loves “New Moon,” which opened last night at midnight, and says she can’t name just one favorite part.

“I love so many things. Bella’s and Edward’s first conversation in the parking lot … the painting (of the Volturi — it comes alive!) … Jessica’s monologue … the scenes in Jacob’s garage … the first time you see the werewolves!! … Jacob in Bella’s room — thanks, Chris! (that’s Chris Weitz, the director) … the underwater moment … what you see while Thom Yorke’s amazing song is playing … everything in Italy … and I could go on. It’s all so good.

New Moon News (Updated)

Larry Carroll of MTV (also most respected journalist for Twilight fans cos he actually knows Twilight material & Twilight fans well) has now reviewed : The New Moon Kissing Scene!

In the “Twilight” Nation, every leaked shot is cause for celebration, every new piece of footage is reason to skip school, and every new glimpse of Robert Pattinson is the highlight of a given week. It’s no surprise, then, that the Internet is abuzz with a never-before-seen clip from “New Moon” that features a scintillating smooch. OME, indeed.

“It’s still my birthday,” Bella (Kristen Stewart) asks in an early scene from the November 20 “Twilight” sequel, noticeably swallowing her fears over a blossoming romance with vampire Edward Cullen. “Can I ask one thing? Kiss me.”

Screencap3

Screencap4

The two star-crossed lovers swap spit for 14 seconds, each moaning to convey their mutual desire and sense of danger. Edward doesn’t say a single word during the clip, but he doesn’t need to.

For those outsiders who accused Pattinson of less-than-stellar acting in the first “Twilight” film, the clip seems to promise that the fast-rising heartthrob is a lot more than a pretty face. For the millions who long to similarly lock lips with Edward Cullen in front of Bella’s beaten-up truck, the scene is a dream come true — glimpsed briefly in the “New Moon” trailers but far more potent when played out as a whole.

As Twilighters know, the scene represents a rare moment of peace between Edward and Bella, a calm before the “New Moon” storm that is yet to come. And in the eyes of those fans, November 20 can’t come soon enough.

Thanks to Mr.Pattinson.com for the screen caps!!

MTV has just had an interview with Death Cab for Cutie while they were doing the video shoot for the New Moon soundtrack, ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’. Death Cab For Cutie Reveal Secrets of ‘New Moon’ Video Shoot.

Death Cab for Cutie Video Shoot

Their first idea was to go big, as in“cameos by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.” Of course, that was mostly just wishful thinking, so they went with option number two: make a smart, stylish clip with the directorial tandem known as Walter Robot, a pair of guys known for making smart, stylish clips (including DCFC’s VMA-nominated “Grapevine Fires”).

Check out more pictures from MTV here.

PLUS! You can LISTEN to a short sample of the ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’ from 2dayfm. What do you guys think?
