Death Cab For Cutie takes us on the set during the filming of their video ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’. Check it out at MTV. com
Seems that the entire process — a hectic scramble that started with “Equinox” being chosen as the first single off the “New Moon” soundtrack and ended on the set of the video — happened pretty quickly … and it was all the guys in DCFC could do to keep up.
“About eight days ago, they called and were like, ‘Guess what, your song has been chosen as the first single, and now we need a video’ ” bassist Nick Harmer laughed. “It was like a rocket ship — faster than any of us could’ve imagined.”
“It was all, like, waiting and waiting and waiting to see if it was a go, and then all of a sudden, it’s a go and all these tumblers lock into place,” guitarist Chris Walla added. “And suddenly it’s a big machine and now we’re filming a video.”
New Moon Soundtrack Preview!
MTV has just had an interview with Death Cab for Cutie while they were doing the video shoot for the New Moon soundtrack, ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’. Death Cab For Cutie Reveal Secrets of ‘New Moon’ Video Shoot.
Their first idea was to go big, as in“cameos by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.” Of course, that was mostly just wishful thinking, so they went with option number two: make a smart, stylish clip with the directorial tandem known as Walter Robot, a pair of guys known for making smart, stylish clips (including DCFC’s VMA-nominated “Grapevine Fires”).
