The Examiner has managed to come up with 13 Reasons why smart girls love Robert Pattinson
You may get the general vibe that there’s something about this guy that sets girls’ hearts racing (and some of their embarrassed moms, too; truth be told), but you may be dumbfounded why even the smartest girls you know–those who might rather die than be called a ‘fangirl’–also seem to love this British actor so very, very much.

Metro News has the third out of 5 parts coverage on New Moon. This time, they interviewed the new director. Chris Weitz takes the Twilight helm with New Moon
Q. Could you tell us about New Moon and how it’s different from Twilight?
A. I think we get an opportunity to sort of expand our scope — from the confines of the forest to Italy. Your sense of mythology of this world is deepened so that the story that underlies what was going on in the first movie becomes more and more clear. And there are a lot of secrets that were set up in the first book and the first movie that come to light in the second movie. So there are a lot of surprises in store.
About.com has got interviews with Michael Welch, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli at the Red Carpet for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. All of them were interviewed about the filming of New Moon. COOL~~

Looks like they imposed tight security on Bella’s House:
The building that was erected to serve as Bella’s House in New Moon in the Vancouver area is now under 24/7 surveillance, and has a newly erected chain link fence with barbed wire at the top to deter would-be intruders. It looks like they’re taking security very seriously in order to protect the sets till Eclipse films.

Robert Pattinson has ‘Breaking News’ – article by The Hollywood Reporter:
Robert Pattinson, who shot to stardom in “Twilight” and is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book “Breaking Dawn.”
Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn’t know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor’s jam-packed shooting schedule.
Robert Pattinson tells Risky Biz his thoughts on ‘New Moon’, an interview by Risky Biz Blog:
THR: What’s the schedule for “New Moon”?
Pattinson: We’ve got four days left on the shoot for this. I’m going to Italy for the remaining days of the shoot.
THR: And then?
Pattinson: Then I’m going straight into filming (the relationship drama) “Remember Me,” then have just three days off before going back to finishing up the third instalment in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse.” After that I am doing a film “Unbound Captives.” I can’t say much about that but I know the script needs me to learn Comanche! Maybe it’ll be like in “Dances With Wolves!” My part is entirely in Comanche, ha ha.

Here’s an interesting read from The Deadbolt: Native American Twilight Lore and New Moon Quiluete Legends
There’s no doubt that the Twilight Saga has generated an incredible, even phenomenal, amount of interest among fans, but it has also cast a huge spotlight on Native American culture and the origins of the Quileute legends. Unlike so many characters that are as fictional as the storylines surrounding them, Native American lore, whether from the Quileute tribe or others, is still being passed down through new generations while still being recorded by anthropologists and historians eager to preserve the various versions of similar stories.
New Moon News
Recently, the New Moon/Eclipse cast including David Slade & Stephenie Meyer gathered at a Vancouver restaurant for the New Moon Wrap Party and Eclipse Kick-Off Party. Vancity Allie was there to cover the event. Lots of great pictures too, check out her blog entry!
Allie’s friend, Amy, with Stephenie Meyer
There was an all-cast New Moon Wrap Party and Eclipse Kick-Off Party happening at Blue Water. All the cast members were partying in a private room at the restaurant. David Slade was there to kick things off, Stephenie Meyer also, as well as Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria), Rob Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Taylor Lautner (Jacob), Ashley Greene (Alice), Michael Sheen (Aro), Jamie Bower (Caius), Charlie Bewley (Demetri), Dakota Fanning (Jane), Cameron Bright (Alec) and I’m pretty sure I saw Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter) there.
I saw a couple cast members holding thick manuscripts, including Rob, so I’m PRETTY sure they were possibly giving out Eclipse scripts (with David Slade, Stephenie and Melissa doesn’t it seem possible?). How cool is that?
A Twitter update from Michael Sheen:

OMG!!!! They just did a photoshoot for The Volturi! Thank you Michael Sheen for the update

Twilight Poison has a copy of Los 40 Principles (Spanish Magazine) and there’s a new (old) interview of Rob and Kristen that they did last December. Read the full interview and see the scans here. Thanks Vale!
This is a funny interview, you should read it!

Do you have any plans to release an album? Look at the Disney kids…
Rob: No, I hate that. I won’t consider it until I quit acting. I’ve only played in pubs. I had never recorded anything or made money with music. Maybe just 60 euros for playing here and there. I don’t want to become a franchise like the Disney kids. Some people say you’re too pretty to play Bella.
Kristen: In the movie I’m an average girl. What you said was not very nice, actually. This happens with literary characters.
Kristen: I know. But beauty is subjective. If you go online and google “the ugliest girl in the world” you’ll get my picture. Believe, it’s everywhere. A lot of people think I’m hideous.
Cullen Boys Anonymous shares with us an interesting fan encouter story with Kellan, Michael and Edi.
It was so fast I didn’t believe he was there! but then one second later, he came right back and gave Ade a hug, his BEAR HUG! love it! and they took a picture. I was next! he gave me the biggest hug!! another bear hug, took me off the ground hug! I didn’t let go, I wanted a picture also, but like I said I didn’t let go forgetting the camera was in my hand the whole time. But then we let go, I handed Ade the camera, and she snapped one and then he smiled thanking us for being there and left. They were being rushed by some people, the twilighters were waiting to see them! Can we get any luckier? They are the best!

David Slade on The Twilight Saga:
Today, however, it seems like Slade’s Twitter account has been deleted, which is a crying shame. Besides the loss of an interesting tweeter, another of the reasons this is unfortunate is that the deletion covers Slade’s tracks a little and hides a rather amusing little attack he launched on the Twilight franchise.

Larry Carroll from MTV shares his thoughts on ‘Eclipse’ Gets A Bloodthirsty New Director – And More Questions Than Answers:
What I am beginning to enjoy, however, is Summit’s decision to hire a different director for each film. Which is surprising, because I was definitely hoping that Catherine Hardwicke would oversee the entire series after the first “Twilight” became such a big hit. But if you’re a movie buff (and not just a Twilighter first and foremost), this is developing into a very interesting cinematic experiment.
And whereas Weitz seems likely to try and play things closer to Hardwicke’s blueprint, Slade is the kind of proudly defiant filmmaker who will want to shake things up a bit. For better or worse, the end result is going to be a trilogy of films filtered through three very different lenses.
Henry Cavill speaks to MTV – ‘Twilight’ Author Fave Henry Cavill Addresses Edward Cullen Rumours:
How close did 25-year-old British actor Henry Cavill come to playing Edward Cullen?
“Twilight” fans have long lingered over author Stephenie Meyer’s assertion that the actor would have been her “perfect Edward,” pre-Robert Pattinson of course. Nowadays, RPattz has become the hottest young star in Hollywood, and Cavill is instead starring in the Woody Allen comedy “Whatever Works,” opening July 1. And when we caught up with him recently, the actor revealed that his star-making “casting” never made it far beyond Meyer’s lips.
You have seen Carlisle cooked in the Cullen’s kicthen in Twilight right? Well, who knew that Peter Facinelli can really cook!
His wifey, Jennie Garth, tells me she was shocked to learn that Facinelli cooked a pasta dinner for the cast of the Twilight sequel when they reunited last month to start shooting with new director Chris Weitz.
“I am pissed off, because he doesn’t make me pasta dinners,” Garth said the other day at the Feeding America and Healthy Choice event in Beverly Hills. “I don’t know when was the last time the man cooked for me!”

Twilight News – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Summit Entertainment has officially confirmed that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. Eclipse will be released on June 20th 2010 in North America.
Los Angeles, CA April 22, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that David Slade has been hired to direct THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on the Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.
Meyer stated, “I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing ECLIPSE. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that ECLIPSE will be carrying on with that tradition.”
Feig said, “Stephenie Meyer’s ECLIPSE is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds. We cannot wait to see the ECLIPSE he brings to life and brings to the fans eagerly awaiting its arrival in summer of 2010.”
Filmmaker Slade came to prominence as a director for his work on 2006’s engrossing film HARD CANDY starring Academy Award® Nominated actress Ellen Page as well as directing 2007’s genre hit 30 DAYS OF NIGHT which opened to number one at the box office its first weekend of release.
In ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Kristen Stewart appeared on The Jimmy Kemmel show. She talks about her new films, The Cake Eaters & Adventureland plus the upcoming sequel, New Moon.
Frosty from Collider.com participated in a roundtable interview with Kristen Stewart. Frosty has the audio interview and the partial transcript right here.
Thankfully, Kristen was in great spirits, so when we finally started talking about “New Moon” she was cool with the questions. But while many are just looking forward to “New Moon” and “Eclipse”, she’s also going to be playing Joan Jett in “The Runaways”, and after hearing her talk so passionately about the project, I can see it means a great deal to her.

He’s Hot. He’s Sexy. He’s Undead.
Two years ago, Robert Pattinson was a forgotten extra in a ‘Harry Potter’ movie. Then he got cast as a blue-balled vampire in ‘Twilight,’ the year’s kazillion-dollar movie franchise, and every woman in America over 14 wants him. Too bad he’s not sure he wants them.
Oh yes, GQ sent Cullen Boys Anonymous an amazing Rob’s spread layout in the GQ’s April Issue. You can read the article and view more of Rob’s photos at Men.Style.Com (Warning: Language for article)

Entertainment Weekly has an article – Why The Third ‘Twilight’ Movie Might Not Suck.
Because it now looks likely that the third movie, Eclipse, will be directed by Spanish film-maker Juan Antonio Bayona. “Who?” you may ask. And that’s a fair question. Bayona is hardly a household name—yet! But his debut movie, The Orphanage, was one of the great creepfests of the past few years—a gorgeous-to-look-at horror film about a missing child and the ghosts who may, or may not, have taken him. The result was entrancing, unsettling and, at times, utterly terrifying. Everything, in fact, that Twilight is not.
The Orphanage trailer:
However, please bear in mind that Summit has not officially confirmed anything yet regarding the director for ‘Eclipse’. LATimes Blog has the full story – Summit hires new ‘Twilight’ director, right? Wrong!
By sheer coincidence, I had lunch today with Erik Feig, who’s president of production at Summit and the man most involved with managing the hit series of films. (“New Moon,” the second film in the series, begins production later this month with Chris Weitz at the helm.)
Feig was shocked to see the media reports saying Summit had hired Bayona, since — ahem — they’re not true. “The ‘Eclipse’ directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else,” he told me. “We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job.”

MTV has an article about Juan Antonio Bayona directing Eclipse? Read here.
Most of Bayona’s work has been based in the horror genre. The Spanish director was the man behind “The Orphanage.” “Eclipse” would be Bayona’s English-language directorial debut if he and Summit can hash out a deal.

“I love outtakes,” Stewart said. “I love when the fantasy is broken down and revealed to everyone. I think it’s funny. Literally, there wasn’t a day that went by that we didn’t have camera crews on set so I’m sure that they have hours of footage to cut together for the eager audience.”
The sequel, New Moon begins shooting later this month, with Chris Weitz taking over directing. “Chris is like the most genuinely vested. He didn’t just like jump on the bandwagon like, ‘Ooh, let’s get the next big successful movie. I want to do Twilight too.’ He really likes it and is entirely involved. He’s a really sweet guy and we’re all really excited to work with him. I really like his work as well so it all just works out.”

Nikki Reed explains that she won’t be dying her hair for New Moon. Full story here.

But what will this mean for the fans? Reed said the die-hards might notice some of the changes — like her plan to wear a wig this time rather than dye her hair again. “My hair fell out,” she winced. “It took 36 hours initially to make me blond, and every other day, I was bleaching my head and my skin. This time around, we are testing out different wigs and stuff.”

Okay okay, we got news people! Nikki Finke from Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that Eclipse will be premiering on June 30th, 2010. *GASPS*
I’ve confirmed there’s no director hired yet. And the two productions won’t be back-to-back. But that hasn’t stopped Summit Entertainment from newly scheduling its Twilight threequel for release on June 30, 2010, not long after its Twilight sequel New Moon set for November 20th this year now being helmed by Chris Weitz.
Film’s synopsis as follows:
“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”
Full details here.
Also, Entertainment Weekly is reporting this:
Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively).
