Melissa Rosenberg updated her Facebook and gave thumbs up to David Slade (director for Eclipse):

Finally got to spend some time with our new director for Eclipse, David Slade. And I gotta say, he’s great. Very smart, funny, creative. I already knew he was a really talented and visual filmmaker, but now I know he’s terrific to work with as well. Collaborative and, most important (from a writer’s point of view) smart about story, character and emotional arcs. He gets it. And he’s going to make Eclipse into a fantastic movie. So relax Eclipse fans! We’re in good hands.

OK Magazine has an interview with Ashley Greene. Read the full interview here.

OK!: How do you spend time off the set?
There’s a street in Vancouver called Robson, where we jam with people who play instruments. I’m going to take up guitar, because Jackson [Rathbone], Nikki [Reed], Kristen [Stewart] and Rob [Pattinson] all play guitar and sing.

New Moon News (Updated)

Lainey has pictures of a clean shaven Michael Sheen out and about in Vancouver. Beware of filming set spoilers in the article.

Thanks to xmjw!

Took a little trip to the set of Bella Swan’s house located in South Surrey, BC Canada just outside of Vancouver. Her truck, the bikes, and the police car were all there a couple of days before, but gone now. The security on hand actually let us go take pictures on the doorstep! This was a first as usually they won’t let anyone even near the place. Lots of fun! Wicked experience. If only they were filming!

Twilight Poison has a copy of Los 40 Principles (Spanish Magazine) and there’s a new (old) interview of Rob and Kristen that they did last December. Read the full interview and see the scans here. Thanks Vale! :D This is a funny interview, you should read it!

Los 40 Principales

Do you have any plans to release an album? Look at the Disney kids…
Rob: No, I hate that. I won’t consider it until I quit acting. I’ve only played in pubs. I had never recorded anything or made money with music. Maybe just 60 euros for playing here and there. I don’t want to become a franchise like the Disney kids.

Some people say you’re too pretty to play Bella.
Kristen: In the movie I’m an average girl. What you said was not very nice, actually.

This happens with literary characters.
Kristen: I know. But beauty is subjective. If you go online and google “the ugliest girl in the world” you’ll get my picture. Believe, it’s everywhere. A lot of people think I’m hideous.

Cullen Boys Anonymous shares with us an interesting fan encouter story with Kellan, Michael and Edi.

It was so fast I didn’t believe he was there! but then one second later, he came right back and gave Ade a hug, his BEAR HUG! love it! and they took a picture. I was next! he gave me the biggest hug!! another bear hug, took me off the ground hug! I didn’t let go, I wanted a picture also, but like I said I didn’t let go forgetting the camera was in my hand the whole time. But then we let go, I handed Ade the camera, and she snapped one and then he smiled thanking us for being there and left. They were being rushed by some people, the twilighters were waiting to see them! Can we get any luckier? They are the best!

Kellan and Peter reenacted the spidermonkey scene at the recent Creation’s Twilight Convention:

For those of you who watch Gossip Girls, you probably have known that Twilight was mentioned in their recent episodes. Thanks to those who helped tracked it down at Twilight Lexicon! Fast-forward to the 3:05 mark :D

Rachel from Access Hollywood sent us a new video interview with Kellan Lutz. Kellan talks about filming in Italy soon, “crashing in Rob’s room”, Rob’s birthday and the David Slade’s comments.

Speaking of David Slade, Twilight Lexicon received an email from David Slade himself about the recent comments he made about the Twilight franchise. Read the full story here.

David Slade on The Twilight Saga:

Today, however, it seems like Slade’s Twitter account has been deleted, which is a crying shame. Besides the loss of an interesting tweeter, another of the reasons this is unfortunate is that the deletion covers Slade’s tracks a little and hides a rather amusing little attack he launched on the Twilight franchise.

/film has the full story.

Congratulations to Rob for winning the Best Actor Award for his role in How To Be at First Glance Film Festival. Further details can be found at Pattinson Online.

Here’s an exclusive interview with Rob about How To Be. Thanks to comcast.net:

In the film he plays Art, a guy who doesn’t really fit in (imagine that!) and is looking for his place in the world. Art is stuck in a rut and enlists an elderly self-help guru to guide him down the road of life. Pattinson sat down for an exclusive interview and gave us the inside scoop on singing live in the movie and how he relates to this dysfunctional character.

Larry Carroll from MTV shares his thoughts on ‘Eclipse’ Gets A Bloodthirsty New Director – And More Questions Than Answers:

What I am beginning to enjoy, however, is Summit’s decision to hire a different director for each film. Which is surprising, because I was definitely hoping that Catherine Hardwicke would oversee the entire series after the first “Twilight” became such a big hit. But if you’re a movie buff (and not just a Twilighter first and foremost), this is developing into a very interesting cinematic experiment.

And whereas Weitz seems likely to try and play things closer to Hardwicke’s blueprint, Slade is the kind of proudly defiant filmmaker who will want to shake things up a bit. For better or worse, the end result is going to be a trilogy of films filtered through three very different lenses.

Henry Cavill speaks to MTV – ‘Twilight’ Author Fave Henry Cavill Addresses Edward Cullen Rumours:

Henry Cavill

How close did 25-year-old British actor Henry Cavill come to playing Edward Cullen?

“Twilight” fans have long lingered over author Stephenie Meyer’s assertion that the actor would have been her “perfect Edward,” pre-Robert Pattinson of course. Nowadays, RPattz has become the hottest young star in Hollywood, and Cavill is instead starring in the Woody Allen comedy “Whatever Works,” opening July 1. And when we caught up with him recently, the actor revealed that his star-making “casting” never made it far beyond Meyer’s lips.

You have seen Carlisle cooked in the Cullen’s kicthen in Twilight right? Well, who knew that Peter Facinelli can really cook!

His wifey, Jennie Garth, tells me she was shocked to learn that Facinelli cooked a pasta dinner for the cast of the Twilight sequel when they reunited last month to start shooting with new director Chris Weitz.

“I am pissed off, because he doesn’t make me pasta dinners,” Garth said the other day at the Feeding America and Healthy Choice event in Beverly Hills. “I don’t know when was the last time the man cooked for me!”

Robert and his love for piano. Check out the article by celeb9. He also admits that he’s “kind of a  paranoid wreck”. Reuters with the details here.

Woots!  Novel Novice Twilight reached 10,000, 000 views already! Congratulations NNT! Go give them some love, ya?

Twilight News – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Twilight News (Version 2)

Summit Entertainment has officially confirmed that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. Eclipse will be released on June 20th 2010 in North America.

David Slade Directs The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Los Angeles, CA April 22, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that David Slade has been hired to direct THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on the Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.

Meyer stated, “I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing ECLIPSE. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that ECLIPSE will be carrying on with that tradition.”

Feig said, “Stephenie Meyer’s ECLIPSE is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds. We cannot wait to see the ECLIPSE he brings to life and brings to the fans eagerly awaiting its arrival in summer of 2010.”

Filmmaker Slade came to prominence as a director for his work on 2006’s engrossing film HARD CANDY starring Academy Award® Nominated actress Ellen Page as well as directing 2007’s genre hit 30 DAYS OF NIGHT which opened to number one at the box office its first weekend of release.

In ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
