Instyle tells us more about the Hair Secrets from the Set.

The first step in getting Pattinson and Stewart to resemble their characters Edward and Bella was a hair transformation. “Both of their hair colors were from a previous film and needed to be corrected for their Twilight roles,” says Mary Ann Valdes, the movie’s department head hairstylist. To get the right shade, she had the actors try on wigs and when the color was decided on, she sent them to Beverly Hills salon owner Stuart Gavert (with the help of co-colorist Jonathan Castellanos) take care of the coloring.
And Instyle wants to know which style would you prefer for Rob – Casual or Dressy? Take part in the style poll here.

Examiner.com has an article – Twilight And New Moon Fans be sure to wear red on Thursday for Rob Pattinson and Edward Cullen.
…to show your support for a faithful book-to-film translation of New Moon by Chris Weitz (one which would have Robert Pattinson amidst a sea of garnet and red celebrants of St. Marcus Day, with Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene, as Bella Swan and Alice Cullen, fighting against this sea of red to make it to Edward before the clock strikes twelve) wear something red this Thursday, March 19th.
YAY! More of Rob’s pictures he did for a press can be found here via Lion_Lamb and here.

Rob & Cam is in Vanity Fair’s West Side Story Revisited:

TURF BATTLE
The Sharks and the Jets mark out a piece of urban turf while simultaneously expressing the joy of being young, vigorous, and able to kick ass. As Bernardo, in red, Rodrigo Santoro (Behind the Sun) leads fellow Sharks played by Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) and Jay Hernandez (Grindhouse, Hostel, Ladder 49). The Jets’ leader, Riff, in yellow, is played by Chris Evans, equally hot-headed in the role of the Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. Rounding out his crew are Cam Gigandet (The O.C., Twilight), Drake Bell (yes, the Drake, of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh), and Robert Pattinson (Edward in Twilight, Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). They are not fully visible but they don’t mind, because they know the maxim, “There are no small parts, only small actors.”
THE DANCE
Between Maria (Camilla Belle, far left) and Tony (Ben Barnes, far right, also known as Prince Caspian), it is dancing, dancing, dancing. Latin steps predominate on the left, as the Sharks and their ladies give America a taste of the culture to come. On the right, we have a series of funky Anglo moves, as the Jets and their gals go rhythmically at it. On either side, our two tragic protagonists have eyes only for each other. The lead Sharks dancers are Anita (J.Lo, in an incredible pose) and Bernardo (Rodrigo Santoro). The Jet girl dancing with Riff (Chris Evans) is played by Ashley Tisdale (of High School Musical fame). Rounding out the Sharks, left to right: Minka Kelly (she’s Lyla on Friday Night Lights), Jay Hernandez, Natalie Martinez (Death Race), Brandon T. Jackson, Melonie Diaz (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints). On the Jets’ side: Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Shane Lynch (she’s gonna be big), Robert Pattinson, Cam Gigandet, Trilby Glover (88 Minutes), Brittany Snow (Hairspray), Drake Bell.

Apologies for the daily news update. First off, WE HAVE Rob’s GQ OUTTAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to wintersmistake from IMDB for finding these pictures!

Times Online has an article regarding Stephenie Meyer’s influence on teenage girls to read the classics.
“We are on course to sell several tens of thousands of copies this year, which is exceptional. The enthusiasm has prompted a lot of bookshops to put Brontë on display next to Stephenie Meyer, and that has obviously encouraged people to buy both of them.”
Stephenie Meyer herself drawn inspiration from classic novels for her Twilight saga series:
Twilight: Pride & Prejudice
New Moon: Romeo & Juliet
Eclipse: Wuthering Heights
Breaking Dawn: The Merchant of Venice and A Midsummers Night Dream
Another article by The Arizona Republic mentions that Twilight is breathing life into supernatural fiction.
Ashley Greene played Celebrity Fastball with Twist Magazine. She has to choose one word to describe the Twilight cast:

Extra has a brief video interview with Kristen explaining to the viewers that people can think of anything they want about her and that she doesn’t care about it.
[UPDATE] Kristen shares her thoughts on the ‘Eclipse’ director rumour.
Sharing her opinion with Sci Fi Wire, she stated that she believes either Bayona or Barrymore will be a good choice.
“I don’t know. I mean, as long as they get someone who’s invested, as long as they get someone who cares,” the 18-year-old starlet explained. “It’s so above me, but I think that both of them are [good choices] in their own way. I’m sure that they’d be great. Drew’s been doing this her whole life, and she’s pretty cool.”
She further noted that it’s too early to say anything since neither has been signed for the project so far. “I could probably get behind both of those choices for various reasons, but neither’s [a lock]. Nobody’s been hired, so I don’t know yet,” so she claimed.
Speaking of which, I was listening to the radio yesterday when Jean Danker mentioned that Juan Antonio Bayona will be directing Eclipse during her ‘Movie Minutes’ segment on Class 95FM. She also mentioned that Drew Barrymore has just lost her chance to direct ‘Eclipse’. Uh-oh!!!

There’s this video recorded by a fan who attended the Twilight Convention in the UK – ‘What Did You Whisper in Robert Pattinson’s ear when Carlisle Bites Edward?’ You can watch it below:
Thank you RobPattzNews!
And here’s a transcript (read below) if you have difficulty trying to hear what Peter said. Thank you to those from lion_lamb.
“Well I definitely did say something. You know I – alright, I’ll tell ya. I consciously did that, I mean Rob and I talked about that scene and and I said I think it would be really cool if I whispered something and nobody knows what it is. (Unclear), going around telling everyone what (unclear). But doesn’t it make you really want to know? Alright, shut the cameras off over there. Um, no, I – I think the first thing I said was uh – one of the first things I said was ‘I’m sorry’ because I felt like Carlisle knew – I mean he was the first person that he was actually changing, and he knew the life that he was – it was a catch 22 because he was saving his life but you know it was a very difficult (unclear) thing for him to do. He wasn’t sure if it was the right thing for him to do and he wasn’t sure he was making the right choice. And then I think the second take I said something like, uhh, ‘You’re being reborn, my son,’ and I was claiming him as my son. And then by the fifth take I said ‘You’re sexy,’ or something. (Unclear over the applause). I hope this (unclear) is as good for you as it is for me. (Lots of unclearness to me). ‘Cause as we got into the takes (unclear) getting bored with the first couple. He’s a good actor. So it Kellan Lutz!”
We’ve heard news that Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner is in Vancouver…and a lucky fan met both of them! Read her story here.
So my friends and I were walking on Robson Street in Downtown Vancouver for my birthday dinner. My friends were walking ahead of me and I trailed behind in pain from walking in heels. TWILIGHT NEWS

Just one news before we hit the sack!
March is gonna be a GREAT MONTH!! Why?
Three Good Reasons:
1) New Moon is reported to start filming,
2) The Twilight DVD will be released on March 21st,
3) On March 17th, Little Brown & Company will be releasing Catherine Hardwicke’s book, “TWILIGHT: Director’s Notebook”
Hollywood Insider(EW) reported ,”The book will include inside secrets on casting, location scouting, and wardrobe — plus behind-the-scenes photos, personal notes about Hardwicke’s favorite scenes, and more. “With this book, I tried to show fans and future directors some of the process that the crew and I went through filming Twilight,” said Hardwicke.”

So mark your calendars!
Danke Angelica!
And since we’re in the subject of filmmaking – I’d like to mention about Maggie Parke. She’s from the US and doing her PhD @ Bangor University in Wales studying fantasy literature adaptations (the process of turning a book into a film, a video game etc). As she said on her blog, she’s basically getting a PhD in Twilight(!!!), Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings. She was on the set of Twilight last year and she’s been involved in a lot of events leading up to the movie’s release.

Here’s an excerpt from her blog:
“I like the point that Catherine makes in the video about one look that an actor gives another actor in the film can cover twenty-five pages of text from Stephenie Meyer. Because of this, they are able to add extra scenes and dialogue in order to develop the characters and keep us interested (i.e. not having five scenes in the Bio classroom; instead there may be three scenes there and an extra scene in a greenhouse for visual diversity). We don’t have twenty-five pages of text to get to know the workings of these character’s brains. Instead, we have time and observation. Much like how Edward can’t get into Bella’s head, we have to find other outlets to get to know these characters like extra scenes with them… because unlike the novels, we can’t get into Bella’s head either!”
So for all of you budding filmmakers out there or just awesome Twilight fans

Haiyo, you all ah! Chris Weitz is not the official new director yet! Fret not, my friends. I hope Summit can find a new film maker that has the ability to take over the reigns from Catherine Hardwicke and do the sequels justice.
Although Weitz was indeed offered the high-profile gig, the “American Pie” filmmaker has spent much of the week contemplating his participation. According to “Twilight” studio Summit Entertainment, the deal remains unconsummated.
“No, it is not official,” a studio representative told MTV News on Thursday evening (December 11). “We are not confirming anything at this point. He is not signed on as the director.”
This is contrary to the earlier report by EW that Chris Weitz has been confirmed.
Head on over to MTV to get a sneak peek at Perry Farrell’s “Go All the Way” music video. Farrell also apparently told MTV that “he and Etty are both “Twilight” fans and would love to write a song for the sequel — as long as the new director wants him.” I think his song was quite good, so why not?
There is speculation that Michael Copon is the new Jacob Black. What do you think? Too far from the Native American description? Or a good change from Taylor Lautner?
Other than Catherine having revealed last month that a “Midnight Sun” scene will be in the DVD, MTV also has a new article up with Catherine discussing more stuff, including deleted scenes, commentary and when the DVD arrives in stores.
“We just did the commentary,” Hardwicke grinned when she came to visit our studio right after “Twilight” opened, revealing that she had spent time in an audio booth with stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart that very morning. “We were like, ‘Is this the lamest commentary ever?’ We were just laughing!
