Aro asked how Edward and Alice would be able to resist the thirst for Bella’s blood and be so close with her. He was amazed by Bella how she could immune to Edward’s talent, he wanted jane to try her talent to bella, edward knows her ability to inflict debilitating pain with her thoughts, he took the pain in bella’s place. After trying it on edward, she tried on bella,but it makes no effect to bella at all, she was frustrated.
Aro then invited Edward, Bella and Alice to join them as they have the talent but they rejected the invitation.
Caius mentioned that Bella has known too much about them and so she has either to be killed or transformed. The Volturi agreed that if Bella would be transformed, they would not kill her and since Bella has a talent and they do not want to waste it too.
why are they free to go without being harmed?
It was because as long as edward would change bella into one of them,they have no reason to kill bella.Edward did not agree and was in a difficult position.then,Alice walk towards Aro, she made a decision to turn bella into a vampire,thus aro could see her visions,he could see how bella was like after she had turn into a vampire.supposely,they dont know how subjective Alice’s visions could be,she can change her mind not to transform bella and other tiny decisions could change her visions and the future entirely.

Answer to Week 7’s question:
The Volturi is equivalent to the royalty in the vampire world and they enforce the law. They have existed for about three thousand years, from 1300BC and reside in Volterra, Italy. The Volturi’s aim is to keep the vampire world hidden from the human world. If any vampire exposed themselves to humans, regardless if it was intentional or not, they will send others of their kind to eliminate them and their covens. The Volturi consists of their leaders, Aro — who can read a person’s thought just by touching them, Marcus — who can sense the strength of relationships between humans and vampires, Caius — who has no known powers. Aro, Marcus and Caius have wives — Sulphica, Athenodora and Didyme respectively. Didyme has the ability to make others happy. There are 32 Volturi guards — whom the most outstanding of them are Jane, Alec, Demetri and Chelsea. Jane is able to inflict illusions of pain towards her target, Alec is able to block other’s senses. Jane and Alec is a fabulous pair — doted by Aro, the leader. They often destroy vampires together. Demetri is a tracker — he can track anyone once he has the tenor of their minds. Chelsea can change emotional bondings — making it efficient when The Volturi is dealing with a large coven. Renenta has the ability to distract others, making people wander if they are near here, therefore acting as a “shield”.

Week 5 Winner: Melissa Tan
Answer to Week 5’s Question: Alice first came back to Forks with the intention of comforting Charlie about the “death” of Bella. She had a vision of Bella jumping off a cliff and assumed that she had committed suicide. Knowing that her visions are an imperfect art, she waited and waited to see if she would have another vision of Bella resurfacing but she didn’t and presumed Bella dead.
Her intention of returning to Forks was to help out with Charlie. Thinking that it was too late to save Bella, she had hoped that she would be able to help Charlie cope with Bella’s death. She had no foreseen the existence of werewolves or that her gift would be rendered useless in their presence. That was why she didn’t have the vision of Bella being saved from the waters as she had been rescued by Jacob, a werewolf who obscured her visions.
Alice and Charlie were in the kitchen, him fixing her breakfast when they had their conversation. Alice was the one who initiated it by asking how Bella reacted to the news of the Cullens’ leaving and Edward breaking up with her.
Charlie responded by telling how bad it was and how it made him feel helpless. There was nothing he could do as Bella remained in her catatonic state. She refused to be moved to Florida and when he thought that she was finally getting better, he realized that she was getting worse. She basically closed herself from the world, refusing to engage in any activity that could remotely, possibly remind her of Edward.
Their father-daughter relationship became even more fragile. Charlie, already finding it difficult to communicate with his daughter from the beginning, now had to worry about saying the wrong things, “making her flinch”. He had to watch as Bella became more anti-social and he told Alice about Bella’s nightmare at night, that he could “still hear her screaming in her sleep”.
They later talked about how Bella seemed to be improving and Charlie credits that to Jacob’s help. He honestly believes that Jacob and Bella will make a good pair, even if Bella’s pain will never go away. Charlie worries that Alice’s return might somehow affect Bella in a detrimental way. She apologizes and Charlie then hopes that Alice’s return would be beneficial instead.
Lastly, Charlie asked Alice about Edward, in a subtle manner, doing his best to conceal his anger. He doesn’t want Edward back in Forks and when Alice told him that he was last heard in South America, he believes that Edward is having fun there. This is the only time when we see Alice somewhat angry as she tells Charlie not to make any assumptions before their conversation ended.

Answer to Week 4’s Question: Emily was a cheerful person who never sat still. She flitted around her little house an yard, scrubbing at the spotless floor, pulling a tiny weed, fixing a broken hinge, tugging a string of wool through an ancient loom, and always cooking in her friendly, bright with white cupboards and pale wooden floor-boards kitchen.
About a year ago, Sam lost his temper and changed into a wolf while standing right next to Emily, causing her to have three long scars on the right hand side of her face, and one long scar reaching down to her arm. Everyone was led to believe that the scars are from a bear attack during salmon spawning season. Emily has black hair and is said to have been beautiful before the scars. According to Jacob, Sam feels pain every time he sees the scars and has never forgiven himself for what he did. She still has beautiful features, though the scars drag them down on one half of her face.

Answer to Week 3’s Question: Bella was upset when she did not receive any calls from Jacob and when she called Billy to ask, she found out that Jacob had recovered from his sickness and was out with his friends. She then told Charlie that she would call Jessica to study as Charlie was afraid of leaving her alone in the house, in case she got “mopey” again. She thought of going to La Push to get her motorcycle, but decided to put the thought aside as she also thought of going to the woods since she had a map and a compass in her truck, and earlier, Jacob has promised her to look for the meadow together. Before she realised it, she was already on the familiar dirt road, from studying the map with compass, she found her way to the meadow.
When she was at the meadow, she realised that although it was the same place, it didn’t hold what she had been searching for. She was disappointed as nothing lingered there. Only memories that she could call back if she wanted to and able to endure the corresponding pain. The place wasn’t the same without Edward. She wasn’t sure what to feel there but the it was the same as her nightmares. She was also thankful that she did not discover the meadow with Jacob, afraid that she might not be able to disguise the abyss she was plunging into.

Week 2 Winner: Gerald Koh
Answer to Week 2’s Question: Jacob does not directly tell Bella that he’s a werewolf as it would be against the Pack rules. Instead, he goes to her room (in Chapter 12 Intruder), wanting to apologize to her for his previously horrible attitude towards her and in the end, tells Bella to guess what the real secret behind his change of behaviour is. While trying to help her guess correctly, he gives her “clues”, like the Quileute legend he told her at La Push beach in Twilight. Eventually, he leaves and Bella has a dream about Jacob turning into a gigantic wolf with “his intelligent eyes”. Then the story about the enemies of the werewolves echoes in her mind and she makes the connection.
Only when she goes to his house and tell him that she knows what he is does he give her confirmation that her guess was correct when he says about the rangers and hunters in response to the worries that Bella has. Jacob explains his situation of how the wolf pack takes care of themselves. Therefore, by letting her know what he really is, Jacob can finally explain to Bella that he is not in a cult, but has a duty to a pack, which he hopes will help them reconcile and return to being the good friends they once were.

8-Week Surprise Gift Giveaway: Introduction
In celebration of our all-time-favourite upcoming movie, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, that will be released in December, Twilight Singapore will be having an 8-WEEK SURPRISE GIFT GIVEAWAY!
A question pertaining to New Moon [The book only] and a couple of trivia questions, that will be asked on every Sunday. You have 6 days to submit your answers and the judges will decide on who are the winners. The winner will get a surprise gift that is difficult to attain from anywhere else!
