Twilight News – Bella & Edward’s First Kiss makes it as the 10 most iconic movie kisses

In the book, Bella & Edward’s first kiss occurred at the end of Chapter 13 : Confessions, Bella reeling after Edward carried her running through the woods.

” I was thinking there was something I wanted to try.” And he took my face in his hands again.

I couldn’t breathe.

He hesitated – not in the normal way, the human way.

Not in the way a man might hesitate before he kissed a woman, to gauge her reaction, to see how he would be received. Perhaps he would hesitate to prolong the moment, that ideal moment of anticipation, sometimes better than the kiss itself.

Edward hesitated to test himself, to see if this was safe, to make sure he was still in control of his need.

And then his cold, marble lips pressed very softly against mine.

What neither of us was prepared for was my response.

Blood boiled under my skin, burned in my lips. My breath became a wild gasp. My fingers knotted in his hair, clutching him to me. My lips parted in his heady scent.

And here’s what we got in the movie:

“Twilight”

Even the most diehard members of Team Jacob can’t deny the romantic power of Bella and Edward’s first kiss. Kristen Stewart — who’s almost uniformly closemouthed about her off-screen relationship with costar Robert Pattinson — did offer “I get to kiss Edward Cullen,” when asked to name a few of her favorite things about the gig.

Eclipse News and…

Fear.net has managed to asked Ashley Greene about Alice Cullen’s role in Eclipse! Exclusive: Ashley Greene on ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ and Bullying Taylor Lautner

You got to tear off a vampire’s head in Twilight and face off with the Volturi in New Moon. What can you tell us about the things you get to do in Eclipse, which we know from the book will have more of a fighting element?

The thing I’ll say about Twilight is, one, it’s given me this Hollywood crash course and I’ve been able to work with three great directors. And also, my character is an incredible character to break out with because she’s perky and happy and sweet, and she’s this best friend character that everybody loves, so it’s an amazing first character to have. Throughout the series you’ve gotten to see her go from really sweet to kind of sassy, and now in the third one we get to showcase this massive fight sequence that I’m a part of, so we got to get our action star fix. You get to see Alice get kind of down and dirty and see a really intense side of her that maybe you haven’t seen before.

They also did an interview with Daniel Cudmore who plays Felix in New Moon. Exclusive: Daniel Cudmore on ‘New Moon,’ ‘Eclipse,’ and Fighting Rob Pattinson

In the books Felix seemed to have a sort of minor flirtation with Bella – winking at her, etc. What’s your take on that?
I think it’s more of him showing his power over her and kind of messing around with her head. Letting her know that he could end things very quickly. He enjoys that.

Sadly, we don’t see much of the Volturi in New Moon because it serves as more of an introduction to their coven than in later books, when the Volturi have more of a presence. How much can we expect to see of you in Eclipse?

It’s not as much. You get to Eclipse and you’re introducing Riley’s storyline, Victoria coming back to get her vengeance. We’re still there and we still have a strong presence, and it’s not more dramatic but it’s still a really cool storyline.

Here an EXCLUSIVE: Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning on ‘Breaking Dawn’

FEARnet posed a similar question to Fanning, who plays the lead Volturi enforcer, Jane: Are you ready to portray a baby hunter? But Fanning, ever the professional, could not yet confirm her involvement in Breaking Dawn. “I don’t know if I’m going to be in it,” she demurred. Stewart turned to her. “You’re gonna be in the movie.”

While at ‘The Runaways’ premiere in NYC, Kristen talk more about her involvement in Breaking Dawm! Check it out here at Pop Sugar!

The Seattle Times has a Q&A Mellisa Rosenberg, the screen writer for Twilight, New Moon and the upcoming Eclipse!

Q: How closely did you work with Meyer?

A: With each movie, we’ve gotten closer. … On the first movie, I kept my process private. But then as I got to know her, I realized that was completely unnecessary, because she is incredibly collaborative, fluid and not precious about her work … With “New Moon,” she read all the drafts, but with “Eclipse,” I asked her to read the outline, which was very unusual. It’s very risky. It’s very early. That’s where I do a great deal of my work. … That’s when you’re structuring the story and deciding what’s in, what’s out, what’s invented, all that.

MTV Splashpage has an exclusive Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson FAME: COMIC BOOK by Bluewater Productions! Check out the cover page below and click on them to see what’s more in the comic book!

How Twilight Should have Ended. FUNNY!

From HISHE.com [How It Should Have Ended]…. Their version for Twilight. Enjoy, guys!

Stephenie Meyer answers fans’ Questions!

Stephenie has recently answer a WHOLE lot of the fan’s questions ever since The Twilight Saga: New Moon has hit the theaters! Questions about her books to her opinion on the movies and even one about Midnight Sun! Here’s a couple of them:

What was your favorite thing about Chris Weitz and how was his interpretation of the books different from Catherine Hardwicke? – Mira N.

My favorite thing about Chris Weitz: everything. Sounds hyperbole-ish, but he’s really that amazing. If you follow along on some of the cast interviews you’ll hear the same thing over and over. We all adore Chris. I would have to say that my very favorite thing about Chris as a director, coming from my unique position, is his passion for being true to the source material. He really immersed himself in the Twilight world and came to the set with the feel of it already in his head. We were very much on the same page. Second thing, he listens really well—to everybody, cast and crew.

In comparing New Moon to Twilight, I would say that the biggest difference in style is that Chris is more classic while Catherine is a little more edgy and modern. I wouldn’t want both movies to be the same, though. I like seeing different interpretations. After all, no two people see the same thing when they read a novel. I enjoy seeing that visually.

After that, I gave up the idea of creating a fake city and just hoped the people of Volterra did not mind a few vampires. When I went to visit a few years back, all the people I talked to were totally fine with the vampires—what had upset them was the fountain. They don’t have one, and think their square is perfect without it.

Do you make any appearances in the New Moon movie? – Mandy, Captain of Official Team Jacob

Nope. I felt really awkward doing the first one, and I still have to cover my eyes for that part of the movie. I decided this time I didn’t want to do anything like that, and it never came up, so problem averted!

My question for you is…. are you at all surprised by the variety in age of your readers? I am 32 years old and absolutely loved your books, and I know I am not alone, in many discussion groups I have found there are 30, 40, even 50 somethings reading twilight. Thanks and keep writing! – Amy B.

Because I wrote Twilight for my twenty-nine-year-old self and not for a future YA audience, it always made sense to me that women my age would get it the same way I did. Are you ever too old to remember falling in love for the first time?

I was wondering what made you choose Italy for the home of the Volturi? Is there a special meaning about Italy in your life or was it a random setting? Thanks :] – Kerry K.

I chose Italy because I needed a place with a really long history. Choosing Volterra itself was a strange thing. I wrote the whole Volturi scene before I’d picked a location for it. For the first time, I was planning to create a fictional city, because at this point, I was starting to realize that people were actually going to read this book, and I was nervous about what the real life citizens of Forks would think, and more especially what the real life people of La Push would think—I’d taken some rather big liberties with their fictional history, and I wasn’t sure if they would find it amusing or irritating. So, to avoid similar moments of panic, I decided to set my clan of ancient ruling vampires in a made up place. I was going to call this place “Volturin,” and I knew it needed to be located in Tuscany about an hour or two from Florence—I’d already written the drive from the airport. I’d also already written my descriptions of the plaza and clock tower and Volturi turret. So I pull up a map of Tuscany, trying to decide if Alice should drive north, south, east, or west, and look at that—there is a city named Volterra just about an hour from Florence. So I google image search Volterra, and the very first picture that comes up is the Volterra clock tower. Chills. I called my sister (who’d already read about my fictional Volturin) and told her to go look at Volterra. She freaked, too, because she’d pictured it the same way, too. It was actually a rather creepy moment.

Twilight/New Moon News

Twilighters! It’s confirmed! Robert and Kristen are dating as told by Catherine Hardwicke herself! For those who have The Straits Times (edit: Washinton Post and TIME magazine), flip over to the LIFE! Section and turn to page F26. For those who don’t here’s the quote from Catherine herself.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke said the film’s co-starts Kristen Stewart, 19, and Robert Pattinson, 23, are dating. ” I didn’thave a camera with in the hotel room,” she told time magazine. “But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie… it took a long time for Kristen to realise, okay, I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.

Lookout for the New Moon leads on Jimmy Kimmel next week where Jimmy puts the spot on Taylor to talk about “what’s going on between these two?” – pointing to Rob & Kristen ;)

Star Movies (Starhub Ch 58) will be screening Twilight on 22 November at 2100hrs. You can find more about it at Twilight – Star Movies.

MSN has a picture gallery of the New Moon casts promoting New Moon worldwide.

IT HAS been a hectic fortnight for Twilight trio Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart as they embarked on a worldwide tour promoting their wildy-anticipated movie, New Moon. The trio were joined by the film’s director Chris Weitz, who was protective of the young bunch as thousands of fans and media track their movements throughout the journey.

You can read more about it here.

You’ve seen Stephenie Meyer on Oprah. Examiner.com now has a write-up about the interview.

When she spoke about The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Meyer stated that she was most excited about the first scene she saw with the wolves. She said that the way that the film brought out the size and power of the wolves had her literally wanting to scream out loud with joy at the capture Chris Weitz had done with the picture.

She also revealed, exclusively to Oprah, the origins of the New Moon Volturi. She said that the New Moon story originally had a very tame and mild ending, but that her mother was the one to suggest a more action-oriented sequence near the end. This is, according to Stephenie Meyer’s revelation on Oprah, how the Volturi came to be.

New Moon News (Updated)

Whoa! Check this out! A NEW Bella & Edward Promotional Image! Soo cantik!!

The picture was revealed in a 5 page TIME Magazine article by Lev Grossman titled, Its Twilight In America. This article pretty much chronicles Twilight’s history and how it became a phenomenon of modern pop culture of our time. MUST KEEP Magazine!

Bella&EdwardEmbraceNM

The woman who would publish meyer, Megan Tingley, was handed the manuscript in November 2003, right before she got on a cross-country flight to California. She wasn’t expecting great things. She’d never heard of Meyer. Nobody had. She wasn’t a vampire fan either.

But she spent the entire flight riveted by that 600-page bundle of paper. “I kept thinking, Well, she can’t possibly sustain this,” Tingley remembers. “The whole book is going to fall apart. She’s a first-time writer. I was with a colleague, and he was trying to sleep, and I kept pulling him awake and reading passages to him.”

Even though it was an early draft — back then Bella and her undead boyfriend Edward actually got married at the end — by the time she got off the plane, Tingley was desperate to buy it. But it was a Friday, and everyone was gone for the day. “So I just left a bunch of insane messages back at Little, Brown and with the agent and said, ‘Call me Monday. We have to talk!’” she says. “I pre-empted it on Monday from a street in San Francisco on my cell phone.”

… Little, Brown published Twilight on Oct. 5, 2005. It printed 75,000 copies, a generous but not stupendous number. “All the signs were there, but at the beginning they were modest,” Tingley says. “The sales kept getting a little higher each week. It wasn’t a gigantic phenomenon overnight — I think people think that now, but it wasn’t.” Lori Joffs, a stay-at-home mom in Nashville, read it three months later. Like Meyer, she’s a Mormon, but she’d put off starting the book because she didn’t think a Mormon writer could do vampires. “I read all night, closed the book, took a deep breath and opened it back up to reread several chapters,” she says. Joffs went looking online for other people who felt the same way, but she didn’t find many. So she put up her own website, the Twilight Lexicon, which now attracts more than 50,000 visitors a day.

New Moon was published on Sept. 6, 2006, less than a year after Twilight. Little, Brown printed 100,000 copies, a modest increase, but the company quickly realized something had changed. Advance copies were popping up on eBay for hundreds of dollars. Meyer’s readings were turning into mob scenes. “We were outside Philly at a suburban Barnes & Noble,” Tingley says. “The kids had been cutting school to get these tickets and waiting in line forever. When Stephenie came out, these girls next to me started trembling and crying and grabbing each other. It was crazy … it was like the newsreels of the Beatles or Elvis.” When Eclipse came out a year later, the publisher printed a million copies.

…But Hardwicke saw something there, and she wanted in. She read the Twilight books. Then she threw the Paramount script away and called Rosenberg, who worked with Summit before, and they started over. She also began the hunt for her leading couple.

Hardwicke spotted Kristen Stewart in Into the Wild, in which Stewart makes a brief but indelible appearance as a roller-skate-skinny underage seductress. Hardwicke flew to Pittsburgh, Pa., where Stewart was making Adventureland. “We spent four hours working on scenes and running after birds in the park and playing. The next day when I saw the film, I knew, yes, it has to be. She is Bella.” It was a good match for Stewart too. “It was like, wow!” the actress remembers. “I want to play like this all the time!”

… Selling Pattinson to Summit was tougher. He wasn’t a star — his biggest role was Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire — and he didn’t look like a star. “He was disheveled,” Hardwicke says. “He was a different weight. His hair was different and dyed black [he had just played Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes]. He was all sloppy. The studio head said, ‘You want to cast this guy as Edward Cullen?’ I said yeah. And he said, ‘Do you think you can make him look good?’ I said yes, I do.”

Twilight News

The New York Times has just posted a great article on how Twilight fans are literally boosting the economy of a li’l town in Washington named Forks.. :) and we love it!

NewYorkTimesForks

Jane Margolies of The New York Times writes:

….Over the last year or so, Forks (population 3,120) has morphed into a mecca for Twilighters, or Twihards as they are sometimes called. Visitors to this rainy town, whose main industries are logging and two correctional facilities, have more than tripled for the first eight months of this year, compared with the same period last year, according to the local Chamber of Commerce. Lodging occupancy is up, and local merchants sell little-vampire pacifiers and Bella and Edward action figures.

“You used to say you were from Forks and people would stare,” said Marcia Bingham, director of the Chamber of Commerce, referring to the “B.T.” (“Before ‘Twilight’ ”) days. “Now when they hear where you’re from, they’re breathless.” (TS: hahaha so true so true;))

….The Pacific Inn Motel decorated a single “Twilight” guestroom last November, painting the walls black and red and putting up movie posters; it now has six of the theme rooms. “They had really cool ‘Twilight’ towels,” said Emma Hand, 14, who stayed in one of the rooms in August with her brother and parents on a cross-country trek from their home in Falls Church, Va.

Revenue from a local hotel occupancy tax is up 26 percent over last year, according to a Forks City Council member, Bruce Guckenberg, who also manages Sully’s Burgers, home of the pineapple-topped Bella Burger (plastic fangs included).

Charlene Leppell’s longtime flower and gift shop was on the brink of closing until she started printing up “Bella for Prom Queen” T-shirts and applying glitter to red ceramic apples. Now her shop, renamed Twilight Central, is doing so well that “the question isn’t whether I could afford to take a vacation this year,” Ms. Leppell said, “but whether I couldtake off time from the store.”

Read the 2 page article at New York Times.

While at the Christian Science Monitor they have this article : Twilight helps Forks, Washington beat the recession.

….To cater to starry-eyed fans, Forks’ Chamber of Commerce launched a van tour that points out spots featured in the Twilight books. The town even created a “reserved” parking spot at the local hospital for the fictional character Dr. Carlisle Cullen.

….Forks isn’t the only town that’s benefitting from Twilight mania. Port Angeles, Wash., a town northeast of Forks, where Bella has her first dining experience with Edward and shops at a bookstore, has been a draw as well. This year, fans visited the restaurant, Bella Italia, where the couple dine in the first Twilight movie, and purchased 4,500 $17 bowls of mushroom ravioli (which Bella ordered in the movie and the book). Meanwhile, Margolies reports that the bookstore Bella declines to visit because of its new age vibe – Port Book and News – says business has increased by as much as 20 percent.

Heads up guys! Well The Twilight DVD has just been released in Japan today. We have yet to find out the complete contents of the special features in this DVD but there are a couple of familiar videos on it. ;) Though these 2 versions are a little more HD than the ones we took at the Twilight Premiere in Tokyo in February, they also offer us some cool unseen footage during the premiere.

At 3:26 is Twilight Singapore’s question to Robert, Kristen and Taylor regarding their preparations for Twilight.

Woot!! Everytime I see this part (4:20) - one can’t help but WISH there was a Robsten! hehe ;)

Of course for the NON-EDITED version, click here for Twilight Singapore’s Complete Coverage of  Twilight’s Premiere in Tokyo!!! Including some extra stuff..hehe
