Twilight & New Moon news

HELLO EVERYONE, I’M BACK FROM MY MOVIE WITH AISHAH! How did you guys enjoy yours? Go over to the Twilight Movie Discussion post and talk about how much you loved or hated the movie (I’ll be there to debate!
) and if you want to catch it again, do come with us to the Movie Outing this Saturday!
Right, Twilight news rolling on along!
Kristen and Nikki were spotted at the Affliction store. See pictures here @ Twilight Online!
See, they’re best buddies. Kristen also has a Q&A with BlackBook, read it here!
Go over to MTV to vote on the current casting crisis over who should play Jacob Black. Currently “Keep Taylor Lautner” is the winning option. Similarly, People has a poll on the same issue. Taylor Lautner was also recently on an Australian radio station, you can listen to his interview with them here.
Stephenie Meyer’s website was recently updated with this important announcement:
It has come to our attention that there are several people on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook pretending to be Stephenie. The only site besides StephenieMeyer.com that Stephenie has is a MySpace site at www.myspace.com/stephenie_meyer. Only announcements on this website and Stephenie’s official MySpace page should be considered legitimate. Please note, due to the overwhelming number of e-mails she receives on her MySpace page, Stephenie is unable to answer e-mails.
Also, Stephenie is aware of the numerous Twilight conventions happening next year. It is exciting to see so many fans wanting to celebrate the books together. However, these conventions are not authorized or endorsed by Stephenie and she will not be attending any of the conventions. We hope that fans enjoy the conferences, but wanted to make this distinction so people weren’t spending money under the assumption that Stephenie would be in attendance.
Do take note, all right!
Speaking of Stephenie, she has been named on Time’s People of the Year 2008 list, under “People Who Mattered”. See the short article about her here.
“Twilight” sequel already feels the bite of fans. The full article simply mentions about casting problems and of Chris Weitz taking over to be the new director.
An interview with Rob:
Rob also has an interview with FILMdetail. It’s an audio, so listen to it here.
Peter Facinelli’s 11-year-old daughter, Luca Bella, feels weird that people think her father is hot, now that he’s involved in Twilight.
MySpace has a competition, where you have to tell them how many times you’ve seen Twilight, do a bit more stuff and you stand a chance to win a special greeting from Rob on New Year’s Eve. Go here for more details.
Just wanted to post this, because I’d found it while Googling that A-word (this is a spoiler, so I won’t state what the word is, but it’s the one about vampires!), that I’d found the screenplay for Twilight. You need to have Flash installed to be able to read it.
Twilight has currently grossed a total of $203,428,631 according to Box Office Mojo. Good news! Let’s up those digits more, shan’t we?
Twilight News

First off, just a personal thing: I can’t believed I have waited one full year for Twilight to come to Singapore, but it’s happening, it’s going to open in cinemas tomorrow islandwide. I just want to give a hug to all of you who waited just like me – tomorrow we’ll all be Twilight Singaporeans! Just FYI, we are organizing the movie outing, head over here for more details. Let’s all work and make Twilight #1 in the box office!
Heading on with Twilight news, the last part from Kristen’s audio interview during her European tour:
You can find the rest of the interview here.
Another video, once again, of Kristen.
Empire has video interviews.
Kristen Stewart’s: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid494808768/bctid4929724001
The book she mentioned was “East of Eden” by John Steinback.
Robert Pattinson’s: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid494808768/bctid4919090001
He mentioned Van Morrison, and I think the song he chose, “Beside You” is by Van Morrison. The book he said was “Ulysses” by James Joyce. For the record, Luke Perry did not play a vampire in Buffy but I guess it’s just Rob. ![]()
Catherine Hardwicke’s: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid494808768/bctid4932998001
So, uh, you know how Rob doesn’t wash his hair right. Apparently this company called Axe Hair is offering him “a lifetime supply of products”. (Think three bottles, probably.) Publicity stunt? I’m betting so, because until now, I have never heard of that brand before. Plus, we all live for Rob’s sexy and dirty hair, so they can Axe the deal! Heehee.
Okay, next, I’m dying with laughter at the following article, but read it anyway: Rob is rumoured to play Jack Sparrow’s brother. Oh yes you read that right, but if you’re a Johnny Depp + Rob fan, you might want to cross your fingers for that since it’s only a rumour.
Rob has made it to MTV news’ Men of the Year at #4! Yay! With regards to New Moon, Rob and Kristen talk about the expectations.
WHO IS GOING TO WATCH TWILIGHT TOMORROW?
Twilight & New Moon news

New Moon’s official release date in the US: 20 November 2009! Are you excited? I hope New Moon will come to Singapore earlier than Twilight did, especially since New Moon’s release date is around the same as Twilight’s. There is a short article here.
Kristen Stewart video interviews up next:
Essentially, she’s just saying that guys who went into the audition acting perfect were gross, and that she liked how Rob went in looking “frazzled”.
She’s lively in this video!
The following videos are audio only, done during her European tour.
Exclusive Film24 interviews with the cast and stuff:
Twilight News

Kristen says, “Kids have been mean to me.” That’s pretty sad, considering it was only one movie she’d done back then and yet people still picked on her.
Perry Ferrell’s “Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)” music video has debuted. Go here to see it, and comment about it. Was it good, or too weird?
Just a short update post. I’ll bring you more goodies the next time!
Twilight News

I ask him whether he’s ever been in love and he says, “I guess so.” Then, because for some sadistic reason I feel like torturing him, I ask what it felt like. He looks puzzled, so I tell him about what I call the “clunk moment” — when you look at someone you fancy and realise you’re so into them, there might be no turning back. “I just got that feeling as you said that,” he says. “But I’m not sure if it’s related,” he mutters.
Read the rest of the interview with Robert Pattinson here, and don’t get too jealous okay!
Just a short repetitive article by Variety on Chris Weitz and the sequel and stuff you already know, but just in case you want to read.
Twilight Online has scans of the trading cards. You might want to take a look.
The release date for Little Ashes in the US is March 27 2009. Funnily enough, Kristen’s next film, Adventureland, will also be released on the same day. Coincidence? But I’m sure there’ll be a lot of comparisons by critics even though the only similarity between these two movies are the leads.
If ‘Twilight’ Was 10 Times Shorter And 100 Times More Honest – this article is by Cracked.com, and they always, always make fun of things, so if you don’t wish to read about people poking fun at Twilight, then I think you shouldn’t read it, but it’s really funny!
That’s all for now!

The Dark Knight vs Twilight: Which one gets your vote? SodaHead wants to know in a poll. Personally, I didn’t vote, LOL.
Seventeen interviewed Robert Pattinson and has posted videos of his responses to the few questions that they’d asked. It’s so funny to see him getting weirded out by us fans. Check out his answer to “Would you ever date a fan or a regular girl?” Also, learn why his modelling career failed here.

Twilight News

Haiyo, you all ah! Chris Weitz is not the official new director yet! Fret not, my friends. I hope Summit can find a new film maker that has the ability to take over the reigns from Catherine Hardwicke and do the sequels justice.
Although Weitz was indeed offered the high-profile gig, the “American Pie” filmmaker has spent much of the week contemplating his participation. According to “Twilight” studio Summit Entertainment, the deal remains unconsummated.
“No, it is not official,” a studio representative told MTV News on Thursday evening (December 11). “We are not confirming anything at this point. He is not signed on as the director.”
This is contrary to the earlier report by EW that Chris Weitz has been confirmed.
Head on over to MTV to get a sneak peek at Perry Farrell’s “Go All the Way” music video. Farrell also apparently told MTV that “he and Etty are both “Twilight” fans and would love to write a song for the sequel — as long as the new director wants him.” I think his song was quite good, so why not?
There is speculation that Michael Copon is the new Jacob Black. What do you think? Too far from the Native American description? Or a good change from Taylor Lautner?
Other than Catherine having revealed last month that a “Midnight Sun” scene will be in the DVD, MTV also has a new article up with Catherine discussing more stuff, including deleted scenes, commentary and when the DVD arrives in stores.
“We just did the commentary,” Hardwicke grinned when she came to visit our studio right after “Twilight” opened, revealing that she had spent time in an audio booth with stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart that very morning. “We were like, ‘Is this the lamest commentary ever?’ We were just laughing!
Read the rest of the article with Catherine here! It’s so funny. There’s a video included, too.
Also, Everglow has a new photo of Kristen Stewart at Comic-Con. Pretty hot, eh?
Rob & Kris @ La Boîte à questions! It’s only three questions, but it’s such a cute, awkward moment between the two of them!
Twilight News

KRISTEN STEWART: I like Rob’s song. I haven’t even seen the movie with the finished soundtrack, but he got his song in there. He doesn’t like talking about it because he thinks people are going to say he’s trying jumpstart his music career and capitalize on the success of Twilight. However, that’s not what he’s doing, and I’ll promote him if he doesn’t want to do it. [Laughs]
Did that excerpt make you happy? Robert, Kristen, Ashley, Catherine and Stephenie discuss a little about music. Read the rest of the interview here! Note: Due to their discussion of placement of music in the movie, there are minor spoilers. Just avert your eyes.
The people behind the film from UK have created a Twilight themed Windows Live Messenger pack! Just click here and download it and voila, you’re ready to go and boast to your friends about the new look your WLM is sporting.
Apparently Robert Pattinson doesn’t own a cellphone. FYI, Robert Pattinson had said before that the truth is he owns a pay-as-you-go phone. Such phones work just like our own local prepaid cards, except it’s much more convenient. As the name goes, the user will be charged for the minutes used and the number can be changed easily.
Also, sources say stars Robert Pattinson, 22, and Kristin Stewart, 18, will get huge salary boosts from the $2 million each earned for “Twilight” — reportedly $10 million more, per film, plus a nice percentage of the future movies’ box-office take.
The full article is here. I’m glad they’re getting such large paychecks to add to their banks.
If you guys sort of cannot wait and need judgement on the movie, here’s a slightly bigger spoiler: The top 10 things Twilight fans loved and hated about the Twilight movie. Nope, I did not read it, but you could, if you wanted to.
An interview with Robert, Kristen and Taylor:

Twilight News

Just one article:
‘Summit Entertainment’s “Twilight” grossed a staggering $35.7 million from 3,419 runs on Friday to score the second biggest opening day gross outside of summer after “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” which grossed $40.4 million on its first Friday in November 2005.
The friday number for “Twilight”–which has made Summit the envy of every major studio–includes $7 million in Thursday midnight shows.
Summit also announced plans to move ahead with “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon.”
Box observers are waiting to see how much the teen vampire romance drops on Saturday after such a robust Friday. The sheer volume of traffic on Friday was evidence of the boffo success of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series. More than 17 million copies of her four books have sold nationwide.
“Twilight” is on its way to marking the biggest opening gross in history for a female director, Catherine Hardwicke.
Film seemed to take a bite out of Disney’s 3-D toon “Bolt,” which grossed an estimated $7 million as it opened Friday in 3,651 theaters, including 900+ 3-D runs. For example, Utah theaters are generally a hotbed for Disney fare, but on Friday, “Twilight” dominated. One of the biggest fan groups of Meyer’s books are Mormons, as she is a Mormon.
That put “Bolt” at No. 3 for the day, with Sony/MGM’s James Bond installment “Quantum of Solace” taking the No. 2 spot. “Quantum” grossed an estimated $8.3 million to $8.5 million from 3,458 runs on Friday for a cume of $90.2 million. “Quantum” will have no trouble jumping the $100 million mark at the domestic box office in its second sesh.
“Bolt,” however, could move into second position for the weekend, since family pics generate strong Saturday biz.
On the specialty side, Fox Searchlight’s “Slumdog Millionaire” continued to please as it headed into its second frame. The Danny Boyle-directed film grossed an estimated $249,000 as it expanded to 32 theaters on Friday for a per screen average of $7,781 and a cume of $870,139. Pic was up 19% in holdover theaters. Warner Bros. is Searchlight’s partner on “Slumdog”.’
From Variety!
Come on guys, we know you are excited, overjoyed and as of now, so proud that the movie is doing well!

Twilight Breaking News
Decode by Paramore was on 987FM just now! I wasn’t paying close attention, but I do know that the host for the show is called Jacque (pronounced as ‘Jackie’) and the song was Jac’s Track, or something like that. The process is whereby she plays the song and if you like it and want to see it on the 987FM playlist, you should message in your choice!
Unfortunately, in my frenzy, I didn’t take note of the right process, but all I know is that the text format begins with “Jacque”. If you’re a frequent 987FM listener, do tell us the correct way and which number to send in our message to. Thank you!
And do keep a lookout for Decode on the radio, it just might come to Singapore.
EDIT: The number to send in your request is 72346 (radio).

Lion & Lamb Love has photos of Rob, Kristen and Catherine at the Rome Film Festival here (on the red carpet) and here (at the photocall).
An 8-minute scene video has been released at the Rome Film Festival. It’s not very clear, but just bear with it. After all, we’ll be seeing it in the movie!
Videos of the Q&A session with the cast.
I think the host is a little weird. He kind of messed up the characters’ and actors’ names.
That’s all, but it’s enough to make me squeal.
Twilight News
Just some minor updates about merchandise and stuff. First off, Paramore has performed ‘Decode’ live for the very first time! The second video has much better audio quality, but the first video documents the whole performance.
Amazon has released a “Twilight Limited Edition Official Complete Jewelry Set of the Cullen Family”. The product description reads:
Twilight Limited Edition Official Complete Jewelry Set of the Cullen Family includes: Edward Wristcuff, Alice’s Choker, Rosalie’s Necklace, Esme’s Bracelet, and Carlile’s Ring. All come in a disp[lay Jewelry case w/ Cullen Crest. Set also includes limited Autographed Post Card by Peter Facinelli (Dr Cullen)
There is no picture at the source yet, but I’m doubting the authenticity of this, due to the spelling errors and lack of product image. However, I am still yearning for Edward’s wristcuff and Alice’s choker!
That’s all for now.
Twilight News
Here’s an article about fashion in Twilight, since it plays such a big part. The best thing? Well now you know that Edward Cullen wears American Apparel.
An Edward Cullen action figure is going to be out soon.
“Based on the best selling four part novel series by Stephenie Meyer, The Twilight film is going to be a huge success, and the Edward Cullen figure is a must have for any fan of the books or devotee to actor Robert Pattinson.”
You can find out more information about it here. Before you click on the link, however, I’m going to bet that your jaws will drop when you see the picture of it.
There are a lot of movie stills here and be happy about it. Be happy. You have never had so much eye candy in your life before. Of course, if you want to remain spoiler-free, you may!
The V Man photoshoot with the Twilight guys is out! Here’s the article:
Spoiler alert: If you want to find out how Twilight ends, all you need to do is pick up the book. The film, which comes out this November, is an adaptation of the first volume in Arizona author Stephenie Meyer’s popular vampire quadrilogy, a set of sentimental tales about the impossible love between an ordinary 17-year-old high school girl and her classmate, a beautiful 110-year-old bloodsucker, who refuses to bite her and damn her to his sort of immortality. In other words, it’s your regular teenage romance. “The story has elements of Romeo + Juliet and Titanic,” says director Catherine Hardwicke (Lords of Dogtown, Thirteen), “but it’s also got sexual tension, the supernatural, and a guy who’s fighting his own impulses in order to stay in the relationship. It’s really very sexy. Who hasn’t fallen for the wrong person? It’s like, ‘I know that this is the last person I should let my heart go to, but it’s already gone.’”
So far, audiences seem sold on the film, sight unseen. Twilight cost $37 million to make, but judging from the groundswell of support from Meyer’s fans—many of them teenage girls—producers should have little trouble recouping their costs, especially considering the ensemble cast of young male heartthrobs they’ve assembled. Meyer may not be J.K. Rowling, but she’s certainly no slouch. The final book in the series, Breaking Dawn, sold about 1.3 million copies on the day it was released last August (about a sixth of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ first day). Translation rights to the books have been sold in thirty-three different countries, and the second, New Moon, spent thirty-three weeks on the New York Times children’s best-seller list. Vampire stories have some staying power—especially vampire stories about lovelorn kids.
In adapting the first book, Hardwicke and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg opted to stay faithful to Meyer’s narrative. (Probably a wise decision, considering how rabid the readership is.) Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is an average teen living in Phoenix who decides to move to her father’s house in Forks, Washington, a dreary place where it rains three-quarters of the year, to give her mother and her new stepfather time to travel. At school, Bella meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), an alluring and initially distant presence, whom she begins to suspect is a vampire. As it turns out, Edward belongs to a coven of beautiful vegetarian vamps—a family of sorts, brought together by a shared mandate to drink animal blood instead of the human kind.
The two begin a relationship, fraught with all the usual, uh, interfaith difficulties. Meanwhile, a rival group of equally beautiful but less friendly bloodsuckers descends on the town, one of whom decides to hunt Bella for sport. The chase is on, and it’s up to Edward to save her. “It’s just such a great metaphor for unrequited love,” says Rosenberg. “Bella feels very normal, and that can be hard when she’s surrounded by these modelesque figures, who are so difficult to relate to physically. It’s the same for any kid growing up in L.A., when you’re surrounded by models and actors.”
Perhaps energized by the beauty-myth subtext and the allure of forbidden love, Meyer’s fan base has proven to be an active one. Groups like Twilighters, Twi-Hards, and even Twilight Moms have organized online, and in July they flocked to San Diego’s Comic-Con, where Meyer, Hardwicke, Rosenberg, and members of the principal cast showed footage and took questions from the crowd—at least when they could be heard over the screams. The response to actors Robert Pattinson, Cam Gigandet, and Taylor Lautner was “a little like the Beatles on Ed Sullivan,” Rosenberg recalls. “It was insanity.” The coming-of-age story’s sequels have yet to be planned, but given the reaction so far, Hardwicke is sanguine about her chances of revisiting the series. “I mean,” she says, “who wouldn’t want to be bitten on the neck by a handsome vampire?”
The pictures are after the cut!

Twilight News
E! Online has an article talking about Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, sequels and… gasp! Paramore has a place on the movie soundtrack! This news is further confirmed by Hayley herself on their blog entry, saying: “we are back home. recording again for a possible shot at the twilight soundtrack!”

However, according to Giornale dello Spettacolo, the worldwide premiere of Twilight would be at the Rome Film Festival on 31 October. Hmm, either way, I guess we would not be able to be there! The whole of Giornale dello Spettacolo is Spanish by the way, so no use trying. I used an online translator.
POPSTAR! magazine is out, and there are are two pages of our beloved Twilight guys:

Just to share with you the Korean book covers of Twilight and New Moon respectively, because I think they are absolutely gorgeous!

That’s it for today so far!
Twilight News (Bad News!)
A small article telling us about Twilight stuff we already know was in the Life! section of The Straits Times today, page 4 I think. Nothing was extraordinary except for the line right after little blue thing smack on top.

Sometimes I wish cinemas and newspaper journalists could communicate more often but that’s not the point, the point is that if we don’t get our movie on December 18, I’m totally jumping to another continent that is getting the movie earlier to watch it.
Although, let’s just say that I am confident that the movie is coming out December 18. For now.

xlormp, The Most Popular Book in the Whole World has been featured in Livejournal’s Spotlight and is gaining fame. It is a parody of the Twilight series, but not in a condescending or mean way. I recommend you read it, because it has been the source of my tummyache for the past few days.

Surprise surprise! We’re going to have an unauthorised biography of our dearest Robert Pattinson!
Attention Team Edward!
On October 21, the Bowen Press imprint at HarperCollins Children’s Books will publish Robert Pattinson: Eternally Yours by Isabelle Adams, an unauthorized biography of Robert Pattinson, the actor who plays Edward Cullen in the forthcoming movie version of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight.
The paperback original, which is the only biography of the actor on the market, was originally scheduled to be published November 4, but when the Twilight film moved to November 21 from December 12, HarperCollins adjusted its pub date as well. Harry Potter fans may also remember Pattinson as Cedric Diggory in two of the films.
(Credits to Children’s Bookshelf.)
It is already available for pre-ordering on Amazon.com, and you can see the cover of the book here.
We have a new picture of Edward and Bella! Click here to see it.
Many articles have been recently written about Stephenie Meyer’s decision to currently stop writing of Midnight Sun. NY Mag criticises Stephenie for this, citing the many advantages for the leaked chapters of the book. On the other hand, Twilight Guy steps up to defend the author who created this saga. Whose side are you on?
If you’re interested on how Stephenie’s directorial debut for Jack’s Mannequin’s The Resolution is going, MTV wrote an article on it. She’s using mermaids by the way, and from the looks of it, filming is going pretty well so far.
Rob was caught out and about again. He looked extremely drunk, and guess what? A girl tried to attack him! Watch the video here. Pictures of him over here.
Talking about him, TM-F did an article on Rob playing Salvador Dali in Little Ashes and asked if he could play a good Dali. What do you think?

Hollywood Insider edited in a small paragraph into its article on Catherine Hardwicke returning to shoot Twilight:
UPDATE: Twilighters, never fear. We want to clear up one crucial fact: Rob Pattinson’s music will in fact appear in Twilight. According to director Catherine Hardwicke, two of Pattinson’s songs that he wrote before Twilight started filming are going to be featured in the movie. In fact, they recorded them this month. And while Hardwicke wanted Pattinson to write Bella’s Lullaby for the film, Hardwicke says Pattinson’s music is very personal. “I don’t think he does it on request,” she writes in an e-mail. “His two songs are pretty great.”
Little, Brown has commented on Stephenie Meyer’s decision to halt continuation of Midnight Sun:
“A partial draft containing chapters of Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer has been leaked on the Internet without the knowledge or permission of either Stephenie Meyer or Little, Brown. Although these early chapters were never intended to be published in their current form, Stephenie Meyer has decided to authorize the posting of these rough, initial chapters on her website (www.stepheniemeyer.com) in fairness to her true, loyal fans. While no decisions have been made at this time regarding the publication of Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer is currently at work on other writing projects. Little, Brown looks forward to our continued publishing relationship with Stephenie Meyer and, like her many fans, we are eager to experience her next literary creation.”

Also, remember the Borders 2009 Twilight calendar? Fanny, a fellow Singaporean Twilighter, posted an entry:
I email-ed Borders Singapore last week, asking about when I can get the Twilight Movie Calendar or whether I can pre order it or not. And here is their reply :
“With regards to your email dated 29th August 2008, we are sorry to inform you that our stocks for calendars will arrive only towards the end of the year and thus, we are unable to provide you with any information at the moment. Please do get back to us sometime in November when our stocks start arriving. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

Although it is still almost a month away from the North American release dates, it’s better than nothing! So, remember to mark it out in your calendars: 18 December 2008.
