Cast News – Kristen Stewart gracing the cover of Vogue – Feb 2011

To start off the new year we get to see Kristen Stewart on the cover of a major fashion magazine! Vogue!!

The reporter from VogueEve MacSweeney shares with us how it was like to interview Kristen.

Vogue.com: Where did you interview Kristen?
Eve MacSweeney: Since she had just started a year’s worth of filming of the two-part finale of the Twilight Saga in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I went there to see her. It’s a fairly small town, so at first I thought it would be fun for her to show me around and visit the local places she likes. Wrong! I totally underestimated how hard it is for her to go anywhere without being mobbed. We met in the house of a friend of hers on a gated property, and even then, if she caught sight of a teenage girl in the distance, she would virtually drop to the floor so as not to be seen.

Vogue.com: Did anything surprise you about Kristen?
Eve MacSweeney: Since, as she herself put it, “I just can’t go to the mall,” she’s developed some unexpected hobbies. She likes golf (lots of space, not a lot of human contact), and she really is an excellent self-taught cook. She told me she reads food magazines and watches a lot of cooking shows. When we met, she made an amazing tortilla soup with all kinds of accoutrements, (see recipe here) along with pulled pork. Delicious!

Vogue.com: What did you learn about her approach to fashion?
Eve MacSweeney: She had fun with the Proenza Schouler boys in our photo shoot, and she definitely keeps a young spirit in the way she dresses, like wearing short, not long. When she’s dressing for an event she likes to keep things spontaneous—she has her stylist pull three or four looks and puts on whatever she feels best in at that moment.

Vogue.com: How does she feel about playing Bella Swan?
Eve MacSweeney: Kristen takes her responsibilities to Twilight fans incredibly seriously, because she knows how important it is to them that the Bella they see on-screen is true to the character in the books, which she reads and rereads on set. She was joking about the honeymoon scene in Brazil, which she had just come back from filming. As she tries to seduce Edward (Robert Pattinson) in a sexy negligee, the crew was urging her to “shake it up a bit.” But she said, “I was like ‘Aaaah!’ I couldn’t do it. It would have gone against everything I’ve ever been used to playing with her.”

The Interview :

( A must read!!)

On a fall weekend in a quiet, suburban part of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the town where the Breaking Dawn set is located (under much secrecy and heavy confidentiality agreements), Stewart, a sylph in tomboyish jeans and a lumberjack shirt, is moving around the kitchen of a friend’s house, cracking her knuckles as she talks. She gets nervous dealing with the media—TV interviews in particular, she says, make her squirm—and she is sometimes accused of being downbeat and defensive in her public appearances, not least because she rarely smiles. She nurses some bad-girl tics, smoking and littering her conversation with expletives, and maintains an insouciance in the face of her big career. “I choose things that are so overly ambitious, and if I can’t do stuff like that, I don’t want to be doing this,” she says. Scratch the surface, however, and the attitude seems more about the passion and perfectionism she feels about her work than the opposite. “A compulsion absolutely fills you,” she says of finding a good part, and admits that she sometimes has difficulty letting go.

To a large segment of the population, Stewart may have sprung fully formed onto the screen as an incarnation of their favorite heroine. (At last count, Stephenie Meyer’s books have sold some 100 million copies worldwide.) But, despite her youth, Stewart has made more than 20 films, many of them independent and nearly all of them stellar, and pulled off such pitfall-ridden roles as a teenage rape victim and a girl disabled by neurological illness. She grew up in the Valley, the daughter in a family on the more nuts-and-bolts side of the industry—her mother is a script supervisor, her father a TV producer; her brother is a grip. After being spotted as a child at a school performance, Stewart walked straight onto the A-list, taking her first proper role in 2001’s The Safety of Objects, an adaptation of an A. M. Homes story collection, alongside Glenn Close and Patricia Clarkson, and her second in Panic Room, a virtual two-hander with Jodie Foster. “At that time I just thought it was fun,” she says, grateful that she began her career before adolescent insecurities set in. “I don’t think I would ever have been able to be an actress had I not started at nine years old. I would have been the last person to stand up and say, ‘I’d like to star in the play.’ ”

She can pinpoint the week she stopped being “some girl” and entered the land of 24-hour security, lockdowns, and endless speculation about her relationship with her costar-boyfriend Robert Pattinson, which she refuses to discuss. (“It’s not my job.”) She had completed the first Twilight movie, which had not yet been released, and just filmed Welcome to the Rileys in New Orleans, where, she says, “I feel so good walking down the street by myself,” before correcting herself: “At least I used to.” She went back for an extra week of work during editing, and suddenly she couldn’t walk down the street anymore. “It really erupted,” she says. “It was a weird thing to watch.”

Stewart, who is careful never to complain about the mixed blessing of the Twilight phenomenon, is smart enough to understand the nature of her particular celebrity. “Masses of girls identified with Bella in a really profound way, for want of a better word,” she says. “The connection that I’ve seen people have . . . I’ve seen it physically. It’s the characters they’re flipping for.” She also feels the power for good that comes with her influence. “It’s funny when you are endowed not only with public recognition on a fucking seriously vast level, but also money,” she says with endearing earnestness. “Like, funds.” (She was reportedly paid $25 million for the two films of Breaking Dawn, plus a percentage of the gross.) “Anytime I hear that somebody’s really rich, the first question is ‘Do you do anything with it? Or do you, like, chill? You just sit on it?’” She is thinking carefully, strategically, about how best to put her own contribution to use, and has a plan—inspired by her researches for the role of a runaway in the sex trade—to set up a network of halfway houses to help those who want to recover and get back on their feet. “That would be amazing,” she says. “Right now it’s the thing I feel most connected to.”

WOW!! Kristen’s putting her money to good use. We really hope her plan works out with all that research she’s doing. Good on you Kristen! And we’re dying to try the tortilla soup! She likes spicy food and we think she’ll be at home in Singapore :)

Breaking Dawn News – Fans in Baton Rouge on rooftops of goverment buildings to watch BD filming

‘Twilight’ fans brave cold in hopes of glimpsing stars

Jamie Ryan, 28, said it was her first time visiting Baton Rouge as she peered over the ledge of the State Capitol building’s observation deck on Friday afternoon, bundled up against the cold wind that whipped her hair around.

She’d flown in from Lubbock, Texas, on Thursday and had been perched on the lookout post for more than four hours with brand-new binoculars pressed to her face.

But Ryan wasn’t interested in the sights of the capital city — her eyes were locked on the enormous green screen erected in Arsenal Park, trying to catch sight of the stars of the “Twilight” movie filming there.

“I’m staying right here,” she said of her spot, where at least five other fans lingered around her. “I am determined to see something.”

“Twilight” mania hit the streets of downtown Baton Rouge this week when the movie’s crew began building a massive green backdrop near the State Capitol building that sent the local rumor mill and online forums into a frenzy.

“Twilight: Breaking Dawn” is the final installment in the blockbuster vampire film series that has 16-year-old girls and 50-year-old men alike lining up at theaters for each movie’s premiere.

Information on what producers were shooting at the location or how long crews will film in front of the green screen was unavailable.

The fans that gathered Friday were just a few of the hundreds of people who have become enamored by the film’s production, often flocking to local restaurants or stores if word gets out that a star was spotted there.

Nicole Sloane runs a Facebook group dedicated to tracking “Twilight” celebrity sightings in Baton Rouge and giving fans updates on the production. The group has grown to nearly 10,000 members.

Sloane, of West Baton Rouge, said fans of the “Twilight” saga include men and women of all ages who have come to Baton Rouge from throughout the country, and even two fans from France, in hopes of spotting the film’s stars.

“We went from having five fans the first day to 1,000 the second,” Sloane said. “The feedback from these fans is just amazing. It’s the story, the cast, everything together that just ensnares people.”

While filming will be wrapping up in the coming weeks, those involved with the production say the fans will continue to flock to Baton Rouge.

“We have only scratched the surface on what this production could ultimately mean to the local economy,” said Patrick Mulhearn, director of studio operations at Celtic. “(These) fans are so incredibly passionate, it is likely that 10 years from now they will still be coming to Baton Rouge to see where scenes were filmed and where the cast lived and hung out.”

Sloane said many of the members of her group visited Baton Rouge for the first time during the filming but “completely fell in love” with the city.

“They’ve met other fans and made friendships,” Sloane said. “They always tell me they’re definitely coming back.”

Breaking Dawn News – BD filming in Arsenal Park, Baton Rouge/BD Vampires about town/ Angela Sarafyan talks to MTV

Breaking Dawn has made TV local news in Baton Rouge! Check out WBRZ’s coverage of its filming in the town’s Arsenal Park.

BATON ROUGE- Twilight has taken over downtown Baton Rouge.  Or at least the Arsenal Park near the State Capitol building.

Filming for the fourth addition to the Twilight Saga is scheduled to take place tonight at the park.

A giant green screen, known as a ‘key’ wall, was set up in the park. All day fans of the series and curious residents came out to the edges of the set to get a peek.

Some folks spent their lunch break searching the scene for their favorite stars.

“We want to see Edward but we’ll take Jacob, yeah Carlisle too,” said Rhonda King, armed with binoculars. “Just in case we can’t get close we need to be able to check it out.”

However, the scene is blocked off and security is on hand, so if you’re looking to get a glimpse of the stars, you may be out of luck.

News 2 was told the lead actors of the film will not be at the set.

A couple of weeks ago, a fan on holiday in Baton Rouge caught up with the new cast members of Breaking Dawn at breakfast!(!! breakfast..hehe)

Thanks to BreakingDawnMovie.org for the pic & story!

This is my wife who met the following stars from the Twilight movie Breaking Dawn which is in production in Baton Rouge studios. They are we believe as follows from:

Noel Fisher – plays Vladimir (the blond in the front going left round the table)
Lisa Howard – plays Siobhan
Patrick Brrennan – plays Liam
Sandra – my wife
Omar Metwally – plays Amun
Christian Camargo – plays Eleazar
Myanna Buring – plays Tanya
Judith Shekoni – plays Zafrina Tracy Heggins – plays Senna
Guri Weinberg – plays Stefan

We met them at breakfast and they were all fantastically friendly and accomodating, Guri Weinberg was extremely helpful and chatty. I’ve got to say that Judith Shekoni is gorgeous!! They all also signed Sandra’s copy of the book Breaking Dawn which she just happened to have with her (She’s not a stalker really!!)

And Peter Facinelli at last weekend’s Golden Globes talking to MTV’s Hollywood MovieCrush gives us more details about filming Breaking Dawn.

Production on the two parts of “Breaking Dawn” is expected to stretch well into April, with the cast eventually departing Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to finish up shooting on the final “Twilight Saga” films in Vancouver, Canada. But whereas the makers of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” chose to save that franchise’s final scene until the very end of production, the “Breaking Dawn” cast has already shot the last scene of their finale film — and it apparently was a pretty gloomy experience.

“The other day when we shot that ending sequence, we knew that was the ending of the last two movies and it got a little melancholy,” Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, told us on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday. “It was sad.”

While the 37-year-old actor wouldn’t delve into detail about the scene — “Lots of vampires,” he teased — Robert Pattinson, also walking the Globes carpet, dished about the lengthy climax toward the end of “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.” “There’s like a 27-minute sequence in the final sequence, and it takes forever to shoot,” he revealed. “There’s about 75 people in it. Being on a piece of fake snow surrounded by green screen for like a month, it’s driving me absolutely insane.”

Facinelli, too, admitted that filming the final fight has meant the cast must suffer through a “brutal” production schedule, but he credited director Bill Condon with creating a calm, creative working environment.

“Bill Condon’s fantastic,” he said. “He’s such a great actors’ director. He’s really collaborative. He’s a joy to work with. He’s very relaxed all the time. You never see him sweat.”

MTV Movie News asked Angela Sarafyan about being the new cast member in The Twilight Saga.

“I went on-set and met Bill Condon and he is truly such a great, great person,” she said. “I’m honestly humbled by the fact that he is kind and generous and, with the enormity of this film, has been so graceful about giving every actor their time. He immediately put me on a great starting point. We were all in this incredible Egyptian casbah in Baton Rouge [back in November] and it was quite magnificent. It was quite easy. It’s not as pressure-filled as you’d think. It felt like an independent project where everyone’s having a nice time, no one’s pressured. It’s been that way almost every day that we’ve worked on this.”

Three movies into the franchise already, the crew is currently in the midst of filming the final two films, “Breaking Dawn” parts one and two, and the “Twilight” newbie says that things are so relaxed on the set that she doesn’t feel like a rookie castmate.

“I was telling my mom, and I say these kids, they’re [probably] people who are not very nice and they’re stuck up … and they’re the complete opposite. They’re very kind and sweet and normal and awesome,” she explained. “I don’t think I could find anything bad to say about a single person on the set. They’re quite humble and normal people. It was a delight to come into that.

“About being the new kid on the set, there’s so many of us, we’ve all become a family ultimately,” she added. “It’s been quite easy.”

Sarafyan even got to help create a bit of backstory in order to play Tia. “I always envisioned Tia like Cleopatra and Benjamin like Marc Anthony, so even though they’re the younger vampires, they’re very strong-willed and rebels. We have this entire history of how they were 4 and they met and they fell in love and at 16 they turned into vampires,” she explained. “It’s something along those lines. And it’s funny, I spoke to Stephenie Meyer and she has a similar idea of what we created.”

Breaking Dawn News – Oh my… Edward & Bella on their wedding bed.

First Bill Condon gave us this…

And today we get this… courtesy of Entertainment Weekly (Issue Out Friday 14th Jan,2011 – Captain Jack Sparrow on the Cover) that got the exclusive first image of Bella & Edward on their honeymoon… *HOT*

From The Twilight Saga Facebook page.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 1. The shot, which is only available in Entertainment Weekly’s print edition, features Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) as husband and wife…on their wedding night. “It’s one of the most anticipated scenes,” Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon tells EW. “I spent a tremendous amount of time thinking about it. The anticipation is part of it and you want to play with what people expect and maybe subvert it a little and surprise them.”

For more information about Breaking Dawn (in theaters Nov. 18), check out this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly.

So what do you guys think?!

We love the first pic ( Feathers) cos of its simplicity and sensuality .

And now with Edward and Bella in the picture – wow! IT is HAPPENING !!! ;)

We also love the lighting in both images that somehow connotes an almost ethereal mood about it. This is Bella and Edward ie human & vampire coming together – after sooo long.

WE ARE LIKING WHAT YOU’RE DOING MR. CONDON!!!

Breaking Dawn News – Carter Burwell is coming back for BD !!!

YES!! He is coming back! Carter Burwell will be at the helm of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn!!

From The Playlist:

Coen Brothers and Spike Jonze regular collaborator Carter Burwell is set to return to the ‘Twilight’ since working on the first film to perform scoring duties for the final installment of the series, the two parter “Twilight: Breaking Dawn.” Burwell has an existing relationship with the director of the final two parts, Bill Condon, having collaborated on “Kinsey” and “Gods And Monsters” and will return to the position after Alexandre Desplat followed him for “New Moon” with Howard Shore stepping in for “Eclipse.” Shooting began this past November with all major cast members such as Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Anna Kendrick and Ashley Greene reprising their roles. The two parts will be shot as one project and will then be respectively released on November 18th, 2011 and November 16th, 2012.

The score that he created for Twilight is forever etched in our minds and hearts especially after watching it more than 20 times on the big screen! You’ll know it anywhere and can place it exactly in the Twilight :P

or rather you are brought to that particular scene and you can feel the emotions at play through the music. Try it – its fun!

The music illustrated and enhanced the emotional content in the movie and Mr. Burwell did a fantastic job! We could not imagine Twilight without its amazing music score & soundtrack. CAN’T WAIT!!!

Breaking Dawn News – Wyck Godfrey interviewed by USA Today – giving juicy details about BD!

Thanks to Twilight Lexicon for the heads up!

What does the future hold for Bella and Edward in ‘Breaking Dawn’?

Torrid honeymoon sex in tropical Brazil.

The most horrifying pregnancy since Rosemary delivered her devil child.

The threat of a vampire massacre on a nuclear scale.

No wonder the film version of Breaking Dawn is coming out in two parts — the first arrives Nov. 18. (The second is due Nov. 16, 2012.)

Even the most rabid Twi-hards have been nervous about how the sometimes graphic 754-page tome would translate on screen as the mixed-marriage spawn of courtly bloodsucker Edward Cullen and beloved human Bella (played by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) leads to friction with the Volturi, who act as vampire royalty, and the werewolf-prone Quileute tribe.

But never fear, says producer Wyck Godfrey.

Speaking from the Baton Rouge set where both installments of Breaking Dawn are shooting simultaneously, Wyck answered some of the Twi-faithful’s more pressing questions.

Q: Where does the story split in half?

A: “We basically want to take the audience through the emotional part of Bella’s journey as she becomes a vampire. The first part will cover the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth.” The film ends just before she embarks on her supernatural transformation.

Q: The book has three segments, two of which present Bella’s point of view and a middle that’s devoted to the perspective of her rejected werewolf suitor, Jacob (Taylor Lautner). How is that handled?

A: “The story will break from her and follow Jacob throughout the course of the movie as he struggles with his own dilemma. There is a sense that as Bella and the Cullens (Edward’s makeshift vampire clan) deal with her pregnancy, the world is still turning outside with Jacob.”

Q: Why was Bill Condon, the Oscar-winning filmmaker best known for his musicals as the screenwriter of 2002′s Chicagoand the director of 2006′s Dreamgirls, selected as the director of the finale?

A: “These films have the most difficult stuff from a performance standpoint. With his history of directing, I can’t think of anyone who would be better at bringing out the best in an actor.” Plus, the director, who did the 1995 sequel to Candyman, is a fright-fare enthusiast. “He has an appetite for the genre and a passion for the Twilight books and movies.”

Q: Considering what goes on during the torturous birth process, how can the rating be PG-13?

A: With Twilight‘s core of under-18 fans, “it would be a crime against our audience to go R-rated.” However, “this is based on a much more mature book. We need to progress and be more sophisticated.”

A compromise: Having the bloody, bone-crushing delivery be seen only through Bella’s eyes. “She is looking through the haze, experiencing pain and everything rushing around her. We only see what she sees.”

Q: How is the long-awaited consummation of Edward and Bella’s love portrayed?

A: Even though their physical relationship goes way beyond what was shown in the first three films, “it does not become soft porn. It is a legitimate and important part of the movie, romantic and sensual.”

Q: At the end of Breaking Dawn, about 70 or so vampires from around the world gather to face off with the Cullens and their allies plus Jacob’s wolf pack. How can you keep both portions of the storytelling equally compelling?

A: “The second half is more of an action film in terms of life-and-death stakes.” But the domestic moments of the first film possess an emotional punch. “There are the pangs of newlywed tension that occur that are relatable even in a fantasy film. Marriage is not quite the experience that they thought it was.”

Q: Is there any chance that Condon could sneak in a musical number?

A: There might be traditional dancing at the wedding. But don’t expect any of the wolf pack to suddenly howl a tune or do a soft-shoe shuffle.

Although, as Godfrey jokes, “We just had a whole line of actors marching toward the camera. We could have them practice a chorus line with vampires doing kicks.”
