Cast News: The Runaways

Collider has been given The Runaways: Featurette and also 7 clips from the movie!
MTV has a new interview with Kristen and Dakota whether they would want to live as rock stars rather than a movie star. Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning Leave ‘Runaways’ Rocking On the Screen
As Kristen’s fans are well aware, the girl knows her music. Remember that Minor Threat T-shirt she wore to Comic-Con ’09? Or when she was spotted with the rest of the “Twilight” cast at the Kings of Leon show? Keeping all that in mind, we had to ask the big question: If she could trade places with any rock star for a single day, who would it be?
“Joan!” Stewart shot back, without hesitation. “It depends on what period of life, I suppose. But on Joan and Cherie’s best day? Oh my God, I would definitely go with that!”
MTV has The Runaways: Cherry Bomb Music Video!
IESB.net and HitFix managed to snag interviews from these 2 starlets!
Q: What was it like for you guys to get into playing Joan Jett and Cherie Currie? Kristen, you and Joan seem to have a similar energy, but Dakota, you seem so different from Cherie Currie. How was it to portray these women?
Dakota: I think it’s a huge departure from other roles that I’ve played, and me, in real life. It’s obviously very different from things that I’ve done before, and it will be different for people to see, but I like that. I like surprising people with different things that I can do. That’s what I love to do. And, I hope to do more roles like this, in the future.
Kristen: Me and Joan really do understand each other, and that’s a rare thing. Connection is not something that’s common, or easy to describe. But, I really actually think that we both have a lot of idiosyncracies and ticks that are really different. I don’t have her little things that she does. And, I also think that, especially based on when I did this movie and how much time I had to think about doing the movie before I went to go make it, I’ve done a lot of press within that time and I was sort of wearing her. People projected that onto me, a little bit. I really do feel like it was an easy thing to step into, and it wasn’t a huge departure, but I do feel a little bit like I was just in that head space and projected that a little bit.
Q: Is it wonderful to have two people still alive who you can refer to for your characters or is it easier to play original characters?
Fanning: I think it’s amazing when you have the actual people there. It’s like the ultimate. I think with all characters if they were a real person you could talk to it would be amazing. When you are actually living someone’s life over for them again, it has to be so surreal and you want them to be involved as they want to be and, luckily, they wanted to be involved as we wanted them to be.
Stewart: Yeah, yeah.

New Moon News

MTV Movies blog has an interview with ‘New Moon’ director, Chris Weitz where he reveled 5 secrets regarding the film.
Why So Torn Up, Edward?: At one point in the film, Pattinson’s Edward Cullen appears in a ripped T-shirt, but we never learn why. So … what the heck happened?
“What it’s supposed to be is that he’s essentially been wearing the same clothes for several months, and that eventually they’ve just worn out because, as you I’m sure know, his body is like stone. So he must’ve rubbed up against something and it ripped,” Weitz said.
Here’s Rob at the premiere of ‘Remember Me’ being interviewed by Access Hollywood.
If there was anyone would choose whether a girl should date someone like Edward Cullen or Tyler Hawkins, who else to ask other than the man who played both chracters, Rob!

*********PARAMORE IN SINGAPORE – The Review**********
I dunno what’s in the water in Tennessee but my two favourite bands are from there and THEY ARE EXPLOSIVE, ORIGINAL & IMMENSELY GREAT!!
Been to Nashville especially to watch & support Kings of Leon at their homeground – guess there’s another reason to go back again there - Paramore . And I must remember to drink the water there too.
Bonnaroo 2010 is coming !
PARAMORE DELIVERED IN SINGAPORE - It was WORTH THE WAIT!
We reached the Indoor Stadium at about 330pm and it was sweltering! 1000 people were ahead of us by then. Luckily we got a sweet spot that was airy and open and most importantly under the shade to wait out the 4 hours. The people ahead of us had to wait in a sort of tunnel which we think must’ve been very hot and stuffy. Anyways – the concert!
It was well organized but it would have been great if the organizers would ask the fans to sit down on the ‘standing pen’ floor while waiting for the rest of the audience to come in. We could have enjoyed the aircon better sitting on the floor.
There were mild moshing happening where we were (smack in the middle) and some people who were unprepared plus the heat – panicked and started to trickle out of the pit. We moved after Monochrome cos it was just soo stuffy. For the rest of the night we were on the right side of the stage.

Monochrome tried their best to work the crowd but the fans were generally unimpressed. They were impatient and just wanted Paramore to come on. We think Monochrome was decent and they did good.
At about 850PM – the lights went low and a distinct guitar solo was heard and it was The Intro – the crowd got crazy!! Soon followed by Ignorance to which the crowd sang happily and loudly with Hayley!

The whole night was an awesome experience of singing with the band to our favourite songs such as Ignorance, CrushCrushCrush, That’s What You Get, Decode, Misery Business & Brick by Boring Brick and the love song – The Only Exception. I am a new fan and it was great to be jumping with the crowd to the beat and singing with Hayley. She gave the fans the chance to sing part of the songs and said we had a good voice. They sang a few of their old stuff especially for the old fans – which was sweet. I love the lyrics of the songs! Unfortunately, I Caught Myself was not played so here’s hoping they’ll do next time. The band were as good as they were full blast on CDs – didn’t miss a beat. THANK YOU!!! When they came back for the Encore they said Singapore was THE NOISIEST crowd they’ve had in the tour – dunno if its true – but my ears are still ringing and by the faces of the fans after the show – red, all sweaty but elated and were heard saying wherever I turned – that was a d***ed awesome show. Paramore promised not to be away to long and we hope they’ll come back soon!

We weren't lucky enough to get the guitar picks or drum sticks that Jeremy was throwing out but we managed to get Paramore's 1st Singapore concert set list from one of the roadies. It was on Taylor's side so we think it was his.
Maria had tickets to the standing pen, while I, at the very last minute bought tickets, just 2 days before the concert and was in luck! SISTIC were still selling and I took the chance to bought them though my seat was way at the back, on the terraces. We went to the Indoor Stadium around 7pm and the line to the North Entrance was long.

Even if it was long, the line was moving fast. We got in around 7.15pm and took our seats. We waited for around 45 minutes when the lights went dim and MONOCHROME, a local band, opened for PARAMORE. Their songs were alright though the crowd wasn’t pleased that they had to wait for half an hour for PARAMORE to come on board.

Well… the much anticipated waiting ended when PARAMORE came in and the whole crowd went WILD! They opened the night with Ignorance and well the rest is history! It was amazing when the crowd sang along to the songs! And yes, PARAMORE shouldn’t have to wait for another 5 years to come cos we’re just AWESOME! XD
P.S. Decode LIVE is well… words can’t describe it! LOVE IT! =)
Twilight casts at the 82nd Oscars

This year, few of the Twilight casts were at the OSCARS. As we all know, Anna Kendrik was nominated for Best Actress In A Supporting Role. Though she did not win, but we would like to congratulate her for her first Academy Award nomination!
The other casts that were present were Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Michael Sheen.
Here, we have a video footage of Kristen and Taylor presenting a montage on Horror movies.
Michael Sheen too made a speech to Helen Miren for her nomination as Best Actress In A Leading Role which went to Sandra Bullock! She deserves it for her movie The Blind Side!
Last but not least, we would like to congratulate Summit Entertainment as The Hurt Locker won 6 awards – Best Writing (Original Screenplay), Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best Directing and of course Best Picture! Congrats to Kathryn Bigelow for being the first female director to win Best Director and Best Picture!

Eclipse News

Sorry moved this from the previous post cos realized that its actually Eclipse News – my bad.
Chris Weitz has been talking about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse saying in People Magazine that, “Eclipse will be ‘Steamy’”

Chris Weitz, who directed New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, says he has read the script for this summer’s third installment, Eclipse – and that one scene in particular is a scorcher.
“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”
In Eclipse‘s fan-favorite “tent scene,” – spoiler alert! – a freezing Bella, who is on the run from evil vamp Victoria, gets a warm-up from werewolf Jacob when he squeezes into her sleeping bag – while a jealous Edward looks on.
Aww the tent scene! Bring in on David Slade!
And what does Papa Cullen – Peter Facinelli is saying about Eclipse?

As Marc Malkin revealed in his latest video blog, Peter kept his lips zipped when it came to any news of splitting Breaking Dawn into two movies, shrugging it off by saying no scripts had been written yet.
“It’s a very thick book. I think that two movies would be a good thing for the franchise. I support it, but ultimately it’s up to what Summit decides,” Peter chatted, though he seemed to pick his words very carefully.
“I’m having a great time with the franchise, so if we get to do two more that would be fun.”
Peter was proud to boast of his stunt work too, claiming, “I tried to do as much as I could, or as much as they allowed me to do. If I didn’t go home with a bruise, I didn’t feel like I put in a good day’s work.”
While B.D. may still be far off, Eclipse is coming up soon, and Peter seems to think it’s quite a bit more exciting than that New Moon bore.
“The battle in Eclipse was superfun. We got to do a lot of fight training and choreography, and I’m looking forward to the fans seeing that. They get to see the Cullens in a way they’ve never seen them before,” the star mysterious teased.
New Moon News [UPDATED]

With The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD coming out on our shores on March 20th. We’re looking forward to the film commentary by Director Chris Weitz! Here’s a preview first published on Buzzsugar and reblogged on Twilighters Anonymous! Thanks guys!
Twilight fans still have a few months to go before Eclipse hits theaters this Summer, but they’ll flock to the stores in a few weeks to pick up copies of New Moon on DVD on March 21. There are a few editions featuring all kinds of bonus features, and I was lucky enough to chat with director Chris Weitz on everything from his favorite scene, to Rob and Kristen’s relationship, to what he wishes had ended up on the cutting room floor.
There are lots of different editions of the New Moon DVD. Which bonus features are you particularly excited about?
Chris Weitz: I’m excited that my voice will finally be heard! For me, the fun thing was doing the commentary with Peter Lambert, my editor, because it kind of re-created the atmosphere in the cutting room. Peter’s a really funny guy, and we were able to delve into not only the behind-the-scenes moments, but to explain why certain things were shot or cut together in certain ways. So that, for me, was the most fun.
When you go back and watch it again, are there things you’d like to change if you could?
CW: I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen’s just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn’t get that response. But otherwise, I’m very happy with things.
What was your favorite scene to shoot in New Moon?
CW: I’m very fond of the memories that a lot of the scenes invoke in me. My favorite scene is probably somewhere between the very last scene, and the cliffhanger that it’s left on, and the scenes in Italy. Just the experience shooting those scenes was so magnificent. We were in this beautiful hillside town in Tuscany, and going home to fresh-made pasta every night, and surrounded by thousands of fans of the series while we were shooting it. I know I’ll never experience anything like that ever again.

[UPDATED]
IESB.net Christina Radish’s Exclusive with Chris Weitz reveals more about his experience in doing New Moon and working with the cast. And of course he has also talked about the New Moon DVD.
IESB: Having had to deal with stunts, green screen, CGI, weather, bugs and everything you had going on, what was the biggest challenge in bringing this film to the screen, so as to please as many of the fans as possible?
Chris: I think the greatest challenge was the logistical load of it. When you’re talking about taking a film from beginning to end in one year, it’s difficult to do that with a normal film where people are just sitting on their butts, talking to one another. But, when you add in underwater work, heavy CGI work and wire work, it becomes extraordinarily complicated. And then, you add in getting the London Symphony Orchestra to record a soundtrack, and getting 10 or so indie bands to compose songs especially for the film, there are a lot of timelines that are ticking along, at the same time, and you hope that you are able to combine it all at the right point. And, you always end up, just at the last minute, on the last day, your final CGI shot comes in. There are about 400 and something CGI shots, which actually isn’t that many compared to what I’ve done before, but it’s quite a lot. It can complicate things when you’re in the editing room.
IESB: Did you have any preconceived notions, coming into this film, about what it would be like to work with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, prior to filming with them? And, was there anything you learned about working with them that really surprised you?
Chris: I think what surprised me most was how level-headed they were, given the kind of pressures that they were under from the attention of the fans and the number of things that could have taken their head out of the game, and how much they really cared about getting their characters right. In the second film, in a franchise in which you know that people are going to go see it anyway, it’s very impressive to see young actors who really care about getting things just right. It’s the first time I’ve actually been twice the age of the actors, except on About a Boy, but that was really working with a child actor. These guys are actually rather grown up. I was surprised at how old I actually felt, in comparison to them. At the same time, I was really impressed by their professionalism.
IESB: Is there a specific reason why you didn’t include any commentary from Kristen, Rob and Taylor on the DVD? Were they just not available?
Chris: I just didn’t want them to say anything bad about me. No. It was actually happenstance. These things are scheduled during the whole press bonanza that you’re doing and, on that particular day, everyone was in motion between one screening and the next, and I happened to be the only piece of the puzzle, as well as Peter Lambert, who was in London, that was available. Now, I’m sure there will be something on the Internet about some kind of scandal where we don’t like each other, or something. That will be interesting. I’ll have to check Twitter for that. But, it was really a much more boring reason than that.
IESB: Looking back on the process of making New Moon, from pre-production to the finalization of the DVD, what will you remember most about the experience? Was there anything that you learned about directing or filmmaking that you’ll carry with you to future projects?
Chris: What I learned was the power of a devoted audience, in supporting the filmmaker’s efforts. I felt incredibly supported by the fans throughout the process. And then, to see their enjoyment and anticipation was such a visceral experience that you don’t usually get to have on a memory. What I learned, as a director, was that very early on I promised myself and the actors that I would never rush them along or expect them to do something, just because it was a movie and we had a schedule to meet, and that we could always talk things through, no matter what. When I worked with my brother, I was probably the guy who was less likely to talk with the actors, and this was a full commitment to always engaging with them, and that’s something I’ll always take with me.
Awww I really like this interview. Thank you Chris Weitz. Hope you’ll find it interesting too. Click here to read more!
Over at HitFix.com Chris Weitz talks more about ‘the scene’ which he would rather be on the cutting room floor, on whether he will come back for ‘Breaking Dawn’ and about his new film, The Gardener.
“I think it could have been less than an Arcadian fairy tale running through the foresty movement and more of an abstract at Kristen flash on her face,” Weitz says of what he would have changed. “That would have avoided laughter, which wasn’t only heard at the premiere where there are cynics and jaded Hollywood types, but the most packed fan screenings.”
Weitz, who is currently prepping his independent drama “The Gardner ” for Summit Entertainment (the same company that shepherds “Twilight”) was taking time out of his busy schedule to talk about the release of the highly anticipated two-disc DVD on March 23. It’s clear one of the reasons he’s doing more publicity for the film is because he feels “tremendously grateful” for the support of the “Twilight” fanbase which helped “New Moon” hit $706 million worldwide and revitalize his career. He notes, “I feel like it was two-way street. The reason the fans have been kind to me is i really approached it from step one as ‘What would I want as a reader of the book?’ I didn’t concern myself with making a four quadrant movie or any overall effect other than to be true to the nature of the book. To be able to entertain people and give people joy in that way is something a director looks for his whole life.”
One of the other interesting aspects of Weitz’s audio commentary is that the filmmaker refers to a number of deleted scenes from the film. Like many commentaries, Weitz’s was recorded soon after “Noon Moon” was released. At the time he was unaware the DVD would contain none of the deleted scenes he mentions although he suspects they might be included on new DVD packages down the road.
“I think those were kind of made at the corporate level,” Weitz says. “I am very satisfied with the cut we did. Goofy running in the forest notwithstanding.”

Thanks to PattinsonLife here is an account of a fan who attended a few of Rob’s appearances in New York earlier this week. And she was very well rewarded for her dedication and being polite and respectful! Thanks to for sharing with us Alicia!
@The Today Show
After getting the wrist bands, I ran back to The Today Show in time for the start of the show where Ivy joined us shortly after.
From where we stood, we could see Rob walk into the lobby from the secret underground parking lot. He spoke to the Today Show staff for a few minutes before walking out to acknowledge the crowd, sign autographs and take pictures prior to taping his segment. As you can guess, the crowd was in an uproar with excitement.
He went back in and a few minutes later taped his segment with Matt Lauer. After his part on the show was completed, he graciously went back out to the crowd. He came towards us and started signing autographs just to the left of us. Rob even cracked jokes while signing. Someone in attendance had a giant Remember Me poster and Rob laughingly asked, “Did you steal this?”
He stayed signing autographs and taking pictures for less than five minutes before being rushed back into the lobby.
@The Remember Me Premiere
At the completion of the movie, all of the fans gave a standing ovation. Rob & Kristen left the theater prior to the credits starting but most of the cast lingered briefly. Many of us fans were able to interact with the cast and special guests in attendance like Tom Sturridge, one of Rob’s best mates.
I was able to meet Victoria Pattinson, Rob’s sister, downstairs. I mistook her for Elizabeth and told her how much I enjoyed her singing. She graciously accepted the compliment but informed me that I had mistaken her for Elizabeth, as many have. I managed to turn the embarrassment into a joke and had her laughing. Later upstairs, while Victoria spoke with her Mum and (I’m guessing) her aunt, I polity asked to have my picture taken with her. She graciously agreed. Victoria is so tall and even if she hadn’t been wearing platform heels, she would still have towered over me. I must say that Victoria Pattinson is an extremely lovely person.
I was too shy to speak with Mum Pattinson. Even though I wanted to give her a hug for raising such lovely well mannered children who remain grounded despite having been thrust into fame.

“But this one, the way the dialogue was written, it just seemed much more naturalistic than most things.
“It’s not really a feel-good movie. They don’t make movies like it anymore, I think that’s how I kind of choose stuff, that’s the only criteria I have. There seems to be a gap in the market for something and I just try and do that.”
And here’s Rob being interviewed on GMTV for Summit’s ‘Remember Me’.
And here something for just for laughs. Jimmy Fallon as Robert on Valentines’ Day on his ‘Robert is Bothered’ segment. Hope you guys enjoy it. I know I did.
