Answer to Week 7’s question:
The Volturi is equivalent to the royalty in the vampire world and they enforce the law. They have existed for about three thousand years, from 1300BC and reside in Volterra, Italy. The Volturi’s aim is to keep the vampire world hidden from the human world. If any vampire exposed themselves to humans, regardless if it was intentional or not, they will send others of their kind to eliminate them and their covens. The Volturi consists of their leaders, Aro — who can read a person’s thought just by touching them, Marcus — who can sense the strength of relationships between humans and vampires, Caius — who has no known powers. Aro, Marcus and Caius have wives — Sulphica, Athenodora and Didyme respectively. Didyme has the ability to make others happy. There are 32 Volturi guards — whom the most outstanding of them are Jane, Alec, Demetri and Chelsea. Jane is able to inflict illusions of pain towards her target, Alec is able to block other’s senses. Jane and Alec is a fabulous pair — doted by Aro, the leader. They often destroy vampires together. Demetri is a tracker — he can track anyone once he has the tenor of their minds. Chelsea can change emotional bondings — making it efficient when The Volturi is dealing with a large coven. Renenta has the ability to distract others, making people wander if they are near here, therefore acting as a “shield”.
