Not much news today. Here’s what I have so far:

Twilight Singapore and NLB collaboration
Yesterday, we had an outing together with National Library Board and it was fun, even though only a few Twilighters came, the programme that was organised by NLB was fruitful and enjoyable.
The programme yesterday, was not really Twilight related, though we did include a short book discussion at the end. But we learned how to make applique (revamping your own plain shirt or bag) so that it looks new and you won’t have to throw it away. And we definitely learned how to make your own jewellery! Two of our Twilighters managed to make their own Cullen boys cuff using car tyre!
It was definitely a useful and enjoyable experience as we learned how to recylced materials that we throw away to make something out of it or to make something bland to something pretty and new. So we hope that if there’s another event with NLB, you can join us! =)

Emmett’s a big goof-ball and Alice is just so sweet and cute. What she can do is awesome. It would be really cool to have her as a best friend. And yeah, our characters just both totally love life and I would totally hang out with them.
K: I think you’re my best friend! I love my character. I got so lucky with Emmett. It’s great to act as a character who loves life as much as I do, and life is just so short, why not have fun every second that you can? That’s what I try to bring to the role of Emmet, he’s just a big teddy bear that I love to play. I’d love to have a best friend like him.

I’ve already taken some pictures of all the various posters, from the best (“Terminator Salvation” has a really badass standee) to the worst (Nia Vardalos in a quasi-sequel to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” a half-decade too late?) to the uneventful (the “New Moon” poster is so plain that I found it over in a corner of the hallway, leaning against the wall virtually unnoticed).

You can easily spot us there as we will bring our ‘Twilight Singapore’ banner along. The outing consists of an inspirational talk by Doinky Doodles. You will then proceed with the workshop of your choice which you have already opted!
For those who opted for Option 1 (Fashion Sensibility), please bring along an old T-shirt or bag. As mentioned earlier, we will also have a short discussion about The Twilight Saga: New Moon – (Release date for Singapore: 3rd December!) after the workshops. “How was your life before getting the role of Edward Cullen?
Last year I had a great apartment in Soho where you could go to the roof and watch the great view. I played music and I tried to record it. But then I went to Spain for the movie “Little Ashes” and everything changed. It was the first time that I was researching about something. I haven’t seen the movie yet but either if it’s bad or good, it surely changed the way I feel about acting and made me more obedient about what I can achieve of acting when I see the scripts.
How did you pay for a big apartment in Soho?
It wasn’t big. Actually, it was the smallest you’ve ever seen and it was empty. It only had two garden chairs and nothing else. No carpet, no heating, no bathroom. I had to go to my parents’ house to take a bath. But it was perfect. I thought my lifestyle was bohemian. I was sad when I left it.
Why did you leave it?
Because there are some renovations in London and the rent raised 5.000 pounds. I was in U.S.A. for a whole year because of the filming of Twilight. I was practically paying for an apartment that my friends were living in. So I left it.
Where do you live now?
Nowhere.
Are you excited that you’re going to be a “vampire” for the next ten years?
Yes but that’s not going to last so much because vampires aren’t getting old. So I can’t do it for more than the next two years. It will be ridiculous.”

Twilight Singapore is always on a lookout for our very own Twilighters to get crafty, compose their own Twilight-inspired music and much more!
Having said that, Melissa, one of our Twilighters, is encouraging more local Twilighters to write their own fanfictions – Twilight fanfictions to be exact. Who knows – you might get your fanfictions featured here on our website! However, one can still write fanfictions based on other fandoms, etc.
Twilight Big Bang, a community at Livejournal is currently hosting a fanfiction challenge:
What is a Big Bang, you might ask?
Big Bangs are long-fic challenges. The idea is to write at least 20,000 words of one fic. It’s written over several months. We’ll be writing during May, June, and July, and then your fics will be posted sometime in September.
(Fics that have been already posted – in whole or as a WIP – would not be eligible for the challenge. Fics that you have already finished writing, or have written major chunks for, are also not eligible.)
You definitely can write about anything Twilight – as long as at least one of your main characters appears somewhere in the Twilight canon, you’re golden.
You could, for example, write about Bella and Edward after Breaking Dawn. You could write an AU. You could write a Cullen’s backstory. You could write about the apocalypse. You could write about the pack. You could write about the Volturi. You could write a threesome Emmett/Rosalie/Jasper story. You could write about Victoria, James, and Laurent before they met their fate with the Cullens. You could write about BELLA IN SPACE. Literally, anything is up for grabs. Any kink, pairing, or rating.
A Big Bang is not a fic exchange – you’re not writing for anyone else, just yourself. And the fun of it!

Lainey has exclusive New Moon set pictures…or rather pictures from La Push scenes.
These are exclusive on set photos of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as Bella and Jacob shooting scenes in what’s supposed to be La Push yesterday for New Moon.
As you can see, they’re both wearing wigs. Movie making magic! And I always thought her hair was that thick and lustrous! There’d been a lot of questions about whether or not Taylor could grow into the role. From the back, Taylor does look kinda man now. Kristen’s make up is great. Am all over the stain they use on her lips. Gorgeous.
