We know what you mean, its just there are many things involved in bringing in a movie especially into Singapore or Asia for that matter. Among others is the rampant risks of piracy in this region – big movie studios are careful when sending movie prints here. Once a movie comes out in the cinemas you can be sure a pirated DVD or VCD will come out the next day and it will dampen the movie’s box office taking which in turn will affect the rice bowls of the many many people involved in marketing and the making of this movie. On top of that the film censors board will take time to rate the film. Just be patient and and lookout for the sneak previews if you can’t wait till December 3rd

“Among others is the rampant risks of piracy in this region – big movie studios are careful when sending movie prints here.”
it is very naive to think that in a country like singapore, you will have people walking into cinemas with a camera, record the movie, burn it on to disc and expect singaporeans to buy it.
with a country at 66% internet penetration, do you really thing the pirated media businesses that were once rampant in night markets and neighbourhood shopping areas close down because the police were busting them?
if i am the distributors i will make sure i have the movie released on the same day as the rest of the world before somebody from some so-assumed-with-lesser-piracy-non-asian countries walks into a movie theater with a camera phone, records it and puts it on the world wide web for everyone to see. like it or not it will definitely affect the sales in some ways.
may i remind you that internet penetration in america is only at 46.6%. and we are talking about penetration, without differentiating between low-speed dial-up connection and high speed internet connection suitable for streaming media online.

Mentioned were preventative measures relayed to us. There might be other reasons.
Lets us just wait for the film to come out and enjoy it here.
Or you can register for New Moon Festa and have the chance to win tickets for the Gala Premiere! More Information at this link:
