How To Be (Citibank's Choice)

How To Be (By Oliver Irving/UK/2008/NC16/84 Min)

Producer: Justin Kelly

Screenplay: Oliver Irving

Cast: Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Pidgeon, Jeremy Hardy

Film’s Synopsis:

British comedy about a frustrated musician who turns to a self-help coach to thaw the frozen grief of his dysfunctional past.

Art is young, middle class and quite depressed. He is going through a quarter life crisis just when his girlfriend dumps him and he has to move back to live with his uncommunicative parents – who are far from thrilled with the idea. His equally damaged friends, volunteer work and music are no help to his growing anxiety so he turns to psychology guru Dr. Levi Ellington whose mode of treatment is to move in with the patient and shadow his every move. Poignant and occasionally dark, the film explores the increasingly common phenomena of grown-up children living at home, middle class depression and self-help. Robert Pattinson, who plays Art, is perhaps best known for his role as the benevolent and hunky vampire in Twilight. Won a Special Jury Honorable Mention at Slamdance.

Oh yes!!! Us Twilighters and TRUE Rob fans should absolutely make our presence felt (and heard!).
    Let’s sellout the tickets!!!
But we better watch the movie in respectful silence and not scream… ;)

This would show that we appreciate RPattz for his true talents and acting chops and that he’s not juz a pretty face (altho’ I muz say…even with that strange hair in HTB, his face is still perfect and he somehow still looks damn good!). :)

So how are we gonna coordinate this, Admins?

  22. jan

Juz read the update about Twilight Singapore’s terrific proactiveness in writing to Justin Kelly about the SIFF…you gals are AWESOME!!!
And Justin Kelly….THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!

Hey! Write to Mr Kelly again and see if its possible to get Rob here for SIFF/HTB! That will show everyone (or rather, the non-Rob fans) that there’s more to him than just Edward Cullen. :)

    Eternal optimist that’s me….I’m hoping!!!

  23. Nad

I was wondering..If Little Ashes will be shown here in SG.
I have the feeling this is by far his best acting yet.

    February 26, 2009 at 9:38 am

  24. Profit2829

I don’t think there’ll not be much prob for Little Ashes to be screened here. Just that the ratings may prevent some of the fans from watching it! Sorry Bessy!

    February 26, 2009 at 9:55 am

  25. Nad

Oh… perhaps… coz i juz checked imdb.com. Just like Brokeback Mountain, Little Ashes is rated as USA:R.
But I juz hope that they will still play it here man…
Perhaps they will consider that there are Dali fans around too coz his artworks are quite heavily promoted here.

    February 26, 2009 at 5:05 pm

  26. Suzanne

thanks for the news! :D I’m really glad that this movie is gonna be screened! I really do wish that Little Ashes will be screened, cos from the teasers, it looks like an awesome show. What a shame if it is a limited release.

    February 26, 2009 at 9:10 pm

  27. I too hope that Little Ashes will be screened here. My only fear is that I won’t be old enough to watch it. :( LOL.

Hi! can anyone suggest an affordable and conveniently located hotel near the venue for the SIFF? Hope to hear from you soon! From Malaysia with love….;-)

    March 24, 2009 at 1:15 pm

  33. profit2829

MissBliss you coming in Just for the screening?! Wow such dedication!! Mr. Kelly would love to hear about this. The cinema is at Orchard Road. The closest I think is YMCA @ Dhoby Ghaut. Not sure the rates though. Or maybe you can check Hotel 81? Dunno if there is any at Orchard though. But transport systems are excellent here so getting a bus to Orchard would not be a problem.
