Twilight News

twilight-news-version2

Okay okay, we got news people! Nikki Finke from Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that Eclipse will be premiering on June 30th, 2010. *GASPS*Eclipse

I’ve confirmed there’s no director hired yet. And the two productions won’t be back-to-back. But that hasn’t stopped Summit Entertainment from newly scheduling its Twilight threequel for release on June 30, 2010, not long after its Twilight sequel New Moon set for November 20th this year now being helmed by Chris Weitz.

Film’s synopsis as follows:

“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”

Full details here.

Also, Entertainment Weekly is reporting this:

Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively).

You can also read an interview with Bobby Long, done by Twilight News UK here:

As some of you may know, Mr. Bobby Long is a friend of Twilight News. Bobby collaborated with Marcus Foster on the song ‘Let Me Sign’ which Robert Pattinson sings on the Twilight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)  (available on iTunes).

In the meantime, Taylor Lautner stops by InStyle’s office for an interview before he joins Robert for Japan’s Twilight Premiere this Friday!

Argh! I will only be travelling in December D: Will it lasts till then?
And it is great that Eclipse is scheduled next year June, so fast and I cant wait to watch it:D
However, that will mean the Twilight fever will not last long because I guess Breaking Dawn will be out in 2011 and we will have nothing to anticipate. Unless Stephenie gets Midnight Sun published.

June 30th? I’d rather wait till November next year, so that the movie’ll hopefully turn out better than it being released in June.
It seems like they’re rushing into things.

Why is it so fast? I’m super glad that it’s going to be only 6-7 months wait after New Moon, but I’ll have doubts on whether it’ll be good or not. Hopefully it is. And now there are lesser things to anticipate. :(

I juz hope they’re getting lots of Steph’s input on both movies, like what Catherine did in Twilight…which worked out SO WELL.

And Summit better not leave us hanging after Eclipse….BD MUST ABSOLUTELY be made, with Rob, Kristen and Co…!!!!

Too soon. Many twilighters can wait, including me.

Fans want quality not quantity. Mass-production is the worst thing ever. And if Weitz is really not directing Eclipse, how are they going to find someone else in such a short period of time?

I understand the reasoning behind “vampires aren’t supposed to look old or changed etc”, but seems like Summit just wants the money and fame.

Sigh, can’t blame them though. They are afterall a profit organisation whose goal is to make money. I just hope they know what they are doing.

I’m already beginning to lose faith in the movie franchise. Nothing thrills me anymore.
