TWILIGHT MOVIE STUBS RESULTS!!!

Alright you guys! Before we announce the results, we’d like to give a shoutout to those who took part in the Movie Stub Contest! Angelica Rubin Loe, Choo Ping Loo, Farah Hannah, Jolene Yap, Nadia Rafii, Nadia Raihanah, Natasha D’Cruz, Nurul Amirah, Nurulhuda, Nurul Saion, Regina, Shirley Soon and Siti Fatimah!!!!
We had a total of 13 entries with ticket stubs entered varying from 46 to 1. Which makes it a total of 149 times Twilight was seen by these awesome fans! THANK YOU!!
Due to the huge difference in the number of ticket stubs entered between the 13 entrants, we – the staff, have agreed on the following points system. It was a difficult choice for us to make as we all wanted to be fair as we possibly can to all entrants. All 5 of us went through each of your answers thoroughly and gave points independently.
We have awarded 1 point each for every ticket stub entered up to the 15th stub. Thereafter no points will be awarded.
We have also awarded up to a maximum of 10 points for each question, depending on how well thought out the answers were, clarity of explanation and examples given.
For those who did not win this time round, don’t worry! The staff will contact you as soon as possible as we have a little token for participating!
[UPDATE] Here are the winners *APPLAUSE* & their respective scores:
Natasha D’ Cruz – 35.4
Nurul Saion – 34.8
Choo Ping Lou – 34.2
Nurul Amirah – 29.8
Nadia Rafii – 24.2
Grand Winner #1

Grand Winner#2

Consolation Prizes

Winners, please check your inbox as we will be sending you an email regarding your Invitation to the Final Private Screening of Twilight. Thank you.
We must say this: The answers that had been sent in were very intelligent. It surprised us how much emotions were being evoked in other people just by watching the movie. We’d always had rigid views of the film, but reading through some entries made us open up our mindset, and some people even sent in things that we never realized before! We think everyone who submitted their entries put in draconian effort into their answers, and we appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Twilight Singapore Staff

Natasha.. won? The regular Twilighter who drop comments to almost every post here in Twilightsingapore.com. Does she have higher chances of winning because she hangs out with the Twilight staff especially Bessy? Does that makes her the absolute positive definately winner of this contest?
Not to raised issue here, but.. gosh.. spending countless hours cracking my head to answer each tough questions for this questions.. damn.. I felt wasted man..
February 10, 2009 at 11:09 am
Natasha hanging out with Bessy DOES NOT increase her chance of winning this contest at all. If that’s one of the judging criteria, then this contest won’t be a Stubs and Q&A Contest anymore. We judge this purely based on their STUBS + ANSWERS.
Honestly, all of your scores are pretty close to one another, and I can tell you that it is a tough fight. We had to go through the answers numerous times to ensure that all entries are being judged carefully and thoroughly.
Like I said, we really do appreciate every single entry that you guys have sent in! If possible, I would like to give the prizes away to everyone who participated in the contest. But sadly, we could only give it to the Top 5 who really deserve it. Furthermore, we do mention in our post that we have a token of appreciation for those who did not make it.
Unfated, I thank you very much for taking part in our contest. Of course, this isn’t the last contest that we will be having. I’m sure there’s more to come, hence more opportunities will be coming along the way!
Once again, this contest would not have been made possible, thanks to Shaw Organization & Summit Entertainment.
February 10, 2009 at 2:18 pm
HAHA. I can’t stop coming by here and looking at the winners.. I know i won’t stand a chance to win with 3 tix HAHAH!
But i just try out my luck HAHA
My gosh, Natasha and Saion can make a frame out of their ticket stubs.. so many sey LOL
Well anyways, congrats to every winners and those who didn’t win.
Win or not, we all are indeed a huge fan of Twilight
I can’t wait for the.. ‘token of appreciation’ Hahahahax
Any clues? Lol
Well, at least those who didn’t won get to get something to pay off their hardwork and countless hours to answer the question. I know it won’t be that big as the grand prize winner hahax.. but still .. something is better than nothing right?
It’s dissapointing and it did smack me hard not winning but.. i accept truth.
I hope there’s more contest to come coz i will be attacking it
It’s not the end and i’m not giving up still
Thanks for reading my answers which i know is long winded LOLS xD
Well.. take care everyone..
February 10, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Hey Nurul, it was a pleasure reading all of your entries!
You are guys are really awesome to come out with answers like that. It was interesting to see so many different answers
We will contact you further regarding the token of appreciation once we get a full details on that! Thank you!
February 10, 2009 at 3:32 pm
@ Unfated: Haha, Bessy herself told me that she wasn’t biased towards me, and I’m glad they weren’t, because I’d definitely rather be judged based on my answers. I’m sorry you didn’t get it D: Really, I am. I only typed what I felt and I had about 5 minutes to do that, so I made the most of it. O_O;
Haha, and I comment on almost everything, mainly because the NM/Twilight news is something I look forward to seeing everyday, and I usually have an opinion on them too!
@ Nurul: Yeah! I think even though those who didn’t win are DEFINITELY MAJOR TWILIGHTERS. That’s why we’re all here
@ Izzatee: Hahaha, thanks yeah! If anything, I thought Bessy was annoyed cos I kept asking her to watch it with me xD
February 10, 2009 at 3:48 pm
HAHA here i am again.. LOL
I kinda skipped Unfated comment hahax..=X
Ok?
Well.. yea.. If you have time Unfated.. just read all the entries posted here in Twilightsingapore.com and you will see the same name over and over again. Which means, most of us are regular visitors because we are a fan
It’s a contest, you win or lose. It works that way because it WORK that way. Hahax.
I know it’s tough to accept that you didn’t won.. But just accept it if not.. it will be like a i-don’t-want-to-participate-aymore-because-i-didn’t-won-anything kind of feeling. You will have grudge in you.. Yea..
Tasha : You took only 5 mins?! My gosh, power. It took me days LOLS
And congrats
I may drop by again
February 10, 2009 at 4:33 pm
@ Nurul: Yeah I was busy doing my commonwealth essay, and when I looked at the clock I was like ZOMG OH NOOOOOOO IT’S 11.52! So my friend helped me finish the last line of my essay while I scanned in my stubs and typed in answers.
My mum was behind me when I was doing that to make sure my dad didn’t catch me, HAHA!
February 10, 2009 at 4:36 pm
@ Tasha: No probs! And I surely remembered waiting in front of my laptop for 1159Hrs..and one by one, entries kept coming in, before midnight! That was fun..and when it finally hits 1159, I was like – OK guys, sorry, we won’t accept anymore entries
February 10, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Haha! Same, i send in my entries last minute too.
February 10, 2009 at 4:43 pm
@ izzatee: HAHA, what happens if people’s clocks were like 5 minutes slow? xD
@ Nurul: HAHA, *high 5s*. I’m so disorganized!
February 10, 2009 at 4:46 pm
HAHA!! *high 5*
Blamed it on the clock for being 5 minutes slow BUT it is you who adjusted the timing hahax
February 10, 2009 at 4:55 pm
@ Unfated: LOL TASHA DOES NOT DESERVE MY BEING BIAS. XD Right okay, kidding. No I’m actually not surprised that you’d ask such a question, I mean after all it’s no secret Tasha and I are friends, and naturally people tend to get suspicious. No, I didn’t partake in giving her any bonus points.
You see, first of all, I’m like the Alice of Twilight Singapore and the youngest here. In a way, the rest of the staff treat me like a kid and so I have lesser say in things. OMG ROFL NO OFFENSE NASH! I’m not saying they are prejudiced against me, but if I were in their shoes, I would take less opinion from a mere teenager too, right? We are all fair and square and TS listens to me, but YOU KNOW I’M JUST A KID.
So having said that, I really don’t influence much. But even then I must say that it doesn’t mean that just because Nash is the creator, she dictates what we do. No, I’m just saying that we run according to a hierachy and I don’t mind being overlooked at times. I do admit my ideas are sometimes childish.
With that position, and with my being here in a just community, how do you think I’d be able to bribe anyone into handing Tasha the coveted prize?
Secondly, Izzatee has written out in details how our judging system worked, and I’d just like to mention that I was actually quite strict in my judging. I think I’m pretty notorious here for being too logical.
So for Tasha’s answer, fyi, I saw the awarded points from the others and actually realized that I had rated her lower than the others. I don’t think I’m privileged to reveal who or how at this point, but basically just to let you know that I didn’t give Tasha sky high scores.
If I’m not wrong (I’m not too sure because I’ve been caught up with school work and not coming here lately, I’m only here now because of this), currently the others are contemplating revealing our scores for the abovementioned winners and stuff.
Third, just so you know, Tasha does not really exactly “hang out” with all of us. To put things right, I am the only staff member she’s closest to and even then each time we went out it was only to watch the movie. I think I can even try and point out which of her stubs were the days we went to watch, from her scanned in picture!
Fourth – sorry I’m getting too lengthy – I actually saw other answers that were much longer than Tasha’s short few paragraphs and I liked those answers. I saw for myself a few who really put in so much effort into their answers, and there was one particular entry that stood out (to me, at least).
I actually liked that entry a lot because it was one of those few that opened up my eyes and let me look at the movie from a different POV. There were a lot of elaboration and examples and explanation, and I really liked it. Unfortunately, because of the judging system, the girl’s answer didn’t get to the top 5.
I felt disappointed for her actually, because I enjoyed reading her reply for it made so much sense that even though it went against my own personal opinion, I accepted it well.
So, yeah. I’m not mentioning any names of course! Haha but you can try and guess who’s that lucky one who managed to make me agree with her.
I’m so shameless.
Anyway, Unfated, I hope I have managed to at least convince you a little that we were not biased in any way in the process of judging the answers. If you are going for the screening, I hope you’ll be able to understand by the prize presentation then that we did not go against our own conscience.
If not, don’t worry, I think we’ll be documenting the screening event or release the statistics or whatnot.
Good luck to your future participation, okay? I think that personally, you’re pretty lucky. As a staff member, I don’t even get to take part in these contests, so I’m envious of you right now.
February 10, 2009 at 6:11 pm
@ Bessy: Your posts are so long, LOL. I finished 4 oranges reading it!
Was that girl chosen for the other contest? D: I hope she was!
February 10, 2009 at 6:22 pm
THAT’S BECAUSE YOU HAVE HIGH METABOLISM AND ENERGETIC JAWS. NONE OF MY BUSINESS.
Hmm, shan’t say. LOL.
February 10, 2009 at 6:28 pm
@ Bessy: Uhuh, I’M PRETTY ENVIOUS OF THE WINNERS TOO. WE’RE ON THE SAME BOAT. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH.
February 10, 2009 at 6:31 pm

February 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm

February 10, 2009 at 7:23 pm

February 10, 2009 at 9:09 pm

February 10, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Hi All – Scores published! Check the entry, thanks!
February 10, 2009 at 9:44 pm
@ tasha.
I have nothing to say. The points are REALLY CLOSE!
February 10, 2009 at 9:55 pm
** @ tasha, thanks too:D
I have nothing to say. The points are REALLY CLOSE!
February 10, 2009 at 9:57 pm
:O A mere lost of 0.6 points, what a shame. It’ll be such a big blow considering the prize difference as a Grand Prize Winner and a Consolation Winner. I bet the person who’d have felt better w/o the scores published. Probably you guys can offer some insights on your judgement? I think the person who appreciate it, really.
February 10, 2009 at 9:59 pm
EXTRACT: Due to the huge difference in the number of ticket stubs entered between the 13 entrants, we – the staff, have agreed on the following points system. It was a difficult choice for us to make as we all wanted to be fair as we possibly can to all entrants. All 5 of us went through each of your answers thoroughly and gave points independently.

We have also awarded up to a maximum of 10 points for each question, depending on how well thought out the answers were, clarity of explanation and examples given.
February 10, 2009 at 10:03 pm
LOL I read the post. What I meant by ‘judgement’ wasn’t according to rubrics or criteria. You can probably like, uh, make a comparison? Like for example, by showing how the grand prize winner had a better advantage because she expressed certain arguments more strongly as opposed to the consolation winner? and in case you’re wondering, I’m not trying to make it hard for anyone or be some ‘Audeince Sore Loser’ LOL. So yeah, just offering my point of view and opinion but feel free to disagree with me!
February 10, 2009 at 10:09 pm
/edit And I understood the point system used, i.e. max of 15 points awarded for stubs submitted and a max of 30 points awarded for the 3 questions, depending on how well you answer the question. To be fair, each piece submitted is also vetted by different staffs. Understood fully.
February 10, 2009 at 10:12 pm
wahh..does that mean that my answers did help?
coz i think my tix was only accepted as 4, not 5.
phew. *thinking what it would be like if i have the 15 points in hand for tix*
hmmm…hahaha!
Anyway, congrats everybody on winning the Q&A and Private Screening contest, and esp to those who took part and gave their all out in the contests.
See you this Friday!
I’m dragging my guyfren along. hahaha.
February 10, 2009 at 10:16 pm
@ Nad: LOL, your answers did help!
Hope you’ll enjoy yourself on friday! Make this the happiest Friday the 13th ever, cheers!
February 10, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Bytheway, can I request Twilight notebooks or posters or mugs or t-shirts for consolation prize? I want them badly, I may be willing to give my dvd up for them because the dvd can be bought.
February 10, 2009 at 10:48 pm
@ WY, a very good point made. I will like to know too.
I think I lost because I didnt give much examples for the last question? I thought we dont need to do so as the question didnt say so. Okay,it is too late for everything T________T
P.S. Sorry/Thanks for “listening” to my complaint.
February 10, 2009 at 11:01 pm
1 point for each ticket stubs.. sooo.. i confirmCONFIRM get.. 3 point.. err ok .. HAHA -_-
February 10, 2009 at 11:56 pm
WY: Thank you!
Vanessa: I think you can still get the Twilight t-shirt and other merchandize from Popcorn shop at Esplanade. I got mine there last Dec. I even bought the magnets. I think i wanna go there again to check if they have other new stuffs. Really love that shop and I always get my fav movie posters from there. ok, enuf promotion.
February 11, 2009 at 2:51 pm
If anyone wants to listen to my (late) honest opinion, I think the judges were looking for not so much of essays but rather answers that can be explained deeply. Whether that included examples was up to you, but definitely we were on the lookout for people who were able to express their point strongly and clearly. Enough to convince us.
In a human nature way, I should say that for example is someone is providing a conventional answer, we tend to look at the reasons and see if that is persuading enough, so, yeah.
February 13, 2009 at 11:37 pm
“For those who did not win this time round, don’t worry! The staff will contact you as soon as possible as we have a little token for participating!”
So those who participate, what they get?
