Twilight Movie Stubs and Q&A Contest

ticketstubq&a
Remember all those incessant reminders to ask you to keep your ticket stubs? Well, the stubs you have now are precious! We are organizing a Twilight Movie Stubs and Q&A Contest (I know, such a long name) and at the end of the day, someone will be walking home with an exclusive prize! Currently it is being kept as a surprise, but I can assure you that it is wonderful.

All you have to do to secure a chance of winning the exclusive prize is to follow the instructions below.
Instructions:

  1. Scan in your own ticket stubs. They must be only your own stubs and no one else’s. Do not resize the scan too.
  2. Copy and paste the following requirements into a new email message and fill up the fields with your personal details.
  3. Name:

    Age:

    Gender:

    Contact number:

  4. Answer the following questions in your email message. Number your answers so we know which paragraphs are pertaining to which question.
  5. Attach your scan as a file and send the email to twilightsingaporeexclusive@gmail.com with the subject titled ‘Twilight Movie Stubs and Q&A Contest’.

Questions:

  1. As you can see, there are many inconsistencies within the movie, both script-wise and shooting-wise. Which is the one inconsistency that bugs you the most?
  2. Among the soundtrack/placement of music/score, make-up, wardrobe styling and casting, which aspect do you think has been the best and worst respectively?
  3. With regards to the exact lines said, the atmosphere, the details and everything else, which scene in the movie do you think stayed most faithfully to the book? Also, being a fan, do you think that just because said scene has been true to the novel, you like it more than the rest of the movie? Why or why not?

Rules:

  1. Each person is entitled to only one submission.
  2. Only movie stubs from Singaporean cinemas can be used in this contest. They must be dated only from 12 December 2008 onwards.
  3. Do not be afraid to voice out your true opinion when answering the questions.
  4. Deadline: To be determined. Therefore, while Twilight is still showing in cinemas, you should collect as many ticket stubs as possible!
  5. Last but not least, please be honest! :)

UPDATE (8 January 2008):
Well, because apparently there are still people who wish to watch Twilight, it will be playing for another 2 weeks. So far there is no definite closing date.

Prizes:
There will be a total of 5 winners for this contest!

  • 2 Grand Winners: Surprise prize + Twilight DVD each
  • 3 Consolation Winners: Twilight DVD each
All 5 winners will be invited to the private final screening of Twilight at Shaw. The prize presentation will be done at the screening which will be happening on Friday, 30 January 2009 at 1930 or 7:30p.m. More details will be emailed out when the results are announced.
  • UPDATE  25 Jan 2009:

The prize presentation will be done at the final screening on Friday, 6th February. 7pm.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  • The prizes are courtesy of Shaw and Summit Entertainment

    Thank you!

Haha don’t worry you guys… its inevitable really! Why do you think we are watching it so many times :) Just watch at those places that show the film and collect your ticket stubs.

Just came back from #10 and saw it with 4 of my friends one of whom just read the book! Mind you in 4 days! YAY! Angelica!!
It was awesome! Going by the packed house tonight at Lido 3 – it’ll still run for a little while more. No official word yet on when it will finish. People seem to like this movie you know ;)

I am just wondering can anybody give a shoutout at how many ticket stubs they have so far?

      January 4, 2009 at 9:33 pm

hello:D hmmms, I have 2 movie stubs only. May I know if those who had won past competitions are allowed to participate? because it is unfair to those who never win anything; less chances…

    14. 14 Profit2829
      January 5, 2009 at 10:29 am

Hi Cherry! The tickets that are gonna count are only those bought from 12the Dec onwards. So the winners that have attended the premiere on the 9th – their tickets are void.

So everyone has equal chance!! Past winners do qualify!!!

      Anyone else has 4? 6? 10?

    15. 15 Christine
      January 7, 2009 at 7:58 pm

Do you need the most number of tickets to win? Cos my pile is pretty pathetic ><

    16. 16 Profit2829
      January 7, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Yes Christine! As many as you have and of cos the more the better! Scan em and answer our questions..and email us. Note: no closing date yet.

Guess what I saw Twilight #11 at Century Square! The best seats in Singapore!

    17. 17 Mrs Edward Cullen
      January 7, 2009 at 11:58 pm

I’ll send a email of the number of times I watched. =P I didn’t keep the ticket stub the first time so awww. =(

    18. 18 Mrs Edward Cullen
      January 8, 2009 at 1:06 am

@Profit2829, just wondering, why are the seats at Century the best? :P What time was your movie? Sometimes different movie timings have different theatres, I wanna know what time to go. Hehehe.

    19. 19 =]
      January 8, 2009 at 2:26 pm

Yea it’s a surprise to me that Century square is much comfy than the Golden Village in Tampines Mall. I never went to Century one before..Because it looks deserted..But i only went once to watch Twilight and i was amazed that..It’s not that bad as it seems! HAHA!I would definately go to the Century if i were given a choice.. :D

    20. 20 Profit2829
      January 8, 2009 at 4:06 pm

All the theaters at Century square has the same comfy seats. And you don’t have to wait too long for the film to start. Most GV theaters have 20-30 mins advert.

I heart Century Square cinema…comfy & cosy. One time I rushed down to see one film and the attendant told me that I was the only watching the film and they may not show it. I said nooooooooooo and please.. In the end, I had the whole cinema to myself! :)

      January 9, 2009 at 12:02 am

okay, I have to say..i am tempted to participate in this now.Is it possible to win the surprise prize with at least 2 tickets with possibly the best answers all round?

    24. January 9, 2009 at 1:12 am

Aiyaahh! Shame I dun qualify :P (….hmmm can we bend the rules boss?!)

Yes Shirley Soon…the more stubs the higher chance of winning!

@Mrs Edward Cullen – no it was only half full. Theater #5

Twilight will be in the theaters for 1 month on 12th Jan?!! Is that normal…am wondering?!! What happen to the Keanu Reeves movie?
Wow its soo cool that more people are realizing how good this film is.
People continue tell your friends and family about this film!!

One way is to send the trailers to them on FACEBOOK or Myspace or Friendster etc. Give them the chance to watch it in the big screen before it closes its run in the cinema!!

    29. 29 Profit2829
      January 10, 2009 at 8:51 am

Aiyah you all…misunderstand me lah. Ten minimum for me, myself and I! NOT for the contest. When Twilight first came out I made it a target for myself to watch it minimum 10 times cos I wanna support the movie so that New Moon can be made…remember??!! (Turns out I enjoyed it soo much…) Well the US fans accomplished that. So now am just supporting Twilight’s box office results overseas ie Singapore or Asia for that matter. Anyway I don’t qualify for the contest and like the rest I soooo want that surprise prize too!
      @Bessy *:P* YES ok lah…..

We’ve offered up this ‘surprise prize’ for YOU the fans in Singapore because you deserve it! Twilight is the first instalment of the saga and when New Moon,Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (pls!) comes out and it becomes SOOOOOOO SUCCESSFUL… and you have this ‘surprise prize’ (have to come up with a nickname for this thing already!)…. THEEEEN YOU KNOW!!! :) Seriously…then you know!!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! *hyperventilating* then *pondering upon the prize* OMG! OMG!

    30. 30 Popet2829
      January 10, 2009 at 9:31 am

Hahaha I mean… Better you know now lah…

try to get it NOW! So tell us how many times have you seen Twilight in the cinemas?!

    31. 31 Bessy
      January 10, 2009 at 11:17 pm

@ shirleysoon: Just in case you didn’t understand Maria’s incoherence (ROFL), there isn’t any minimum for anything, just that you should try and collect as many stubs as possible. This contest actually focuses a lot on the number of stubs you have. The movie is closing soon, so do please watch it as many more times as possible! After all, once it’s off, you won’t get another chance to watch it again with that cinematic feel. Sigh. :(

WATCH. COLLECT. ENTER. WIN*. FOUR SIMPLE EASY STEPS WHOOOOOOOOOO.

      *Based on your ability muahaha.

      January 11, 2009 at 7:07 pm

hello mrs edward cullen, how many stubs you collected?

    38. 38 Bessy
      January 11, 2009 at 8:10 pm

@ Maria: LOL, NO PROBLEM MAAAAAAAAAAN.

@ vanessa: It is tentatively set to close in about the third week of January or slightly later, though no exact date yet as if the show is still selling well, the deadline just *might* be extended. *Might*, but not confirmed.

For the past two days, I’ve gone to seen it and each time the tickets were sold out and the whole cinema was filled to the brim. Like maybe only two empty seats or so. Even the front rows are occupied completely. Therefore I’m hoping Shaw would continue showing it maybe even until next month! After, the film is opening only in February in Japan.

Anyway, as soon as the official last date for Twilight is confirmed, we will update this post and let you guys know. As of now, we are planning to give a three-day space between the closing date of the movie and the deadline for entering this contest, but because things are unsteady and cannot be officially decided upon, till there’s further details, we’ll just wait. :D

      January 11, 2009 at 9:54 pm

@ Bessy: I think cinemas 4 was full cos the number of seats in that cinema was equivalent to the number of seats taken in cinema 1 last time. And that since it’s closing soon, people wanna watch it.
So many ang mohs watched it today, yeah? xD

OMG I am preparing lunch and had the Twilight OST on full blast…

Was thinking of the limited shows of Twilight in the cinemas…. THEN IT HIT ME!!

I suddenly feel soooo sad… I won’t be able to see in the big screen how Edward walks in the cafeteria that first day… the ‘phenomenon’ scene in the parking lot, the confession, the close up in between the rocks when Edward said, “You don’t how long I’ve waited for you..”, Edward & Bella lying on the meadow looking at each other… my favourite scene of the date on the trees with that beautiful view…………..the first kiss……………… the baseball scene…..the gazebo scene at the prom with “flightless bird playing on the background” and when Bella says, “I always want you forever”……Edward kissing Bella fervently…

      AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW boooohooooooooooo

      *crying*

      OMG OMG OMGGGGGGGGGG !!

I am actually literally having TWILIGHT WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS!!!!

@ vanessa: Nope, it does not count. Heh, actually when our rule said, Last but not least, please be honest!, it also meant that you can only use your very own ticket stub, and not your friend’s. Got it? Don’t worry, I’m not accusing you of being dishonest, but just to let you know. Does that answer your question? :D

      January 23, 2009 at 10:10 am

If you can afford and comes from a well brought up family,of course you can afford to watch Twilight over and over again. Thus, more ticket stubs and the higher chances of you winning right?
I’m not entering this contest as my chances are low of winning. However, sorry to say this, isn’t it unfair to some extend to those who really love Twilight so much and collected their own savings? Teenagers now can earn their own money but for me i know that i can’t balance education with work thus i concentrate more on my studies so that hopefully in years to come i can get more than what i am qualified now.
I watched Twilight for 3 times and it took me alot of days to collect to that certain amount. I do want to watch Twilight again and again like most of you lucky Twilighters do. I am currently saving my money again to buy the DVD soon.
I hope Twilighters are not paying more to watch Twilight again just to get more ticket stubs too..=]
I still support Twilight be it winning the contest or not. =]
So good luck for those entering the contest =]

    107. 107 Bessy
      January 23, 2009 at 9:56 pm

@ Just Me =]: The purpose of this contest is to give away the prizes to deserving fans. Yes, different Twilighters have different family backgrounds, and the staff here at Twilight Singapore have thought it through too – and we did not see any better formula to digging out a true fan (or two, rather) than organizing this contest.

I understand your situation, but to us, this contest is fair enough. :)

    108. 108 Evens
      January 24, 2009 at 9:40 pm

      To Bessy :
      I read ‘JUST ME’ message.

I thought it would be nice that the contest is judged based on the questions about the movie and the book. Everyone can participate.
Collecting ticket stubs could be ‘tough’ for some fans.

If the winning point is about collecting as many ticket stubs as one can, why are the questions ‘pose’ as part of the winning criteria..? Which I am referring to the 3 questions that are suppose to be answered by participants (with attachment of the ticket stubs)

For instance, if a participant has a better answer but collected lesser ticket stubs than another participant who has an average answer but more ticket stubs, how will the TWILIGHTSINGAPORE co-ordinators choose the winner? Hence, in short , the questions are unnecessary if the winner is judged according to the amount of ticket stubs he/she collected.

This website is very endearing. People log in here to share about twilight.
I feel that the questions are good and it made twilight fans do more research and find out more about twilight before answering. Especially the 3rd question.

Bessy……….(sigh) as you mentioned in ur last message above that:
“…the staff here at Twilight Singapore have thought it through too – and we did not see any better formula to digging out a true fan (or two, rather) than organizing this contest”

The definition of a fan is an ardent follower and admirer or devotee.
So, if he/she is a true hardcore fan, he/she will ‘religiously’ follow up with all the insight details of twilight and by posing questions, it is one way to intelligently prove whether the person is a twilight true fan or not.

But by including the ticket stubs as part of the winning criteria, fans will definitely buy more tickets in hoping that they will win if they collect more. I am sure every fans hope to win everytime they buy the tickets and watch it.
So, if they didnt win, can you imagine the disappoinment they feel over this matter?
we are not talking about 10 TWILIGHT SINGAPORE FANS, I am referring to all those, probably hundreds or thousands of our local twilight fans.

The money they spent of buying the tickets cannot be compared to the cost of ONE DVD which they can easily buy in stores where it is released.
but the lost which the fans feel ….if they didnt win….
its the lost that they spent for the contest and the lost when they didn win….

I think the best prize that you can give to the winner is by inviting Rob Pattinson over to Singapore and let ALL the fans see him during the private screening.
or maybe 5 plane tickets which enables the winners to go to the filming location of new moon, document their experience over there and share it with all the fans here who didnt get to win the contest.

      Come to think of it.
the whole capitalism infrastructure is very worrying.
This contest and prizes are courtesy of Shaw and Summit Entertainment isnt it?
So like it or not, the money which the fans spent for this contest will go to Summit Entertainment. So when they didnt win anything, Summit Entertainment still gets the profit and how about the fans? What do they get for loyally buying tickets for the contest apart from watching the movie repetitively? How is that fair for the rest of the fans?

I am definitely not opposing you guys for organising this.
You did a wonderful job putting up this website and manage to gather the fans here, in one ‘room’, and they get to more twilight fans and share their thoughts. The updates, the pictures, the open book discussion, the movie updates etc….., You guys did great.
You guys work like in a coven and bring twilighters together.

I gave much thought b4 posting this.
Will I receive hate-mails after this? or maybe will I not be welcomed in here anymore?
If i post this, will it sound like an opposition or rebel against the contest or whatever it might turn out to be……

    109. 109 vanessa
      January 25, 2009 at 1:11 am

@ Evens, you will not receive hate mails or not not be welcomed here because I do believe we are all reasonable people.

I understand both your point of view and Bessy’s. Things cant be always perfect, it will not please everyone.

For my imagination, the questions are there at least for true Twilighters. Who knows IF someone (not a Twilighter) thinks this is profitable as he/she can put it up in E-bay? The person will win the contest so so easily without the questions. And he/she will earn back the money spent on the tickets and have lots left from the auction because Twilighters from all over the world will be fighting for it.I do see this kind of people, putting up Rob and Kristen autographs for auction. (I will never do that anyway, I will just put the autographs into a frame.)

Moreover, this is not the one and only contest in the website. For instance, the contests for the Final Private Screening and Premiere(previous)require no money but creative answers. Every Twilighter get to participate and win something.

Finally, I want to say that IF “a participant has a better answer but collected lesser ticket stubs than another participant who has an average answer but more ticket stubs.” Who should the prize be given? Have you consider that the one with the average answer had already tried his/her best in writing the answers but is poor in the command of English and bad at expressing his/herself(thoughts,ideas,feelings)? For example, me. I always score badly for essays and not that good in expressing myself.(I think I am offending people now which I do not wish to.) Does it mean I am not an ardent fan? I have read TwilightSaga for at least 4 times because I just started it last december. My friends are irritated by me as I keep talking about Twilight. And I participated in every contests(mag and newspapers) for Twilight Merchandize but in the end, I ended up with nothing. I would say you need luck in winning contests, including the ones organised by TwilightSingapore. MAYBE the anwsers are creative to some people or they just do not appeal to others? Can someone really define better and more creative answers?

Hence, there are so many IFs and MAYBE. Things cannot be perfect so just stick to the original plan.
By the way, life isn’t fair.

P.S I am sorry if my reply is childrish or immature.
This is like my first reaction(thoughts) upon seeing the comments above.

    110. 110 popet2829
      January 25, 2009 at 2:33 am

      Hello Evens,

      Maria here.

Your suggestion of the prize would be AWESOME though at this point we may not yet have the capability or influence to do/get just that.(And to the Summit people who are lurking here Pretty Please :) !!) It may happen, it may not.
So for now, we will work with what we have to make it fun and exciting for the local fans with regards the Twilight experience that has to do with the films and the books.

We are grateful to Summit & Shaw who have generously grant the fans the prizes despite our other requests. (Don’t worry we are a thick-skinned bunch.. we’ll keep on trying!)

The main reason we had the questions were to make the fans ‘work harder’ for the surprise prize and not just buy and accumulate the tickets.

Ultimately, this is a contest and winning or losing is NOT, by means to an end as you have obviously put it. Yes disappointments will arise but it will not be as bad as you describe. Please give credit to the fans because they are intelligent and they understand how this works. Furthermore, in future there will be other events that we will organise which we hope the fans will take part in.

First things first, pardon me if my figure of speech is offending, too much Dante Valentine, Jill Kismet, Anita Blake and Betsy books would do that to you. Kay, so to clear things up, ’cause right now I’m really, I mean REALLY, confused, putting the whole crap of being unable to express ourselves aside, god knows i sometimes am -though most of the time I shoot my mouth off- do the number of tickets play a bigger role, or are the answers the crucial thing? I mean, sure the tickets are important, but you’ve gotta know how to answer a few simple questions, right??? It’s not like they’re asking for a model esay or anything. Hold on, are they? That aside, is the contest over yet? ‘Cause I’m still digging up a couple more ticket stubs, I can’t seem to find them, typical of me. When’s the real final deadline, or rather, the question should be, is the deadline up yet?

      January 25, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Thank you, Maria for your prompt clarification.

However, the deadline seems undetermined yet.

Participants need to know when the exact deadline is suppose to be, considering that they are faithfully into participating in this contest.

According to the information given in this website, the prize presentation will be carried out at the screening on Friday 30th January 2009 at 7:30pm.

I really need to highlight this.
But if you look at today’s date, it is 25th JANUARY 2009, which is 5 days before the date of the presentation.

When is Shaw Entertainment going to work out the deadline or should it be the organizers should be in-charge of this?

If the final screening falls on the 30th January, the deadline should be at least 5 days before that. So that the organizers or team have ample time to peruse through the e-mails from the participants, select the winners and at least another day to liaise with Shaw’s Entertainment about the winners and prepare proper preparation for the prize presentation event.

The winners should be informed at least 2 days before the day of the prize presentation and at least they have to be briefed about the schedule of the prize presentation.

. Eg: What time they should be there, what time the presentation begins and where they will be sitted when the event started or which person from the TWILIGHT SINGAPORE who will be with them to guide them through the procedure of the presentation.

However, if the prize presentation date is going to be changed and since Shaw is the host venue for this event, then they should consult the TWILIGHTSINGAPORE team to take that date OFF from the website to avoid more confusion.
(I’m referring to the date in the website)

And is Summit Entertainment really involved in this contest? Are they aware of this?

Shaw should work out the deadline with the TWILIGHTSINGAPORE TEAM so that the fans don’t get more confused over the deadline for this contest.

      Fans, do take note :)
      Thanks Maria :)

The edit will be done now.

      January 25, 2009 at 11:28 pm

      Adding to your comments Evens:

Shaw is doing its best to cater to the demand for this film as there has been growing interest in Twilight in the past couple of weeks. Its been in the cinema for more than a month and we are immensely elated because of this. I am very sure the fans are as well.

Hence this will translate in more chances for people who are not fans to discover and experience Twilight and hopefully discover the books as well! We don’t wanna stop that now, do we?
Should there be an extension of it showing in Singapore we would be more than happy to postpone the final screening date again.

As I have mentioned repeatedly, Shaw has been very generous to us the fans in our ‘Twilight experience’ in Singapore and we are very grateful because of this.
      THANK YOU SHAW!!
They have made it utterly fun for us so please stop dissing them.

@ Evens: I am just going to be extremely straightforward in my answer, so don’t mind me.

Exactly! Precisely because you, as an outsider, are not aware of what us the staff at Twilight Singapore have been doing, therefore you have come up with such a question. Believe me, when we went through the details of exactly how the contest should be judged, we devised a very meticulous and fair judging system.

If you wish to listen, I just want to say that do not worry, because both the ticket stubs and answers are equally important in this competition. For the stubs, nothing much can be said except the quantity but for the answers, we are looking for quality.

To briefly describe the system (since I don’t think I’m entitled to share with everyone exactly how we’ll go about doing it), all of us at Twilight Singapore will be judging each and every entry very closely and the ultimate two winners can be rightly defined as two deserving fans we all agree upon, due to the nature of the judging.

But by including the ticket stubs as part of the winning criteria, fans will definitely buy more tickets in hoping that they will win if they collect more. I am sure every fans hope to win everytime they buy the tickets and watch it.
Firstly, you have to know that we have based this contest on the premise of support being shown to the movie. I must say that, other than proving one’s support by the number of ticket stubs, I don’t think there’s any other way to show real, financial support.

But on the other hand, just because one hasn’t watched the movie 29 times, does not mean that an observant fan hasn’t tried fervently to support the movie. We *have* indeed thought that through. Not everyone is financially capable of donating to the box office – therefore, we have created questions. We initially started off with 5 of those questions, but we narrowed it down to just three.

So, if they didnt win, can you imagine the disappoinment they feel over this matter?
we are not talking about 10 TWILIGHT SINGAPORE FANS, I am referring to all those, probably hundreds or thousands of our local twilight fans.

I’m sorry but, as very aptly mentioned, this is a contest. However, like I explained above, said contest has placed equal emphasis both the number of ticket stubs and the answers to the questions, thus I don’t see anymore problem. I can’t guarantee this, but after the winners to the contest have been announced, we may release information on how we’d judged. Similarly, this is still the reason I’d give you for the rest of your claims that fans would feel disappointed for not winning, so I shan’t elaborate anymore.

The money they spent of buying the tickets cannot be compared to the cost of ONE DVD which they can easily buy in stores where it is released.
Yes, but you must take into consideration that we are offering more than just one DVD. Being an outsider once again, I have to say that the prizes consist of not just the DVD but a surprise prize. Now, if the surprise prize was not really what we felt “worthy” (in a way), I don’t think we would have organized a contest with such demanding criteria to determine deserving winners, correct?

I think the best prize that you can give to the winner is by inviting Rob Pattinson over to Singapore and let ALL the fans see him during the private screening.
or maybe 5 plane tickets which enables the winners to go to the filming location of new moon, document their experience over there and share it with all the fans here who didnt get to win the contest.

If you can think of it, do you think the idea never crossed our mind? But you need to look at the economy and advertising from the studio’s point of view. What profit will Summit gain by letting Rob fly over, or letting us go there? He has now officially become a mainstream actor and that changes a lot of things – and the only promotion they are doing within the Asia continent is to Japan.

For some reason I can’t comprehend, Japan has long been perceived as the epitome of good advertising for the Eastern side of the world. Therefore Singapore, a small island city of its own, would have no say in getting Hollywood stars to arrive upon her shores, lest the leading stars. It’s really out of the question.

In fact, just fyi, before planning of the Twilight Soiree officially began, we’d worked with Athena to try and brainstorm a few attractive factors to get more people to sign up for the event. We came up with a very nice idea: To get Stephenie Meyer to film a video to send to us fans.

However, in the end the idea was shelved because of certain rejections. If Stephenie, merely the author and of whom acting is not required of, cannot even entertain a simple request from us, I see no reason why Rob, or even anyone from the cast for that matter, would be able to find the time to come.

Even then, sending people on a trip to the filming locations requires sponsors. Just look briefly around – I don’t think I would be able to find any willing companies to sponsor an expensive trip like that. After all, such a trip would not benefit any companies, nor bring promotion to the movie locally.

Also, I’m sure Maria’s explanation suffices too.

So like it or not, this is a contest. I don’t see why you are upset that this contest is not “fair”. To be honest, in my opinion, if you are a true fan, you would not purposely watch the movie too many times just to win this contest. Instead, you would watch within your limits and enter this contest on the hopes that you win. After all, this is a contest. And if you don’t win, there is no guilt trip! Because you hadn’t done anything explicably beyond your abilities, and hadn’t sacrificed anything just for the sake of this contest. In the meantime, you still enjoyed the movie that many times.

Will I receive hate-mails after this? or maybe will I not be welcomed in here anymore?
Definitely not. We welcome people to challenge us, okay. Twilight Singapore is really just run by humans (no vampires, I can assure you) so once in a while if someone finds due errors in what we do, I hope people can point it out so we know where to improve on.

However, the deadline seems undetermined yet.

Participants need to know when the exact deadline is suppose to be, considering that they are faithfully into participating in this contest.
Yes, the deadline till date is *still* undetermined. Shaw has not confirmed exactly when the last showing is, but it has only been estimated to be soon, therefore on the date of the last showing, we will be updated on it, and we will then update you guys on the closing date of the contest.

According to the information given in this website, the prize presentation will be carried out at the screening on Friday 30th January 2009 at 7:30pm.
Yes, I apologize for not updating the entry. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The winners should be informed at least 2 days before the day of the prize presentation and at least they have to be briefed about the schedule of the prize presentation.
That, we will definitely carry out. In our past events, we have gone through this in detail and we did not miss sending out repeated reminders, in addition to our initial confirmation. I’m confident you can trust us on this. We at Twilight Singapore are aware of what we are doing.

And is Summit Entertainment really involved in this contest? Are they aware of this?
I believe we are not entitled to reveal this, at least not for now.

@ vanessa: Finally, I want to say that IF “a participant has a better answer but collected lesser ticket stubs than another participant who has an average answer but more ticket stubs.” Who should the prize be given? Have you consider that the one with the average answer had already tried his/her best in writing the answers but is poor in the command of English and bad at expressing his/herself(thoughts,ideas,feelings)?
I just want to mention that, because I am the main I/C of the weekly book discussion, I consider myself to be quite understanding when it comes to people who end their replies with “I think that doesn’t make sense”. But I must also say that, like what I’d said to Evens above, “For the stubs, nothing much can be said except the quantity but for the answers, we are looking for quality.”

What does that mean? It means that it doesn’t matter how bad your spelling or grammar or even punctuation is, as long as we are able to comprehend what you’re talking about in your answer, it’s all right. We are not looking for potential typists in this contest, we’re simply looking for people who can give us in-depth answers.

      Does that clarify your doubts?

MAYBE the anwsers are creative to some people or they just do not appeal to others? Can someone really define better and more creative answers?
Once again, like I’d explained to Evens, “To briefly describe the system (since I don’t think I’m entitled to share with everyone exactly how we’ll go about doing it), all of us at Twilight Singapore will be judging each and every entry very closely and the ultimate two winners can be rightly defined as two deserving fans we all agree upon, due to the nature of the judging.”

Basically, all of us will be judging, not just appointed people among us. To look further, us staff from Twilight Singapore actually come from different generations. I am the youngest in here, and so I can probably translate the whims of a fellow teenager, and maybe Nasyita would be able to understand the point of view of a more mature adult.

Ergo I believe that is the best we could offer, and I’m very positive the system will work out. In fact, among us here in Twilight Singapore, we often get into little squabbles because of our differing opinions, whether over the movie or the books it’s all the same.

P.S I am sorry if my reply is childrish or immature.
It definitely wasn’t. I’m pretty sure you were expressing the same worry many other people here felt too.

      @ Maria: I KNOW IT’S MY HEAD! NOOOOOOOOO DON’T KILL ME! :D

Thank you Maria and Bessy for explaining enough.

Apologies to all our readers if any of you get confused about the details that we have been providing.

As for now, i hope everything is kinda settled. And yes, we know, we know, we know about the deadline.

Shaw has kindly extended the Twilight timings since last week for EVERYONE OF US HERE IN SINGAPORE.

The deadline has not been confirmed yet. And for that, i am very thankful to SHAW! :D
EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD. SERIOUSLY. WITHOUT SHAW, THERE WOULD BE NO THIS, THERE WOULD BE NO THAT.

And, Twilight Singapore is very grateful to be working with Shaw for all these while :D

Adding on to what Bessy mentioned, yes, Nasyita and myself included are of the same age. And yes, i perfectly understood what Evens is trying to point out too.

Therefore, for those who can still afford to watch it on cinemas, go ahead by all means.

For those who can’t do that, don’t worry and we’re not going to bite. We can all wait for the dvd to be release here (that’s what i’m doing currently!). And with the unstable economy right now, i’m sure everyone is thinking twice now before spending.

So, we’re trying our best. Most of us here are still juggling school, work and life.

But, as always, feedbacks and suggestions are welcome to make this place a HAPPY PLACE for all! Thank you for your support.

Nurul, since your scanner is dead, yeah, i believed you can take pictures of it.
But do ensure that it is of HQ so that the details on the stubs can be seen!

      Good luck!

Yupp Nurul, do try and take a HQ photo. Best if your camera resolution is large. Remember – do not resize!
