In light of the news that Catherine will not be returning to New Moon, a few members and myself (Chelsea) decided that we should show Catherine how much we appreciated her work on Twilight.

i’ve caught the sneaks to twilight on friday, and frankly i’m glad that she would not be returning to the new moon set. i think as a director, she did not do the book justice and her direction on the movie did not make the cullens dazzling enough or make the romance btw bella and edward ‘real’.
the effects were not as cool as you would expect, esp after reading the book, and seeing movies like x-men and even the golden compass and her perspective made the movie so ‘childish’ instead of how mature the book is.
srsly hated the movie- i hope the next director gives it more presence. dun wanna spoil it for you guys though. if you’re just watching it as a visual aid to the book, you’d be satisfied that e.cullen is super hot in ‘reel’ life. =]
LOVE CATHERINE. I love her enthusiasm and her devotion to the book, and how hard she worked with Stephenie Meyer to make a faithful adaptation of it. Her passion and deep understanding of Bella&Edward’s relationship are palpable!
I agree, however, that her style of directing (indie) may not be the best for Twilight. But she did a great job, nonetheless. And she made the cast really close-knit and bond really quickly. We got such great chemistry partly due to her too!
