I left the theater SPEECHLESS!!!!
And only 3 letters running in my mind: OMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMOEMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOMEOME………………………………………

it’s a YAY!
if you don’t think about the book while watching it,
cos there’s like a lot of scenes missing,
and the movie most probably doesn’t match up to the Twilight story that you have in your head.
oh, and i think Catherine shouldn’t have keep filming only the top of the actors.
so anyway,
i love the cast:
the Cullen boys were freaking hot 8D
and Carlisle’s eye-candy, haha.
and Rosalie’s facial expressions are CLASSIC (lol)
and Alice is perfect,
and did anyone notice Jessica and Angela being dazzled?
and the baseball scene was AWESOME (best eye-candy scene):D
and i think the movie really captured the emotions of the book
so yeah,
freaking AWESOME movie.
would watch it a million times in theaters if i had the cash
and to make the movie more fun(ny), bring another twihard along:
i had loads of fun watching with Mira cos we were reciting all the lines and screaming out names and making fun of the characters and singing the credits xD
(woah long post o.o)
December 10, 2008 at 7:46 pm
YAY!
I love the vampire baseball scene, the prom scene and the fight scene!
The movie is good when you haven’t read the book, but its still awesome!
OMG, I totally love ROBERT PATTINSON!
I think that the movie is too fast-paced. However, they did bring out the characters’ personality and such.
When Edward saved Bella when she was in Port Angeles, I can feel Edward’s anger and desire to kill! Robert Pattinson is really a great actor.
I love the Cullen guys!
Eric Yorkie and Mike Newton are very very cute! HAHA.
December 10, 2008 at 7:51 pm
DID ANYONE ELSE HEAR EDWARD GROWL?
lol.
freaking sexy <3
and yeah the movie was kinda fast pace, but it’s alr 2 1/2 hrs.
any longer and ppl will complain it’s too slow LOL.
December 10, 2008 at 8:00 pm
AISHAH, ur OMEOMEOMEOME is out of the comment box already! lol!
December 10, 2008 at 8:02 pm
ROFL.
The flaw that I didn’t like was that Edward’s and Bella’s relationship moved way too fast in the movie as compared to the book. What happens to the day where they each had a day to ask the other questions?
And Bella isn’t talking in her sleep!!!
Other than that, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the vampire baseball scene. It was soo cool!
Emmett cathes the ball, and Rosalie goes, “My monkey man..”. WICKED..
December 10, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I CAN ONLY SAY ONE LINE.
GO FREAKING WATCH THE MOVIE! WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE READING ALL THESE?! IT’S AWESOME!
but on the other hand, cause we all read the book, i find it too fast-paced, like all the scenes just keep coming along, and they didnt film that intense dim-lit biology class that Bella kept wanting to touch Edward. Honestly 2hour isnt enough at all. I am waiting to see if the DVD version will have lot more scenes. We all saw how much other scenes there were when the credits rolls on. ((:
December 10, 2008 at 8:08 pm
I’m thinking the same too Aishah. The movie was too fast-paced and they sped by Edward and Bella’s relationship. I think those who have not read the book might be a bit clueless about some parts of the movie. But I have to agree with you! The baseball scene was AMAZING! And seriously, I can’t stop thinking of both the baseball scene and the fight scene! And the kissing scene OME! CAN YOU SAY INTENSE! LOL
December 10, 2008 at 8:11 pm
OME OME OME OME I AGREE WITH CHRISTINE ME N HER HAD A BLASTT
HAHA PEOPLE WERE KINDA HATING US HAHAH (:
BUT THE MOVIE WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
THE KISSING SCENE WAS HOTTTT .
DID YOU SEE EDWAARDD HE SO HOTTTTTT
I WILL WATCH THE MOVIE 20 MORE TIMES HAHA (:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WHOLE DAMN MOVIE !!! (:
but i do agree the movie was too fast paced
but i love ittttt LET’S WATCH MORE THEN ONCE HAHA (:
December 10, 2008 at 8:16 pm
hello! been lurking ard twilight singapore site since i discovered the series and the existence of said site around three months back! great job guys and keep up the good work!
i was fortunate enuff to catch the premiere yesterday and i must say the pacing at the front of the show was really too fast for me… ahha in the book it took AGES before the action began and it was totally the reverse in the movie i feel… and the script/editing was a bit awkward at certain parts… so yes was a bit disappointed at that…
but nonetheless the movie had everything that it should have and the latter part of the movie didn’t fail to disappoint! i totally dig the vampire baseball – hands down one of the best scenes in the movie… and charlie and the gun!! LOL hilarious! i also appreciated the reference back to the old skool vampire shows (the part where bella finally discovers who edward is)… robert pattinson IS edward period.
anyway i’ve written my thoughts on my blog post (i don’t want to be going on and on here!) http://blog.studio-yng.com/2008/12/10/twilight-movie/
will definitely catch the movie again when it official releases in singapore… once again great job guys! i know how hard it can be to keep up with all the updates so thanks for that! =D
December 10, 2008 at 8:53 pm
I sm going to watch this movie again and again and again! And again! on the big screen cos its the only way to do it! And I am sooo glad I get to see it till february!!
but the scenes of the ‘dating’ on the tree was OHHH! Beautiful! I HEART SPRUCE!! I made a tshirt with that scene already! I can just guess the exhilaration of being up there ‘high’ in every sense of the word. Did you guys know Robert and Kristen ad-lib those lines on the trees?!
I love the movie aesthetically especially the trees/forests and Robert! hehe And I am partial to rainforests coz of where I come from and I’ve only climbed guava trees and inverted pyramids
The character development left me a teeny bit dissapointed. It was hurried and could have been done better even with limited time. Some of the scenes ended abruptly and I wanna hear what a non Twilight reader thought about that. Did they get the depth of Edward’s difficulty and pain he has to go through everytime he is around Bella.
But the scenes with the Bella and Edward were electric! I love love love love every bit of the confession in the forest with the ominous fog all around.. (But the memory of Jimmy Kimmel’s Spoof with Guillermo did distrupt my concentration a bit!! Bampire….Bampiiiirrrreee!!)
The music was great but too much of it was interloped to help play up the scenes where the acting could have carried it quite well. Catherine this not Lords of Dogtown!
I’m gonna watch the film again this weekend. Maybe I’ll see something I missed and may be able to say more. for now enuff to say that Catherine did a good job to start off the movie saga of Twilight. I dun mind a man directing this time. I wonder if SM would allow it though.
That’s it for now!
December 10, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Oh ya!! The guy next to me muttered his irritation when we kept on squealing. HAHA we knew the film was starting when Summit’s logo came on. We even squealled at that! And Edward’s entrance!!! Oh yes of course the first kiss too. It was perfecr to me. Puurfect…I love it!! We stayed until the credits rolled and the outtakes.
December 10, 2008 at 9:41 pm
HEY. Thanks so much for the tickets firstly, by the way!
Oh I think it’s fantastic. I guess it’s the euphoria of finally being able to watch the movie, so everything’s just very exciting, and I just kept squealing, I really never have thought I’d fall in love with another movie after Harry!
Originally, really, it was very disappointing, before the premiere, when I’ve watched the trailer, like the part where Edward brings Bella to the house, there was a 8 minute leak into the net, and I got to watch that, and it was a huge letdown, seeing how they added that scene and cut off so many parts!
But when I saw that movie, it just didn’t matter! I mean, I get to watch the damn movie! Every part just seemed so fantastic, I wasn’t disappointed, but just anticipated with every scene, I just want to watch it so badly! My favourite part was actually the baseball scene, that scene is just so cool, and the Cullens just shine out! Jasper looks hell hot from there, he looks terribly hot in fact, when he was swinging the bat, and when he hit the bat, OMG and Emmett! He is so cute! Alice was the one that was disappointing, she is like so indifferent, expressionless, couldn’t she have sparkled more excitement when she was throwing the ball? And she was supposed to be the bubbly one!
After the movie it’s when things slowly started to settle down, why wasn’t the movie sweeter?
Everything was rather rushed, and they really cut too much scenes, and too little talking, it would be very hard to understand for the normal people who’ve not read the book, but than again it would be very disappointing for the fans who’ve read the book, as they know what would happen, and they expect, and it just didn’t happen, hahah. It wasn’t sweet enough, really!
What’s with that ‘meadow’ scene, when Edward was shouting “as if you could outrun me” etc., it was abit surprising and scary, he just threw her on his back and ran! It’s abit too rushed, they could’ve done it abit more gently, and Bella could’ve said “but it doesn’t matter” earlier too, she seemed as though she was scared, when the real Bella isn’t!
I mean, Edward (Robert) was simply gorgeous, specially like at the parts with him in shades, putting his hands around Bella and smiling crookedly, it’s just so beautiful, so handsome! Aww, and when Bella was washing the car, and he came, GOD he is so handsome! And that kissing scene, the first one, her in her grey panty, it’s like lust. LOL And where he saved her from the alley, his eyes, so piercing.
It’s a fantabulous movie, really, yes it’s disappointing in a way, but I’ll learn from what Bessy has told me once and appreciate the movie as it is, even though I think they could have just pulled the movie a little longer and explained more, see Harry Potter, they could pull to near 3 hours, and at least people who don’t read the book understands.
Ah no matter what, I still love Twilight, the movie.
I was so happy throughout, and squealing, and shouting “quickly!” when they were about to kiss, and jumping up and down when Edward appeared after the pairs (Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, Jasper) went into the cafeteria, and swooning away with Jacob too (whom I had thought looked horrible with that long weave, but he’s actually still so hot and good looking!), and James, Victoria, who were gorgeously bad
I think there’s without a doubt all the characters fit, but I really hope to see more enthusiasm from Alice in the next movie, and Jacob to be hotter in his new hairstyle, and they had better do the berak up scene right and sad!
Thanks if you read till here ha! I LOVE TWILIGHTSINGAPORE YOU GUYS ROCK! ^-^
December 10, 2008 at 10:11 pm
LOL
he was awesomeeee
yay twilight!
there’s pros and cons to the movie, but overall i enjoyed it!
vampire baseball & edward cullen ftw
i’m definitely catching it a couple more times!
December 10, 2008 at 10:36 pm
okay i was planning to blog this, but since twilightsingapore opened up this discussion, what the heck.
i watched twilight twice already (once in malaysia; i couldnt wait!) – with both people who read and didn’t read the book. according to my friend who DIDN’T read, it was actually fine; she was able to catch up with the whole plot and everything. but she didn’t understand little things like why rosalie hated bella so much. i think this is because some of the key, very important explanation parts are rushed, like the (awesome) kitchen scene.
everyone of our group thought that the start was very choppy and like most of you said – moved very fast. it is expected that things from the book will be left out of the movie since they have to squeeze it into 2hours 2mins. but some parts are super redundant – like the tree-climbing thing. i think we had enough of the scenery already, thanks. they could’ve replaced this scene with much more important things such as the explanation of the title, Twilight. The saddest part of the day, the end. i bet people who didn’t read the book couldn’t get the link between the title and the story.
another major change from the books i was disappointed about – that bella didn’t cook at all! they kept eating at the diners. i think this was crucial since one of the reasons bella kept using about why she couldn’t leave charlie was bcos he’ll have nothing to eat!
and oh yes, me and all my friends – both read and didnt read the book – felt that something was MISSING at the end. those who read knew alice’s and carlisle’s story wasn’t told (yet). but the poor people who didn’t read didn’t know what was up. HAHA.
okay enough bad stuff. i think the casting was just brilliant – kudos to the casting crew. every one of them fitted in ALMOST perfectly – it was so believable. even i who is not a fan of rob grew to like him as edward. peter is PERFECT, the perfect compassionate dad vampire. elizabeth has the motherly vibes. nikki is GORGEOUS. kristen is awkward, clumsy and lovable. kellan is big and playful. jackson is cool (and always in pain, haha). ashley is so light and adorable. even billy is awesome and funny as chief and justin chon is unexpectedly HILARIOUS and random as eric!
THANK GOD FOR THE BASEBALL SCENE. it saved everything. ALL HALE JASPER
other awesome scenes were the kitchen scene, the cullens’ introduction, the james fight scene and basically all the scenes with most of the cullens in them. *thumbs up*
and i must say, though i love book-emmett way more than book-jasper, movie-jasper is just WOAH-AWESOME-HE’S-MINE great!
sorry, i guess i ranted on too much. hurhur.
December 10, 2008 at 11:48 pm
The scenes that I thought that was suppose to be serious but was soooo funny to me was when Carlisle was transforming Edward. LOL. Did you see he’s expression?? HILARIOUS.
The other scene when he was sucking out the venom from Bella’s blood and then he couldn’t stop himself as he kept on sucking… That one was PRICELESS.
ROFL…
Remember the part when Bella imagined Edward the first time as a vampire??!! OMEOMEOMEOME.
Edward is so much more good-looking with that hairstyle!!!
December 11, 2008 at 12:26 am
oh and i forgot to mention… jacob looks smoking hot while glaring at edward at the end (if you ignore the hair)!
love the tie and shirt. <3
December 11, 2008 at 1:01 am
eh? oh nos, my previous comment is not here! damn i typed out a long one, too.
December 11, 2008 at 1:02 am
it’s both a yay and nay?
the scenes looked fab!!the colours, the scenery, all looked perfect!and the best scene DEFINITELY has to be the baseball scene.freaking awesome!and carlisle’s HOT!LOL
hate the movie for the rushed feeling of it.the characters didn’t develop properly, sadly.edward’s personality even changed, somewhat in the movie.in the book,he keeps things to himself.in the movie,he was very open.=.= at LEAST get the personality RIGHT,people!and to cut out certain parts of the book that were kinda the pivotal point of their relationship..that’s just freaking sad. =( wonder if a non-Twilight fan would even get what it’s all about by watching this movie…
December 11, 2008 at 2:13 am
Hehehehe..i was there yesterday people! Center seat,BABY!
gawd i LOVE the part where they focus on Edwards Glorious face…Its like…i could almost touch him….aaaaaaaaaahhhh…..(in trance)
Anywho!…I have to say i love the intro,Bella’s cactus..(awwwww!),jacob n billy,Charlie,Renee, etc..yada yada..
But i was confused when Angela has a thing for Eric. And i mean i was CONfused when she was talking about Eric not asking her out! I thought Angela was suppose to b this “reserved”/cool kind of gal?Among all others,i was kind of excited to see her.But then..oh well..what can we do.
A lot of people say that the scenes were too fast…But having my bladder about to burst after the first hour…i kind of feel the movie was too long. You see,i didnt want to miss anything, so i stay stiff on my seat.So Im actually torn between having actually enjoying the movie in its “slo-mo” and hating it becouse it was “really” going slo-mo…!
hehehehe..either way..i loved it.Maybe everyone should experience what i did..so it would make it seem forever rather than just a 2 hour movie.hehehe..But then again,Dont!I thought i was going to die.But Edward’s presence kind of took all the pain away for me…herherherherhehrheh
MAn o man…the Prom and bedroom scene..gosh i swear…the intense-ness of it, i thought i was gonna “go” there on the spot! but hey, hey ,hey Hold your donkeys..im a lady k…WAS in excruciating pain…but,.. im still a lady…C’mon!
Okay,i thought that there r going to be scenes of chasing in the airport cos.thats gonna be a plus,at least, but…waw…now when i recall everything,it IS moving too fast, eh ladies??
But ooh..i love hearing the sound when James broke Bella’s leg…that is a good example if you ever want to cut a torture-pages into short!(i still couldn’t understand why they have to cut the Blood Biology scene…dammit!) But James was goooood..He was really goooood….Now im excited to see Victoria…She’s beautiful!
Okay actually this is not what i wanted to say…its far more irritated kind of thought. But i do want to say this and i do mean it as much as what i said upstairs..I LOVE the movie.Surprisingly,,,it was not perfect like “you’re soo proud of it,that you want to own it” kind of perfect, but it was acceptable. It was endurable.I had worse before and this was not even touching water surface,if u knw wat i mean. And my associates who watched the movie far earlier than us had me warned not to get mua hopes up.And i believed them,cos..well..we have been thru togezzer with other book turn movie preferences…we’re like purists as my neighbour wud put it,But after watching it myself..it wasnt soo bad after all.The songs pop’ed out in all the right places..there were surprises but it was..okay!
And..i love it.Sincerely,i DO love it! I am soo gonna watch it again.in fact when the movie was over that night,i feel like shouting “Encore”!!!!!!!!!! or something like can we borrow your dvd?or watever u use to project into that big screen stuff,so we can watch it at home?????!!
but i would not know how that turned out coz i was “excited” to go to the lavatory.heh!
But im sooo gonna watch it over, and over, and over again…till im sick of it! yup…but i dont know if thats possible couse i love Edward so-so-so much!(dont we all?)…that i dont think i’ll be able to.hahaha
Anyways..thanx to twilightsingapore and Shaw for making it ALL happen…you have no idea how thankful i am..and the goodies were great. We have been spoilt! APPRECIATE IT!
KEep up the good work!
Hopefully when New Moon comes all theatre will be filled with True Twilighters..and not those “shh” people…cheh!
December 11, 2008 at 2:21 am
HA! i think i said okay trice!
uuu…my blabs are long…sorrry!
December 11, 2008 at 2:25 am
aww, i got the tickets from

envy all the people here…
hahahas, anw, looking at all these comments,
it will sure be a blast!
hahhas:]
December 11, 2008 at 11:01 am
I must say the flow at the beginning was just nice..though it became kinda rushed after the hotel room scene. Great atmosphere with the foggy forest and sweeping views of trees and highlands!! I thought the sparkling effect made Edward look like he was sweating, but nevertheless it had a sense of authenticity to it! The rest of the Cullens were so cool and sophiscated..love the casting
My boyfriend has never read the book but he gave the movie two thumbs up!! Lets continue to make this movie a success and number one at the box office~
Twilight rocks!!!
December 11, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Are you guys going to watch it on the 12th December?
:D
I’m going to watch it on that day to honour the original release date of the movie!
December 11, 2008 at 4:58 pm
lol i wish i could go watch it on the 12th but i’ll be in msia.. hahaha maybe i’ll catch it there!
yayness :d
and then i’ll watch it again on the 18th!! ehehe
December 11, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Just to let you know, i heard that M’sia censored the kissing scene. One of our fans actually cried when she saw that there was no kissing scene!
December 11, 2008 at 10:37 pm
Nasyita, actually on the contrary, I’d feel that those who haven’t read the book would understand and love the movie better because they aren’t anticipating all the scenes that we were waiting so anxiously to appear and were disappointed when things just sped by.
IZZATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHY WAS THIS POST SO LATE I WAS SO BUSY THAT I COULD ONLY COME TODAY!
Baseball + Supermassive Black Hole = MEGAWESOME.
Placement of songs were all well done. I think it’s the best job done throughout the whole movie, and I’m including the jobs of wardrobe, styling, etc.
I think the prom scene, yeah, maybe it’s a little touching. Edward is his self-hate and disgust and sadness that he’s ruined Bella’s life, and Bella for her disappointment that Edward refuses to change her. FBAM actually plays until we see Victoria observing them and she turns around, and I actually think the song also refers to her loss of James.
Kiss scene… le sigh.
But, let’s be honest – Robert Pattinson’s acting was mediocre. I’m opening this up to discussion. And just for reminders, that statement is coming from a rabid fan of his.
Also, I hated the following things:
- Bella didn’t cook anymore; instead, Charlie & her ate out
- She was shown to be clumsy only a few times. Hardly enough to establish her as endearingly careless
- TYLER KISSED HER AT THE BEGINNING? COME ON! Although it was funny,
- Edward always stammering and letting by little mistakes. He’s not supposed to make mistakes at all! He thinks at the speed of light!
- His “um”s and “uh”s are absolutely contrary to Bella’s claim that he speaks like he’s from a different time
- That Embry has no lines. At all. Except to laugh at Mike’s statement
- Jacob brushed off the Quileute legend as a story, but glared at Edward at the end. Change in character in just over a month or so?
- Alice isn’t exactly as cheerful, bouncy and enthusiastic as in the book
- Jasper’s ability was completely left out
- THE EFFECTS! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO HARP ON IT! *claws out hair*
But well, the movie could have been better, but it also could have been so much worse. I’m quite satisfied.
December 12, 2008 at 3:07 am
ROBERT PATTINSON’S ACTING IS AMAZING! HE IS SO TALENTED, PLEASE DO NOT SAY IT’S MEDIOCRE! DAMMIT, I’M SORRY IF I’M GETTING ALL WORKED UP, BUT HE’S REALLY TALENTED AND IT FRUSTRATES ME THAT SOME PEOPLE CAN SEE IT!!! HE’S THE PERFECT EDWARD, AND I LIKE HOW SLOWLY HE ENUNCIATES HIS WORDS. IT’S SOOOOO DAMN SEXY!!!
December 12, 2008 at 9:58 am
I think you need to actually slow down, undo the caps lock, ban your fingers from excess punctuation and rewatch the movie. He really did not do as well in bringing Edward Cullen to live as I would have expected. Don’t get me wrong – I am in love with the guy so much too, but really, when he tried to look fierce at those frat boys at Port Angeles, I felt a little awkward for him because it wasn’t working, on me, really.
That being said, of course he performed quite well, and better than I would ever get from other actors (psh, bias), and still impressive, but he needs more practise. I hope he gets better with more rehearsals and getting into character sessions. I’m sure he definitely can do it.
December 12, 2008 at 7:52 pm
Well said, Bessy!
December 12, 2008 at 8:29 pm
i never liked the idea of rob portraying edward. he DID grow on me, but i didn’t see the overflowing love for bella in those eyes.
December 12, 2008 at 11:45 pm
and YES BASEBALL + MUSE = WOAH. movie-jasper is bloody brilliant. ALL HALE JASPER
December 12, 2008 at 11:46 pm
YEAH MAN, THE WAY HE SWUNG THE BAT. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
December 13, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Hey I just realized I watched the film on 12/12/2008 after looking at my ticket stub! I watched it at the AMC theaters in The Block at Orange. They had over 30 auditoriums! Mine was #22. OOOOOOOOOHHHH MYYYYYYYYY GAWWWWDDDDDD!!! It was awesome watching it agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEEE IT!!
I was wishing for Robert over and over the whole day on and when I arrived at my room and turned on the TV somehow it was tuned in to the Tyra Banks Show and it was the pie eating contest!!! OHHH MYY GOD! I was like was wishing for him and saw him on TV instead! Talk about freaky! Anyways, just watched the movie just once yesterday(3.10pm show) cos it gets dark here early so need to get back early. Will hang out at the mall earlier tomorrow. YAHOOOO!!
HAHAHHAHAHA yes Bessy the instinct to use CAPS and stretching my words(as above) is totally uncontrollable.
I found a HOT TOPIC at the mall and they had Tshirts and some jewellery, buttons, patches and many stuff but its expensive. Better to order through the net cos there’s no sales tax.
December 13, 2008 at 7:00 pm
nay for the movie for me. i mean it didn’t do the book justice, it didn’t have presence or pizazz and the effects were not grand enough. =[ there were certain parts which were cool, like edward walking to school with bella in the shades, and the scene where he drove in to save her. but come on, after seeing movies like LOTR and harry potter, you’d expect a movie with such a cool theme like vamps to be choc-a-bloc of dazzling effects man.
when the cullens entered, it was like a normal bunch of pple entering in slow mo. i mean, MEAN girls had a cooler effect when the PLASTICS entered.
and they didn’t show how edward could read minds, tht would have been a really cool effect there! and the acting was very contrite and forced at times, which made their lines rather corny instead of meaningful-i was cringing. and OMG i was just so disappointed.
but honestly, the casting was good. though their makeup sucked! you could see the contacts, the excessive eyeliner, the too much powder. and jasper looked like he was in pain all the time, i dunno if tht was supposed to be tht way…
i srsly hope tht the next director would do better man. there’s nothing wrong with the story-just that the director srsly sucked.
~bring twilight back to life man.
December 13, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Actually yes, Jessica had introduced Jasper as “the blonde who’s in pain” or something like that.
December 13, 2008 at 7:56 pm
mmmm about the effects part, i’m thinking if they actually showed alice seeing the future, and edward reading minds, it’ll be very, very HEROES like. while i have no qualms about that, because the effects in heroes are way better, people might call the movie a copy-cat then… hmm.
December 13, 2008 at 10:22 pm
@Profit2829 where did you find a Hot Topic store? =D
December 13, 2008 at 10:36 pm
My 2 cents’ worth… but warning – long post ahead!!
………………
Ok, in all fairness, i think we have to remember the limited budget Catherine Hardwicke had to work with. US$37mil is like only a fraction of a normal, *proper* blockbuster movie budget. She did, in various interviews, comment that the budget had not allowed to do many things that she wanted to do better. Given that, i concede that she did a good job in delivering her best within the constraints.
Wrt Rob’s acting abilities, after watching countless interviews of Rob, i find that he has projected quite a part of himself into his portrayal of Edward. Although to human eyes, Edward is supposed to be fluid, graceful, fast, and overall a smooth operator, i think we all know that Rob saw Edward as a tortured soul, someone who has not had true, close contact with humans for a LONG LONG time. And this was highlighted in the book as well. Edward was very unsure of how he should go about being intimate with Bella, not only because of bloodlust, but because he just never did that before. So he felt really awkward in his close moments with her and i feel that Rob acted that out as how he would be, given that he can appear rather awkward at certain moments in real life too. It really is an extremely tough character to act as, as Edward in and of himself is a walking contradiction in all possible ways. So, i personally have to give kudos to Rob too for that, as it’d be too easy for any other actor to portray Edward as perfect on the outside and miss out on his inner complexities. And kudos to Rob’s amazingly chiselled jawline as well.
{Sorry, cant help it!}
Although the movie captured the heart of the story, i agree with those who commented that the romantic development between Edward and Bella was too abrupt. A lot of character development and some degree of story development was sacrificed to fit into the movie’s running time. I had to fill in the gaps for a friend who hasn’t read the book – anyone who hasnt just would not understand how they came to love each other so deeply, how unique each of the Cullens are, etc. I personally felt that the following scenes should have been included or looked deeper into for more meat:
1. The thoughts of Bella when she first met Edward and saw his pain and fury – i think they should have had her briefly narrate her confusion at his initial reaction to her;
2. The backstory on the Cullens as told to Bella by Edward when she visited their beautiful house (left out!);
3. Alice and Jasper’s abilities and their contribution to Bella’s safety at the hotel;
4. Bella’s curiosity on how one becomes a vampire (left out!);
5. Bella talking in her sleep (left out!).
Scenes i loved:
1. Bella’s research on the Cold Ones, though it might’ve been better if it’d happened a little earlier in the movie;
2. Edward’s sparkling and him demonstrating his strength and speed to Bella;
3. Edward’s devil-may-care smile when he openly walked with Bella in school;
4. Charlie and his shotgun when Bella was asking for permission to date Edward (LOL!);
4. The baseball scene (of course!);
5. The prom and how he lifted Bella to step on his feet to dance (awww shucks!)
All in all, although this movie does not make for Oscar-greatness, it is still entertaining and you have to admit that Rob Pattinson is swoon-worthy, even for older women
And i’ll definitely be watching it again! Whatever it is, it’s always good to keep an open mind and enjoy what you can
December 14, 2008 at 3:59 am
OH and one more thing – just to say that i think the soundtrack and score fit the movie extremely well. So another kudos to Catherine Hardwicke and co.
Let’s now look forward to New Moon!
December 14, 2008 at 4:23 am
Regina am in la for a couple of days and the Hot Topic is in The Block @Orange, a mall nearby. Just came back from the theater again (cab fare damn more expensive than cinema ticket but no choice cos can’t drive
) for #3. Today went for the 410pm show at AMC Aud#13.
Ohh! I love must say I love the green of the forest. Do you guys remember in the book where a huge cross hung in the Cullens’ house (courtesy of Carlisle’s father). Well it was in the movie!! It was flat against the wall but laid sideways and you can just see it as Edward & Bella go up the stairs after entering the house.
I am loving this film more and more and more! I don’t feel it going so fast anymore.Maybe I had too many things to organise during the premiere… I just love watching them especially Robert on the big screen. I dunno what I’ll do when it finish running in cinemas. Hmmm well enjoy it while I can!
And I think it’s the first time in a film that depicts a couple having a date on tree! Ever! I LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEE IT!!! hahaha Can’t you tell?
December 14, 2008 at 12:03 pm
@ Lisa: Ah, thanks for defending Rob very well! But to be honest, Rob and Edward really have nothing in common apart from their good looks and their old souls (yes, Rob really has an old soul himself too).
I personally felt that the following scenes should have been included or looked deeper into for more meat:
1. The thoughts of Bella when she first met Edward and saw his pain and fury – i think they should have had her briefly narrate her confusion at his initial reaction to her;
2. The backstory on the Cullens as told to Bella by Edward when she visited their beautiful house (left out!);
3. Alice and Jasper’s abilities and their contribution to Bella’s safety at the hotel;
I agree with these. For 1, if it had happened, it would have been clearer as to why Bella was so agitated and puzzled. 2 would be nice too. I don’t think it would actually take up a lot of time. 30 seconds of brief explanation by Edward. As for 3, yes, that would have been perfect, but I think it boils down to Alice seeing the ballet studio.
In the final screenplay, when Alice was with Bella at the ballet studio itself, Alice’s lines included a prediction of hers saying, “It’s going to happen!” with regards to Bella being changed into a vampire, probably before Edward decided to save her. They took out that line, so it was a bit sudden when Bella suddenly said, “Alice said she saw me like you.” at the prom scene, it was surprising.
I totally agree with you – the soundtrack and score is smashing good!
December 14, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Haha, thanx for the vote Bessy! Though I can’t comment on the simiarities (or differences) between Edward and Rob himself as Rob to me is really just a celebrity i read about and watch on screen. While watching the movie, i saw some parallels between my personal impressions of both Rob (from reading articles and watching video interviews) and Edward as a character. I see Edward as someone who, though gorgeous on the surface, is not fully aware of exactly how magnetic he is to others and feels uncomfortable and awkward with what he does know about it. And Rob, to me, demonstrates that same awkwardness in response to all the hype about his new heartthrob status. I saw that similarity when i was watching the movie and i really appreciated that Rob portrayed Edward as that bit flawed and so, added some dimension to him on screen. (Alamak, sorry for another long story!) But keep your comments coming, its interesting to read about all the different perspectives and opens up our eyes more to varied angles of the movie and the book too
As for 3, yes, that would have been perfect, but I think it boils down to Alice seeing the ballet studio.
i really love Alice and Jasper’s characters, and it was this scene in the book that first drew me to them.
-> Okay lah, i admit, that’s me being greedy!
Any of you planning to watch (or have already watched) the movie more than once? Although i personally still prefer the book, i’ll definitely be watching it a 2nd time! Alrite, i’m going back to listening the score yet again…
PS: Did anyone notice that there was a song during the credits which was not featured in the soundtrack (think it might’ve been the first song played when the credits rolled)? I was lucky enough to come across it mentioned in iTunes that the song is called “15 Step” by Radiohead. Very nice!
December 15, 2008 at 12:49 am
Profit2829, i’m definitely looking out for the cross in the Cullen house when i watch it the second time! I was hoping to see it (really enjoyed the irony of it in the book, as Edward said to Bella), but i must’ve missed it somehow. Thanx for pointing that out!
December 15, 2008 at 12:56 am
Me and my friend[who i have influenced her to love the book] had watched the premier of the movie.
And we started to realize how many scenes were missing. I was alright with it, though i thought they could’ve done better.
Things me and my friend realized that are missing. Edward’s sofa [or somewhat like that] is supposed to be black in color. Also, the carpet should’ve been golden. Another thing: The piano should’ve been white instead of black.
JACOB WAS SUPPOSED TO DANCE WITH BELLA!
I also didn’t like the fact that the make-up wasn’t done really well. Did anyone notice how Edward’s face was so white? But his ears are of normal color? His neck has a little bit of white [which looks really weird on him]
They also missed out the part in Biology during a blood thingy.
Sigh… Why do they have to change alot of scenes in the movie? Also, why cut so many of the great scenes?
Scenes i like:
-BASEBALL SCENE; i can watch it a million times and never get bored.
- Fighting scene; I love it. My friend cried watching him trying to save Bella.
- Charlie being really funny;
“Bella: Try and be nice
Charlie: -draws a halo above his head-”
-Bella imagining Edward to be a vampire [before she knew the truth] Edward was smoking hot!
Don’t get me wrong. I love the movie, and i don’t mind watching it a million times.
I’m just disappointed at how it turned out [after the long wait and excitement]
With this, I end my note saying “CARLISLE IS HOT!!!!”
December 15, 2008 at 2:52 am
It’s really difficult to do make-up on the ears. It’ll probably itch and all. Also, it takes a lot of time to powder up the face till it’s so pale. Imagine if they had to do it for the neck and hands as well – too much time!
To begin with, the filming schedule is too short. Also, Kristen was still schooling at the beginning of filming. She is actually wearing a wig for almost the whole show. See, the hair band she puts on has a wig attached to it, so the front is really her hair and the back isn’t. They had to save time when filming, and all these details helped a lot.
For all you know, the original could have been worse and what we’re seeing from the vampires is already touched up on.
Yes, it was announced a long time ago that the blood typing scene would be extracted out. In a way, if you read through it once more, the scene doesn’t show much that is essential to the movie. It’s just a clue that Edward is a vampire, Bella can’t exactly stand blood and Edward can read Mike’s mind. They didn’t explicitly state that Bella is sick when she smells blood throughout the whole movie so I’m guessing they took that characteristic out of her.
Along with her ability to cook, the way her heartbeat speeds up whenever Edward touches her, how she talks in her sleep, etc. Taken out of our dear Bella, but to be truly honest, these things don’t affect the movie so I’m not very sour that they were written off. She’s still our Bella.
December 15, 2008 at 2:00 pm
OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! I came out of the theater JUMPING! Finally ive watch Twilight! And it was totally AWESOME! The guys were soooo HOT! haha! Argh! I want the DVD NOW!!
haha anyone has any clue when it’ll be out?
December 16, 2008 at 3:25 pm
@ Nicol: Let’s make Twilight #1!!
Anyway, Midnight Sun is not the next book but rather it is based on Edward’s POV of Twilight. Currently there are no news on when Stephenie will continue writing Midnight Sun.
December 16, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Yeah, actually Stephenie once said that when everything dies down and people actually forget the existence of Midnight Sun, she *might* continue writing it, but till then, she’s now actually taking a break and is working on some project, although I have no idea what, because she didn’t reveal.
I have watched it a grand total of 7 times so far (not specifying anything
), my 8th or 9th time will be in the cinema on Thursday I guess.
December 16, 2008 at 4:32 pm
Catherine said the DVD will be out maybe after Valentine’s Day (read: OUT HERE IN SINGAPORE IN MARCH).
December 16, 2008 at 4:33 pm

December 16, 2008 at 8:03 pm
LOL, MARIA YOU’RE MAD! XD
Nope, not fighting with you. I’m just hardcore.
COME ON, THE BASEBALL SCENE, THE “Could you act human? I mean I’ve got neighbours” SCENE AND THE PROM SCENE – THESE THREE ARE THE BEST!
Followed by the first day they go to school together, hmm, maybe Bella’s first day at school, then the whole Confessions scene, then Bella being introduced to his family, THEN THE BALLET STUDIO ETC.
Forget it, I’m just going to list out the whole movie anyway.

December 17, 2008 at 7:34 pm
My brother actually went to catch it with his girlfriend that day, just because it’s Twilight (:D), plus in his household there happens to be a 14-year-old girl constantly crazy over Rob and Twilight and stuff, and also because his girlfriend actually only had enough time to read through three chapters of the book or so, so they went to catch the movie, and when he came back, THE ATMOSPHERE WENT ON A 180-DEGREE TURNAROUND! He was totally telling *me* about the movie and which parts he liked, and I talked about some scenes that were bad and he brushed me off, saying it was good! That’s how awesome the movie is! And now, he likes it so much he says he will most likely read the book, and this is coming from the guy who has probably only read textbooks his whole entire life. I feel so… elated, touched, etc. I don’t have enough adjectives. And for the rest of the night, I rattled off random Twilight facts both from the book and the movie and he listened to me talk. Woot.
December 17, 2008 at 8:17 pm
That’s the way to go Bessy! My bro still doesn’t care! GAWD LOL
December 17, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Woah Bessy, that’s something great to hear!
I have guy friends who irritate the hell out of me..basically, they are anti-twilighters!
OH GOD, I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES AFTER READING THE BOOK AND WATCHING THE FILM.
NO WORRIES, I ALREADY INCLUDED THEM IN THE ‘FAIL’ LIST!
December 17, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Anyone of you heard the rumour that Taylor Lautner might be replaced by Michael Copon? Too bad really.. because i thought Taylor fits as Jacob.. And what a waste.. Jacob!Taylor has already fan base, lots of them, and from what I could gather, they were really upset about this new rumor.
December 17, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Hi Jade and everyone,
Coincidentally, i was jus watching E! News and they stated the rumour on Michale Copon as false so far, and its not official that Taylor is being dropped. Also, i came across an online news blurb on yahoo.com that Summit is aiming for New Moon to be released (in the US, at least) exactly 1 year after Twilight, i.e., sometime in Nov 2009. Cool!
December 18, 2008 at 12:41 am
New Moon will be out on 20th November 2009!
December 18, 2008 at 7:58 am
Twilight rox!!!i only bought the Eclipse and breaking dawn but not the new moon and Twilight i heard that Jacob Black is a werewolf right?
December 18, 2008 at 11:44 am
I watch twilight 3 times i crazy bout it…..
December 18, 2008 at 11:46 am
I watched it on 09dec during the special sneak preview and again on 16dec for the First Mag Movie Preview.
WoW!!! I love it!! though there are some scenes that I would prefer if it stick to the book, overall, I still find it good!! its funny too… Carlisle was Gorgeous!!! I love Edward’s smiles and I like the scene where he fetch Bella to school with he sunglasses… I like the Baseball scenes too, Jasper was especially cool and Alice so graceful with the throw. I find Emmett cute too, this actor suits the role… James is very good-looking too… All in all, the men are all heavenly handsome!!! Drools…
I just saw news that Tyler Lautner may not be playing in New Moon… I’m glad that Kristen/Rob/Peter are still in the sequeuls…
December 18, 2008 at 11:50 am
@ Amelia: 8 TIMES! WOOT!
YES, MY BROTHER IS AWESOME HAHAHA. NASYITA, ASK YOUR BROTHER TO GO WATCH WITH YOU!
December 18, 2008 at 12:53 pm
I personally felt his performance in Twilight was really good. Not as good as that in The Haunted Airman, but good enough. People who say he was wooden in Twilight don’t understand that that’s how Edward is supposed to be. He is supposed to undergo inner turmoil, not externalise it!
The prom scene was AMAZING. It was magical. The background music, the twinkling lights, ROB IN A TUX, the way he said, “Is it not enough, just to have a long and happy life with me?” (like he was gna cry). It was beautiful. I just… I can’t get over that last scene. I totally cried.
RPattz forever!!! <£
Peace, love and Twilight.
December 18, 2008 at 5:26 pm
OME!!!!! Twilight ROCKS!!!!
But it would have been better if there was slightly more action. Perhaps a few seconds on James
being tore up? That would be nicer. Overall, I love the movie. I love it when Edward and Bella were at the greenhouse talking. Twilight just rocks big time!!!!! Emotions captured, scenes with enough emphasis on the story, lines nearly the same as the book!!!!! Can’t wait for new moon!!!! I love the scene where Edward reveals his shimmering body in the sunlight for the first time. The meadow scene was one of the best too. So is the baseball scene. My fave is the prom and the one at the ballet studio!!!!!Bella’s pain at the ballet studio was the best emotion captured!!!
December 18, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I hated the movie.
Don’t get wrong. I’m a huge fan of the Twilight series.
The movie doesn’t do justice to the book.
I stopped all Twilight-ing since the movie came out in the US, Twilight-ing a little now and then to satisfy my cravings and kept myself from reading reviews, youtube comments, livejournal websites, stopped talking to anyone who’s watched Twilight in case that person spill the beans on me.
So I went to the movies, REALLY EXCITED. With Joyce and Evelyn and KJ. Especially me and Joyce. We were literally holding hands before the movie started just to brace ourselves.
Joyce and I were muting our squeals and “Ahhhhhs” when we were at the deer-hunting scene.
I think Bella’s Mom wasn’t as erratic or as forgetful as I thought, or as compared to the Renee in my mind.
The biology scene was funny. How Edward tensed up and it looked like Bella smelt like shit with some bad stuff combined. I think Robert Pattinson’s acting was very un-Edward. I don’t think he’s that graceful and that captivating. Not insanely gorgeous. The vampires look like they have flour on their face. Patchy and fake.
The only scene I liked is probably the baseball scene. I like Nikki Reed’s acting also. She really must have hated Bella! Hahaha. It looks like she really does hate Bella.
Oh yeah, and since when does Bella have a phone? I thought she only had one in Breaking Dawn or Eclipse when Edward handed her one? And she’s suppose to leave her jacket in Jessica’s car. And Joyce pointed out that the talk about her parents was suppose to be in Edward’s silver Volvo.
The hotel scene was also wrong. IIRC, Bella was suppose to make a run only when she’s at the airport.
All in all, I don’t think it’s a good movie. It looks very budget. The video editing sucks. It looks very abrupt at certain parts. The songs don’t fit the parts as well. Alice barely spoke. Jasper didn’t speak.
I’m so glad Catherine Hardwick is off the Twilight ship. I’m so totally hoping that the Golden Compass director will do a better rendition of New Moon. With the focus on Taylor Lautner.
Best Thing: Baseball Scene. That’s the only scene that is really the book. Jessica, Eric, the Kitchen Scene, Rosalie.
Worst Thing: The progression of the film. It was very unproportionate. The introduction was unbearably LONG. It looks very budget.
Most fans are saying that it’s a good film. I don’t think it is. They seem to be giving the fans what they want instead of showing what the book really is.
December 18, 2008 at 6:31 pm
Sorry! Forgot to bleep out the personal parts with my friend s names. :S
December 18, 2008 at 6:32 pm
I think the movie extremely fascinating. It left me stunned.
If its compared to the book, it obviously can’t be compared because all of the exciting parts and crucial parts were not filmed or they were cut.
But personally, i think if its not compared to the book it’ll be great!
I watched it thrice already and i plan to watch it again.
Some of robert pattinson’s facial expression are wickedly funny.
Jessica’s supposed to act all bitchy and such, but in face she acted all goody two shoes.
When the Cullens entered the cafeteria, it was gorgeous. Rosalie was so pretty and Jasper’s face looks constipated.
Edward eyebrows were thick.
The way how Edward reacted to the scent of bella when she entered the biology room, was funny.
He act like she stinked and stuff.
*I’m not sure if anyone noticed this, but during the fight scene, carlisle was exposed to part sunlight and he didn’t dazzle at all. HAHA.
I’m postively sure that i’ll catch twilight, again. And i’ll get the DVD.
December 18, 2008 at 9:25 pm
@ Raven: the way he said, “Is it not enough, just to have a long and happy life with me?” (like he was gna cry). It was beautiful. I just… I can’t get over that last scene. I totally cried. HI-FIVE, BUDDY.
@ DahliaMorie: Okay, firstly, I liked that you wrote out a lengthy description criticizing the movie and it was reasonable, but I need you to know that movie adaptations /= book. I hate comparing Twilight to Harry Potter, but adaptation wise, I just need to say this: If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you will know how annoying it is when the movie never keeps in key plots, and they’re not even like characters that can be easily kicked off the screen.
Therefore, when you were referring to the existence of Bella’s cellphone, I think a cellphone was good in the sense that it helped to shorten the movie. The cellphone doesn’t actually disrupt the main storyline in any horrifying way, and do you think it would actually be more interesting to have a camera shoot from behind Bella’s shoulder, showing her type out her emails to Renee?
And if you’d rather Bella not have a cellphone, I think you should have pointed out the mistake Melissa Rosenberg made by giving Bella a Macbook instead of a cheap desktop that takes 20 minutes to start up.
Renee doesn’t have much time in the book, and I think they managed to comply well with that. Which part of Renee forgetting where her pink shirt was is actually essential to the plot? They have to omit small details and things like that when converting it onto the big screen, so I think when Renee said, “I didn’t lose my power cord. It ran away. Screaming. I literally repel technology.”, it’s good enough to represent Renee’s personality.
or as compared to the Renee in my mind.
See, that is where, I must point out, you’ve gone wrong. You should have stepped into the theatre with an open mind, not expecting anything but a movie that is being served to you after almost a year of hard work. Condensing 500 pages into a 2-hour movie is not easy, so you should have waited to see what the crew and cast could give you, and judge from there, instead of immediately concluding with your own imagination as a base.
Now, I think I need to repeat this once more: Robert Pattinson played Edward as a depressive and self-hating guy instead of one that is so perfect. To be fair, I must say that that doesn’t do justice to Edward since, being a vampire, he is perfect and doesn’t let slip small mistakes even if he doesn’t want to.
But since Rob played Edward that way, then let’s overlook that for the moment. I agree with you that his portrayal of Edward in the first Biology class was sub-par. On the other hand, I have no idea if Rob was actually wanting to purposely look like he was going to vomit just to cover, or if he thought acting that way would be better.
Rob is an actor, and his job is actually to interpret the character. Since everyone’s perception of Edward is different, his performance definitely can’t please on the whole, but you need to give him a little credit for, if you’d already read Midnight Sun, I think Rob stayed close enough to the way Edward thought.
With regards to the styling, I’d already mentioned in an earlier post:
“It’s really difficult to do make-up on the ears.
They had to save time when filming, and all these details helped a lot.”
Basically, I’m just trying to say that, I personally feel the make-up people have done their best already. I do agree though, that the make-up is probably one of the worst aspects of the movie.
As for the hotel scene, like I’d said already, they had to strike those out. If they went on to talk about the airport, the movie might have dragged for another good half an hour, and they can’t exactly afford that.
Speaking of which, I’d like to go on to my next factor: Low budget. The movie is low budget to begin with. $37 million may sound like a lot, but it’s not. For example, The Devil Wears Prada was made on a similar budget, and that movie requires no special effects. Similarly, on a book-to-movie basis, How To Lose Friends & Alienate People used a budget about $10 million lesser and required no special effects too, and the movie just bombed. Not because of the budget, though, but because it wasn’t good.
You have to be fair though. Jasper had lines. They must have had their reasons for cutting out on such stuff. In the screenplay, Jasper had much lesser stuff to say. I admit, I think there wasn’t enough focus on any other the Cullens other than Carlisle and Edward in the first place – even Emmett’s scenes have been snipped off.
Truth be told, are you exactly sure all of the songs do not fit with the movie? If so, then I’d like to inquire, what songs do you think fit with the scenes. The only problem that I had with the music in the movie was the first Biology scene, where the instrumental music became more of jazz, and that’s just weird.
You also said that the baseball scene is the only scene that is true to the book. If you wanted real specifics, then I must say that the baseball scene wasn’t even straight out taken from the novel. But if you feel that the baseball scene is correct, then I must say that the second Biology scene was correct too, apart from the beginning where it started with Eric trying to ask Bella out but got cut off by Mike.
They seem to be giving the fans what they want instead of showing what the book really is.
If you feel that the essence of the book has not been implied well enough in the movie, then I’m just curious to know which scenes you would use to convert into the movie such that it will satisfy you.

in my opinions,
of course the books would be much better than the movie itself..
the movie was definitely tooo short for a 400&counting pages book
it couldnt install everything inside this 2hour film
i think the relationships between Edward and Bella was toooooooo fast !
they seem to be together in such a short time and it didnt felt really good
they missed parts and changed alot , however it’s understandable as its a budget film
so oh well , you cant really blame the director or the company..
the movie was really not bad, almost perfect
i mean you can feel what you cant really feel in the books
like the romantic scenes and the baseball scenes like everyone said !
it’s simply epic ! its like my favourite scene of the movie hahah, with the Muse song it totally pumped my heart !
plus the cast was more than perfect ! <3 alice is hotter than i expected.
i hope NewMoon is going to be better though and i wouldnt want the cast to be changed, not even Jacobs character,i think Taylor is the perfect dude for a native shapeshifter.
finally…
if you’re a true fan , i’d ask you to enjoy the film instead like i do !
i’m gonna watch it again tomorrow !
Twilight ftw! <3

@ Zaet: COME TO THE MOVIE OUTING! And it sounds weird that “Alice” and “hot” are together in the same sentence.
December 19, 2008 at 12:50 am
Here’s what I thought:
The movie looks very obviously budgeted. The effects were lousy (if there were even any), the editing wasn’t done well, and the movie as a whole seemed really rushed.
Too bad they only had 30+ million to work with. ):
R. Pattinson as Edward. He tried. How do you portray perfection anyway? I think he did well in showing his agony in trying to restrain himself. He pulled off “charming”. But I hardly saw his desperation and irrevocable love for Bella. It came of as creepy, somehow.
Kristen’s acting was as good as the script allowed it to be. I felt that alot of Bella was left out. We didn’t get to see much clumsiness, or how she took care of Charlie, or her fear in the hotel.
The Cullen clan looked BEAUTIFUL. I especially liked Alice and Jasper, I thought the casting for these two hit the nail right on the head. Alice could have been more excited about Bella though. IMO the Cullens did not have enough screen time for their characters to really show. And because of this, the script had holes in it. It would have been awesome if someone had summarize the Cullen story to Bella, just so that the (non twilight reading) audience get a glimpse of why this family is so special. The various special powers of the vampires also could have been demonstrated more. With Alice and Jasper, in the hotel room, the movie should have showed what struggles it took them to protect Bella.
Of course, the baseball scene was fantastic. Especially when the Cullens defend Bella. I also loved all the trees they were climbing/sitting in.
tl;dr
More or less following key plots. Not amazing but I’d watch it many more times.
Ps. The more you watch it, the less rushed it feels, especially with the summarized “a-question-a-day” part.
Pps.Not enough Jasper! He’s gorgeous, and good with his hands. Yum.
Well, Enjoy!
December 19, 2008 at 4:59 am
I watched it yesterday. looking forward to the movie outing.
I thought it was really good overall. The sound effect that comes with the sparkling made me laugh. The Cullens should have more screen time though.
December 19, 2008 at 9:20 am
well, to me… I guess you can’t always compare the detailed story in the book to the movie…and i guess they have to add abit here & there to make it more interesting and faster moving… if they were to write the whole story.. then the movie would be few hours… they try to keep it as close to the book as possible.. of cos, i would love to see some details on the their progressing love and the parts where Edward watch Bella sleep…etc… just like HarryPotter, book is definitely far far much better.. movie too little details… i guess you’ll just to have watch it with an open mind, and don’t keep comparing with the book.. The movie is good enough for the “newbies” who acted.. all acted quite well.. Even my boyfriend who didn’t even read the book thought the movie was not bad…
The scene where Edward pinch his nose when he smell Bella, I thought it was good, as in it adds humour to the story… Honestly, it is very difficult to play Edward, and you can’t find any “Perfect person” in the world.. so I’ll give credit to Rob…
Overall, I still love the Movie.. and can’t wait for New Moon…
December 19, 2008 at 9:23 am
I watched #4 yesterday and first time without the HOOOOTT kissing scene (in malaysia now).
Woohooooo I have Twilight ticket stubs from 3 countries already! Singapore, USA and Malaysia! I am gonna put it all in my scrapbook!
When Edward made his entrance I was the only one that screamed WOOOHOOOOOOO EDWARD!! My mom (she’s watched it twice already) and my two sis just cringe in their seats (yes April too!)
But luckily the Malaysian censors had the decency of not cutting out the ‘sweet sweet sweet kiss’ during the prom -in the beautiful gazebo scene. I love how Edward said, “is it not enough to have a long happy life with me (something like that)”. Awwwwwwww they way he looked, begging her not to be vampire.
And Bella crying, (I love how Kristen portrayed this!!) looking at the love of her existence – begging him not to let her grow old and which would result in her losing him. That was essentially Bella.
Bessy! I love your postings and I love this thread! Soo many valid opinions! I only had time today to read thru this discussion because I am on christmas holiday!! Will post mine momentarily.
My goodness I don’t think I can catch up with the other staff members…whenever I am smsing or calling them they are ALL at some point in the cinema watching the movie, going into the cinema and just came out of the cinema everyday! AIYAAHHH how to catch up like that!!
December 19, 2008 at 10:00 am
My 7 year old son is my best companion to yak about Twilight! =D
His favorite verse: My Monkey Man
His favorite character: Edward
His favorite song: Supermassive Black Hole
heheee…..He’s definately got my genes! =D
December 19, 2008 at 10:33 am
@Bessy
Isn’t it a bit too late now? Besides i’m alone,it doesn’t feel so good.
Yeah i kinda like Alice now , she’s indeed hot in the movie hahahahah
December 19, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Watched it on the 11th at Lido 1 and everyone in the cinema was going WE LOVE TWILIGHT WE LOVE EDWARD! It was so funny.
I definitely thought some effects were off, ESPECIALLY the part where Edward’s SUPPOSED to sparkle.
AND LOL when Edward picks up the apple you can see pit stains even though they can’t sweat (i think).
@Zaet: Come for the movie! I just emailed them and they said I can still go. And I’m going alone too ><
December 19, 2008 at 12:54 pm
My bf can’t believe how his 30 years old gf can be so obsessed over this Twilight series.
I only started reading the books during the last week of november and only managed to finish the whole series within the next two weeks and after that I was so psyched and excited to wait for the release of the movie in singapore.
I managed to catch the movie last friday (12/12) and I must admit I came out disappointed. I guess I went into the movie with very high expectations and was also quite distracted with the excitement of the crowd (the girl sitting next to me kept telling her bf what’s happening and who are the characters that are appearing in the show). To make matters worse, my bf started fidgeting in his seat (cos he’s bored).
Over the week, I decided to give Twilight another chance and this time I went to watch the movie alone. This time it wasn’t that bad and with my lowered expectations, I enjoyed the movie. So much so that I went to watch a THRID time! I surprise even myself.
Though I must say that watching the Digital version makes ALOT of difference. The colour is richer and also the editing is better.
Below are some of my thoughts on the movie:
I felt that the cast was well chosen, except for Nikki Reed as Rosalie. Not saying that she is a bad actress, she did portrayed her role well, especially her hatred for Bella. But I just feel that she is not as beautiful as how she was described in the book.
Ashley Greene was the right person to be cast for Alice. She is exactly how the book described her to be. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson were good choices as well.
I know it is not easy trying to squeeze a 400 over pages book into a 2 hours movie. They could have added in another 30mins so that the storyline for the movie doesn’t move at such a fast pace. I felt that not enough time was put into developing Edward’s and Bella’s love for one another. The next moment, they are already declaring that they can’t be apart from one another!
The cast of the Cullen family was also not fully “utilised”. For someone who didn’t read the book, they would think that the rest of the Cullen family members were just “extras” in the movie.
I felt that there are certain scenes whereby the make-up was abit overdone. They kinda went overboard with the white powder! My most memorable one was of Dr. Cullen when he first made his appearance at the Emergency Room. Some scene of Edward was also kinda scary…and not forgetting his very red lips! (was that really necessary?!)
The shooting of certain scenes really made Edward looked “ugly”. It may be the angle or the emotions that he was trying to portray. It looked awkward and fake. I enjoyed the scenes whereby he looked natural (e.g When he came out of the car wearing his sunglasses, When he invited Bella to his house, Prom scene)
I hope that with a new Director on board for New Moon, he would make the sequel even better than Twilight.
However, I think I would be less excited about New Moon as the majority of the movie would be about the development of the friendship between Bella and Jacob. Less Edward & Bella scenes! hahaha…..
Btw, can anyone help with what is the song being played while Edward and Bella was dancing at the gazebo? The last scene at the Prom?
And if anyone has any lobang on how to get the sheet music for Bella’s Lullaby would be great as well!
December 19, 2008 at 1:30 pm
@ Owlet:
http://www.getalyric.com/listen/7a21-dTff6Q/twilight_official_bella_s_lullaby_sheet_music_carter_burwell_for_piano
scroll down a tiny bit and you shd see 2 links. I hope it’s the right one. O__O Not really sure if it’ the original. doesn’t sound exactly the same but I hope it helps
December 19, 2008 at 2:11 pm
@Tasha
wow you’re going alone ?
going with a group of strangers with no friends is kinda weird
and it’s different cause i’m not a girl
*laughs*
December 19, 2008 at 2:37 pm
@Tasha,
Thanks for the link! Shall look at it when I get home later. Can’t view videos online in office.
Btw, do you know what is the song that both Edward and Bella was slow dancing to at the end of the movie???
December 19, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Twilight was an awesome movie!! i just love it.. i want to watch it over and over again in the cinemas.. Twilight all e way!! whooo.. Twilight rox! i love Twilight!
December 19, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Owlet that song is Bessy’s favourite! Actually ALL THE SONGS in the soundtrack is our favourite. We know the sequence and all!
When Edward and Bella were dancing on the gazebo the song playing is “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by Iron & Wine. All of us know the songs in that CD by heart and we played it over and over and ove during Twilight Soiree!
BUY THE CD okay!!
This song was apparently chosen by Kristen herself.
December 19, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Oh I forgot to tell you guys this. My other sis who watched the film 5 times already….3 times in dubai (united arab emirates) and twice in Malaysia.
Even in Dubai they are more liberal than Malaysia. They didn’t cut a thing! My sis said that during the ‘HOT’ kissing scene…everyone behind her were actually clapping!! HAHAHA Figure that!
December 19, 2008 at 4:33 pm
@ Mudclips: Alice could have been more excited about Bella though.
Can you say, great minds think alike?
@ Zaet: NO NO NO IT’S TOMORROW! SATURDAY! TOMORROW! COME PLEASE! The purpose of the movie outing is so all the Twilighters can mingle around and make friends. If you ever feel lonely, JUST COME AND FIND ME. I’LL BE VERY HIGH. DEFINITELY. I have a few alibis on my uncouth behaviour the day of the premiere. *nudges Aishah* OH YEAH WHERE IS AISHAH!!!?!?!?!??
@ owlet: …and not forgetting his very red lips! (was that really necessary?!) Like I said (ANYONE RECOGNIZED THAT? ROFL!), the make-up is one of the worst aspects. They made him wear lipstick. It’s ugly.
But, oh well, I’ll take Edward for what he is, even though being pale actually means pale lips too!
Ditto.
YES, MARIA IS RIGHT, THE SONG IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES! “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” is srsly one of the best songs used for the movie, apart from “15 Steps” by Radiohead ome RADIOHEAD I LUV YOU LOTS. It’s on the soundtrack. Get it from HMV! Yeah, it was recommended by Kristen herself.
Apparently what’d happened was that Kristen, Rob and Catherine were doing rehearsals for the prom scene, and Catherine played out list after list of songs that they should dance to, and Kristen was just like, “I’m not feeling it.” So she let Catherine listen to “FB, AM” on her iPod. Catherine thought it was good, and played it out loud in the room they were rehearsing. They all liked the song! Haha.
So after that, I guess they talked to Iron & Wine and that’s why it’s now both in the movie and on the soundtrack.
MY NEXT LOVE IS “NEVER THINK”! Rob’s voice is… dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyum.
@ Maria: Oh I’m so going to learn and clap when they kiss during the Movie Outing. Guys, if you hear anyone clapping, I think it’s most probably me okay. I think all of you should have seen the movie already, right? SO I SHALL NOT BOTHER AND JUST CHEER. I’ll probably scream like mad again when Edward appears. Le sigh.
December 19, 2008 at 5:47 pm
@ Zaet: Oh, by the way, I am learning to play Bella’s Lullaby on the piano too. I recently gained ownership of an electric piano, but it’s one f—ing octave lower than needed, so I’m practising on the piano in school whenever I get a chance to. I don’t have any musical background, so I memorize the keys instead of reading notes. You can definitely find tutorials and stuff on YouTube.
December 19, 2008 at 5:50 pm
@ Zaet: HAHAHA! Nah I don’t mind going alone. We can all make friends
So you goin?
December 19, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Okay…
i’ll try and see whether it’s too late.
cause it’s like 9 now
and i just watched it before i came back..
gonna say sorry to the mods
cause other than my first post ,
other posts dont seem to be linked with the discussion of the move
so hope it doesnt matter
December 19, 2008 at 9:07 pm
@ Bessy :LOL.Never Think is seriously my fav song off the album. He reminds me a tiny bit of Damien Rice.
But MUSE are just TITANS. They’re too awesome to be true.
December 19, 2008 at 10:38 pm
@ Tasha: SHIT, NO MUSE IS LIKE… THE ADONIS OF MUSIC. And Radiohead is Zeus then, obviously! Wait. Do Adonis and Zeus even live in the same mythology? Whatever, it doesn’t matter.
[sidetrack]I wanted your blood. I’ve never wanted a human’s blood so much in my life.
I trust you.
…Don’t.[/sidetrack]
[sidetrack 2]Yes it does! He can get killed because of you![/sidetrack 2]
I don’t know if I got the quotes correctly or not but anyway, I luvvvv Never Think endlessly but Radiohead and Muse are just awesome too. I’m not such a huge fan of Paramore but I think ICM is actually better than Decode. Maybe because there’s a slightly depressive tinge in there.
I THINK YOU’RE AWESOME. LET’S CAMWHORE TOGETHER TOMORROW!
December 19, 2008 at 11:01 pm
Ahem… ladies. Lets refrain from certain language okay…
Thank you
December 19, 2008 at 11:09 pm
@ Profit: ACK. Did I say anything? O___O sorry if I did ><
@ Bessy: LOL. I don’t listen to Radiohead much D: I thought creep was a prettyyyyyy funny song. YES OMGGGGG MUSE BABY!
Haha sure. If you don’t mind me checking every single photo again going
ZOMFG I LOOK HORRIBLE DELETEEEEEEEEEEEE.
see you tmr
December 19, 2008 at 11:52 pm
ROFL, NO, MARIA WAS BEING ALL ESME ON ME. She was referring to me!
Creep is such a cool song. And Radiohead is more than just Creep, they have lots of awesome songs on their latest album. I think I saw you today, but I wasn’t sure if it was you. You didn’t ask to take a photo with me!
December 20, 2008 at 9:31 pm
nooo!! I didnt see you! I went alone. LOL.
What were you wearing? O_O
aw shucks. sorry ><
December 20, 2008 at 10:07 pm
I was at the counter, beside Aishah, going mad and singing, “How did we get heeeeeeeeeeeeere!”
OH, BY THE WAY TWILIGHTERS, I WANT TO ASK YOU SOMETHING: What is your favourite quote from the movie? Yes, you can only choose one quote. I know it’s tough, but you have to!
Try not to get influenced and write down the first quote that comes to mind and which you truly like.
Mine’s It doesn’t matter. It appears twice throughout the movie,
E: I’m designed to kill.
B: I don’t care.
E: I’ve killed people before.
B: It doesn’t matter.
B: But my dad’s still there!
E: It doesn’t matter!
B: Yes it does, he can get killed because of us! You have to take me back.
December 21, 2008 at 12:27 am
@ Bessy: Which counter O_O
Mine’s DEFINITELY this:
Edward: That’s what you dream about? Being a monster?
Isabella: I dream about being with you forever.
That was the best line in the entire movie, for me.
The music, mood, lighting and especially the way she said it was so believable and sincere, I almost cried O_O
December 21, 2008 at 3:23 pm
Where you’d collected the tickets from! Haha.
Well, I always cry at the prom scene. ._.
December 21, 2008 at 4:26 pm
OH. OH. Oh man. aww shucks. I was too shy lol. I was just sittin around and stuff. But i’m still not sure how you look like haha.
And Mike’s “sup Arizona? How you likin the rain girlll” line cracks me up EVERYTIME.
Me too! It was definitely my favourite scene. And now my play count for Flightless Bird, American mouth has reached it’s peak O_O
Except I’m just thinking….How can Victoria be at prom and Edward not realise? Did you see her when edward and bella entered the lodge? I saw her back twice.
December 21, 2008 at 4:39 pm
@ Tasha – “He reminds me a tiny bit of Damien Rice”
That’s what I thought too…when I saw a picture of Pattinson with a guitar…he reminded me of Damien Rice. I had not listen to any of his performances before, so when I first tuned in to Never Think, I kinda expected him to sound like Rice too…which is totally crazy I know…They are different…I just prefer Rice’s sound/music more…and yes I’m not digging Never Think like most Twilight fans. My fav on the soundtrack is Eyes on Fire. Just love it…pretty much on repeat mode.
December 21, 2008 at 7:52 pm
@ Tasha: Yeah, I figured out that Victoria can’t be there and go unnoticed. The same inconsistency happened when Edward was like, “My dad’s car is still there. What happened?” Well okay, never mind, that’s fine. But he still asked, “Carlisle, what’s going on?” Doesn’t that render his ability bad? Yet he could read every mind in the restaurant, and he heard it when James changed course. I’m like, DOH.
December 21, 2008 at 8:46 pm
@ readingtwilight: Haha, cool stuff
LOl I was on youtube listening to never think and this girl commented, saying: “thanks for posting the lyrics. I don’t speak MUMBLE.” LOL
I see. I really like Never think. But for me- FB,AM by Iron and Wine’s been on repeat since God alone knows. Lol. And I prefer ICM to Decode.
@ Bessy: YES, EXACTLY. I was like O_O Wondering why S.Meyer didn’t do anything about it. I really hope Melissa makes sure she didn’t cut out anything important. And I personally don’t think Victoria shouldn’t have been at the prom. She could’ve been filmed somewhere else. Maybe at the ballet studio or whatever, or NOT filmed at all. Because it gave a sense of anticipation (to me, at least) as though something BIG was gonna happen involving her in New Moon, when that actually happens in Eclipse. Even though she’s in NM.
Lol. I drabble alot O_O.
December 21, 2008 at 9:01 pm
unconditionally and irrevocably in love with it.
December 21, 2008 at 9:07 pm
“La Push Baby , It’s Laa~ Pushhhhhh~”
not really my favourite though , but i think it’s wicked.
December 21, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Ah, I haven’t been here in a while, not wanting all sorts of movie spoilerific stuff. And also being preoccupied at Westerblog. Don’t kill me, I think his works are better written than SM’s. Especially that cliched, fanfic-esque thing that was BD. But I digress.
Anyway, I went to catch the movie with 8 of my friends (NINE PEOPLE?! HOW AWESOME!) I was wearing my fanshirt and squeeling with my friends when the movie started.
The movie was a low budget production that lacked in many places, but I went in with a low expectation and ended up having a lot of fun. I won’t say it was the best movie ever, but it was one of the funnest movie experience I have ever recieved.
I was clutching hands with the girlfriend sitting next to me and just (almost) hyperventilating when the characters showed up. When Edward and Bella kissed. And at the meadow scene. And the spakling scene… You get my drift. I went pretty brain-missing, but it was just so bubbly-making!
I liked the fact that the script (not the scenes) follow the book closely. It provided more fun as my friends and I were reciting the lines back to the screen without missing a beat. (The one I loved most was when they included the line about the lion and the lamb… completely fawesome.) When the actors said something exactly I would comment with “That’s what he/she said!”
When Charlie first gave Bella the pepper spray, I thought he gave her a tazer gun. XD I was surprise she didn’t spray herself by accident. And when Rosalie crushed the salad bowl, that just redifined the term b*tchiness.
My funniest character moment would be with Jasper, “The Guy Who Looks Like He’s in Pain”. His ‘pained’ (READ: constipated) expression just cracks me up. Every. Single. Time.
I must say that i am now very proud of the music choice. At first I had my doubts about Supermassive Black Hole being worked into the movie, but now, whenever I hear the song, I will inevitably think of vampire baseball. Ah, and when the movie ended, my friend and I stayed back to sing along with Linkin Park and Paramore while the credits rolled.
Is lying the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off? No, way. Watching twilight with fellow fangirls is.
(Now I’m just looking to New Moon! Hooray cliff-diving and car chases in Italy and hoverboards! Wait, there isn’t any hoverboards? T.T I guess I’ll have to wait till 2011 for those then.)
December 21, 2008 at 9:19 pm
yeap , i realised that when emmett told edward “she’s not one of us!” , and it wasn’t in the movie .. i was totally pissed . and what about the LULLABY SCENE ?!?! and edward telling bells about the cullens’ history ? i was complaining to my mum about it , and this is like the first time ever that my mum has went to watch a movie with me without sleeping . and i loved the boat scene xD really good movie .
i love the prom scene , baseball scene and DEFINITELY the fight scene . with charlie being funny
. they made his character more lively , but it was like alice wasn’t given as many roles as she could to portray how hyper she was . nikki reed as rosalie was beautiful . she is definitely one of the most beautiful women on earth . she was given only a few scenes to be rosalie in the movie , but you really saw from how she pulled the role off that she is a really good actress .
after the movie , when i came out . i actually wanted to be named rosalie or bella . I just fell in love with the name Rosalie and I started researching about the meaning of Rosalie when I got back to the house & I actually like rosalie more than alice .. wow . I was mesmerizing about Edward , fantasizing about him when I came out of the theatre . I was so happy I finally watched . hehs , watching with my best friend tomorrow , who’s not really twilight crazy . she’s highschoolmusical3 crazy . i dun really care abt highschoolmusical3 and let’s not drift into hsm3 when we can stay here and think about darling twilight and eddie-boy xDD
December 21, 2008 at 10:45 pm
@ Tasha: I think SMeyer was overwhelmed by the ending so much she didn’t figure it out at first. She was saying the producers etc. screened the first cut to her and she had this notebook and pen ready, going to write down whatever unsatisfying aspects about the movie, but when the credits rolled she was so shocked her hands were still and she hadn’t written down anything. Ma-jor. Actually I didn’t figure out that inconsistency until the next time I watched the movie, because I think my brain was much clearer.
The first time, I just thought the ending was fabulous. It is fabulous, still, now, just that it’s not as wonderful as when I first saw it, because it rendered Edward’s ability weak.
Maybe they could have filmed it at the ballet studio! Exactly! But, according to the book it was burned down, so if it wasn’t burned down, I don’t think it would be nice.
Maybe, they could have filmed her in the trees near Monte Carlo? Like in the surrounding forest. Far enough that Edward, seeing how he usually tunes out the thoughts, might not catch it since he’s busy trying to convince Bella she should not be changed. Oh, and busy kissing her.
@ karen: With the movie? LOL. YOU’RE RIGHT, BABY. Yesterday, after the Movie Outing, Maria asked us how it went, and I replied, “Beautiful. Very visually dynamic.”
@ Zaet: I think he pronounced it closer to “Luh Push, baby. It’s, Luh Push.”
@ Winter Raven: You’re a model fan! We need fans to have a mindset just like yours. Yes, the movie is definitely not Oscar worthy, and probably not even the best action film there may be out there, but it was niiiiiice.
When the actors said something exactly I would comment with “That’s what he/she said!”
I have no idea if you already know it or not, but you should look up the phrase “that’s what she said” in Urbandictionary.com, and see what its meaning is actually like. At first, when I read that sentence, for a moment I thought you were being funny. Heh.
I must say that i am now very proud of the music choice. At first I had my doubts about Supermassive Black Hole being worked into the movie, but now, whenever I hear the song, I will inevitably think of vampire baseball.
I’M PROUD OF MYSELF.
Yeah, I was finding it weird, like, “What’s SBH doing on the soundtrack?” And that day, the TV was on Okto, and they showed shots of the next episode of Battlestar Galactica. When I heard the music, I whipped up my head and was half-angry, half-amused to see that they were using Supermassive Black Hole for Battlestar Galactica! And I realized somewhere in me, I was defending the soundtrack more furiously than I ever thought possible.
December 21, 2008 at 10:53 pm
@ Bessy: Oh.My.God. You’re damn funny. I searched “That’s why she said” and now I can’t stop laughing at the examples they gave on the urbandic.com LOL. Mmm that’s true.
Okay. I’m still laughing.
December 21, 2008 at 11:00 pm
@ xLINNJIA: You should be more pissed that this scene wasn’t included:
It’s way cuter than Emmett’s disapproval of Bella. It was in the credits though, but I am fervently hoping for it to be on the DVD.
Yeah, they didn’t right out explain that the song Edward was playing was Bella’s lullaby, but I don’t actually mind. I think the Cullens’ history can actually be sort of skipped. Not essential to the plot, so it was deleted I guess. Well, they could always use New Moon or Eclipse to explain everyone’s stories at once. Carlisle’s history, especially, in New Moon, because they’ll be meeting the Volturi.
By the boat scene, you mean the scene where Waylon was killed by the nomads, right? And then James stole his jacket. Lmao.
but it was like alice wasn’t given as many roles as she could to portray how hyper she was .
Definitely with you on this one. At the Cullens’ house, Alice jumped off that branch. That’s nice. But with the tone she said, “I’m Alice”, until today, I still feel uncomfortable about it. She should have been like, “I’M ALIIIICE!!!!!!*&t#*&!t#!” instead of just, “I’m Alice…………..” Ashley Greene also said, “Oh, you ~do~ smell good.” instead of “Oh, YOU *DO* SMELL GOOOOOOOD~~~~~”
I hope she changes that in New Moon, until the Volturi scene.
she was given only a few scenes to be rosalie in the movie , but you really saw from how she pulled the role off that she is a really good actress .
I absolutely agree. Nikki has, to be honest, mediocre looks and a face shape that’s somewhat squarish. An ideal feminine face shape would be oval (Kristen’s)/heart-shaped (Bella’s), and the center parting she had while at the Bella Meets The Cullens scene totally did not help. In spite of this, I must say that Nikki acted very well, and I was feeling the hatred at the baseball scene. She’s one really awesome Rosalie.

@Bessy
Hahaha ! Yeah i didnt thought of the U and H together making it sound totally the same
yeah Luh Push Baby..
its… Luuhh Puuush.
December 21, 2008 at 11:12 pm
@ Tasha: I know right, it’s a total sexual innuendo! To Winter Raven: I didn’t mean any offense by telling you about that, it’s just funny to know you’re actually clueless about it. Omg I can’t believe I’m 14 and teaching you girls these. I need to cleanse my vocabulary. Unfortunately, though, while it has long been believed that Twilight is a representative of chastity and restraint, the truth is that everyone feels the hots for Rob, so let’s just carry on and pretend I didn’t say anything.
December 21, 2008 at 11:13 pm
@ Bessy: LOL. I thought you were 18 or something! I’m 15. Haha.
December 21, 2008 at 11:15 pm
@ Zaet:
Eric: LUH PUSH BABY, YOU IN?
Bella: Should I know what that means?
Mike: La Push beach down the Quileute rez. We’re all going tomorrow.
Jessica: And there’s a big swell coming in.
Eric: AND I DON’T JUST SURF THE INTERNET.
Jessica: He stood up once, and it was on a foam board.
Angela: There’s whale watching too. Come with us.
Eric: LUHHHH PUSHHH BABY, IT’S… LUHHHH PUSH.
Bella: Okay I’ll go if you stop saying that.
Priceless conversation of all time.
December 21, 2008 at 11:16 pm
@ Tasha: SEE? AN UNDERAGED TWEEN TEACHING YOU STUFF LIKE THAT. WASH YOUR EYES WITH SOAP! I’ll be sec 3 next year. *proud* But it just means I won’t be able to follow up on New Moon news so much. Bah. I wish I could like pause studying, you know, fly over to where they are filming and help out and work on set and when they’re done with production, I’ll just come back and continue studying. The best education schedule ever.
December 21, 2008 at 11:18 pm
@ xLINNJIA: OH MY EDWARD, I’VE JUST REALIZED THAT I DIDN’T MANAGE TO PROPERLY INCLUDE THE GIF! Wait, click on this link and see. It should be all right now.
December 21, 2008 at 11:20 pm
@ Bessy: AHEM. If you can’t, what about me? Darned O levels .___.
Sigh, the soap doesn’t help. HAHA.
December 21, 2008 at 11:23 pm
I’ve watched Twilight the third time and i think it was fab!It was better than the first time I watched it, and maybe its because I didn’t think about the book! The movie itself is fantastic in a different way!
December 21, 2008 at 11:27 pm
@ Kelly:
Scenes like when Bella visits the Cullen’s house, the conversations with Mike and Eric, and especially the baseball scene had me going ZOMFGWOAHTOTALLYAWESOME!!!!
The movie itself is fantastic in a different way!
I agree with you on that
December 21, 2008 at 11:38 pm
@ Tasha: Hee, but at least you’ll be all right for Eclipse! Whereas I have to suffer two years in a row.
the baseball scene had me going ZOMFGWOAHTOTALLYAWESOME!!!!
AT LEAST YOUR THOUGHTS HAD PROPER, READABLE WORDS. I was utterly speechless and incoherent for the duration of the baseball scene and anything going through my mind was just “asabflna;qwe;sdnlkzhdwyeho20o17204hsaldn.sd;ad”.
December 21, 2008 at 11:46 pm
YES ! the baseball scene
YES ! YES ! YES ! YES
WITH MUSE IT MADE ME FELT LIKE I WAS GONNA GO BERSERK AND PUNCH SOMETHING OR JUST SLAP MYSELF
and Jasper was just sick with his baseballbat moves,i’m so gonna learn that HAHA
seriously i can’t believe i’m crazy and talking about Twilight with girls ,
i feel so gay right now..
December 22, 2008 at 12:21 am
@ Zaet: LOL, you are anything but gay! Well maybe in the eyes of the people hailing from Mars you are, but to us, you are brave okay. Guys who read Twilight > girls who read Harry Potter. Jasper is pure awesome. I liked his second trick, where he swung it around, hit the tip of the baseball bat to reverse the revolution, and just grabbed it mid-air. (Forgive me Maria, I almost swore.) COMPLETELY FREAKING SMOOOOOOOTH.
December 22, 2008 at 12:35 am
Oh, I also like the quote, “Like I said.”
B: It’s prophase.
E: Mind if I looked?
B: *shrugged*
E: *checks* It’s prophase.
B: Like I said.
…
E: It’s metaphase.
B: Mind if I checked it?
E: Sure.
B: *looks* It’s metaphase.
E: Like I said. *impish grin*
Mannnnn, it’s so cute.
December 22, 2008 at 1:04 am
HAHA awww THANKS !
omg yes that second trick ! i think i’m crazy cause i so wanna do it.
that move was just (swears) SMOOTH!
i bet he had like 1938472803 takes on that one
it totally left me wordless AND thoughtless when he did that one
December 22, 2008 at 1:41 am
@ Bessy: LOL. With SBH added in the background, i was trying hard not to scream!\
@ Zaet: you’re definitely not gay (:
December 22, 2008 at 8:40 am
Wow Bessy. How many times have you watched it already? XD
I wanna watch it at different cinemas hahaa.
December 22, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I think the movie is awesome.
Fave parts is definitely the baseball scene. Also the part where Carlisle had convinced Rosalie to help save Bella because “she’s part of the family”. -sighs-
I don’t really have a bad scene in mind, but does anyone notice the part when Edward and Bella were talking about how he and Esme got turned by Carlisle? First, it wasn’t raining, then, they were under the trees because it was raining. And then, out of the blues, they were sitting by the edge of some cliff [i think] when it wasn’t raining! Hehehe. [i dont know if you understand what i was trying to say.
If i am not to be mistaken, shouldn't Edward be the one to 'control his will' by himself? Not having Carlisle telling him to "find the will"?
I didn't notice about this until my friend told me... She said that the camera was always shaking [not that visible if people are focusing on the characters].
@Bessy: I gotta ask.. Not to be rude or anything [and not trying to pick an argument] but isn’t this supposed to be a movie discussion? How people hated or love the movie? If so, why are you trying to defend Twilight the movie when someone criticize a little of it? I really don’t get it. I mean, people are entitled to speak their mind. So, you trying to disagree and correcting their opinions seem to be a little rude, no? Like i said, no harm trying to point this out. I hope you don’t take this in an offensive way.
December 22, 2008 at 5:09 pm
@ FT:
Yeah, noticed the camera shaking, at the part where Bella arrives at Charlie’s.
December 22, 2008 at 5:43 pm
I just watched Twilight today. Yes,I know, I’m slow, but i still caught it!
Twilight was awesome, except if compared to the book, the book beats it. Perhaps it’s because we already know the story. Not to mention if you have a cynical friend who snickers at everything (shouldn’t have invited him!), sigh.
BUT! Despite my annoying friend and all the negative stuff, the movie left me lingering till the credits in hope for more.I recited all the words with my friends, squealed (quietly though, not to disturb anyone except my irritating partner) when all the cullens appeared, and when the romantic bits came out….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I loved the part when Edward was still being cold to Bella in the place where there’s alot of vegetables? and the baseball scene – AWESOME SCENE! – and the fight scene. The fight scene -not being sadistic or anything- was nice because i found that part to be the part the actors and actresses acted the best. I could really really feel the pain and could have screamed if i was not in the theatre ( I cowered to my friend instead – not the annoying one)
I really truly love twilight. I can’t wait for New Moon(!) because when I watched the movie, I felt I liked Jacob even more now. Perhaps the romance hasn’t really opened up for Edward and Bella in the first movie yet, but well, they ARE juniors. (*coughs*Maybe not the first time for Edward…*coughs*) Erm…But I found Jacob’s hair…abit too long… heehee.
Oh hail TWILIGHT!
= Winnie Soh – a die-hard Twilight fan. =
December 22, 2008 at 5:46 pm
Twilight is an awesome book. but what i feel is that the movie really ain’t up to standards. I was so hyped up n when i watched it, i really was disappointed. For those who haven’t read the book or is just a plain fanatic it was really breath taking. But i felt the missed out alot of parts which wld have made the show interesting. It was too rushed for me.
December 22, 2008 at 6:43 pm

@ Profit: OMEEEEEE. You’re making me so excited now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 22, 2008 at 7:44 pm
@ Fellow Twilighter: but does anyone notice the part when Edward and Bella were talking about how he and Esme got turned by Carlisle? First, it wasn’t raining, then, they were under the trees because it was raining. And then, out of the blues, they were sitting by the edge of some cliff [i think] when it wasn’t raining!
It’s like the Q&A part from the book being translated onto the screen, although not exactly.
Yeah, actually that isn’t an inconsistency, it’s to show that Bella grilled Edward on his lifestyle and his being a vampire for over a long period of time. I don’t know if it was within a day, or it’s over a few days, but yeah.
If i am not to be mistaken, shouldn’t Edward be the one to ‘control his will’ by himself? Not having Carlisle telling him to “find the will”?
Yeah I actually didn’t like that very much too. Carlisle could like have said, “Find the will. You love her.” instead of just the first sentence, but subsequently the look in Edward changed and he said, “I’ll make it [the pain] go away, Bella. I’ll make it go away.” And then his frenzy began, which is half-understandable, half-uncomfortable. But I’ll take it anyway.
I didn’t notice about this until my friend told me… She said that the camera was always shaking [not that visible if people are focusing on the characters].
Yes that’s because Catherine’s signature style is to film using the handheld camera and do close-ups. If you watch her other movies, especially Thirteen, she enjoys using handheld cameras a lot. Therefore it’s pretty shaky. At first I had my doubts about her not using the typical camera to film, but it actually turned out pretty well.
Yes, precisely because it’s a discussion, that’s why people are voicing their opinions and I am like both trying to defend the movie and give them reasons/explanations. You see, when someone comes in telling me the movie is disappointing in all aspects, I have to say that is unfair. And because not everyone followed the movie through its period from announcement, casting, filming, production, post-production, promotion all the way through release, not everyone actually were aware of the bits and pieces involved while doing the movie. I need them to understand things like, yes, the make-up sucked big time, but the production people definitely had their reasons for not being so up to standard. Get it? I’m not exactly trying to correct their opinion, if that’s actually what I’ve been coming across as, I apologize to anyone I’ve offended.
I just want to like explain you know.
Oh don’t worry, I didn’t get angry!
Just as a form of elaboration, for example, people are disappointed by the movie. In a way, I get defensive but I also need people to understand the reasons why they are disappointed and I want them to be able to re-watch the movie and enjoy it and not actually feel sad. Why people get disappointed by the movie:
1) There hasn’t been such a huge fanbase for any book-to-movie adaptation since Harry Potter.
2) The fans living in America who are able to visit the filming set do. From day one till the last day.
3) Pictures are posted everywhere – Twilight Lexicon, Twilight Moms, etc.
4) MTV begins its Twilight Tuesdays.
5) The mainstream media picked up on the hint of a new big movie, so they just keep overflowing with reports everywhere. Everysinglefreakingwhere. From LA Times, to Entertainment Weekly, to People magazine (*snort*) to local magazines and newspapers all over the world.
6) More and more. The snowball effect.
7) All this hype resulted in people having the impression, “Man, this movie’s gotta be good.”
8) In actual fact, there was but a low budget of $37 million by an independent movie studio. (And, in an even more actual fact, a lot of people are unaware of that.)
9) People also compare it to the book too much, expecting a spot-on adaptation.
10) DISAPPOINTMENT ENSUES.
I’d like people to understand the main reasons for why Twilight can’t live up to high standards, that’s all.
I hope *you* understand! Haha.
@ Winnie Soh- die-hard Twilight Fan: The fight scene -not being sadistic or anything- was nice because i found that part to be the part the actors and actresses acted the best.
I definitely am with you on this. Until now, I still admire Kristen Stewart for her writhing-in-agony expressions and acting.
@ shannon: If you do not mind, do read the paragraph above with the numbered bullet points. And I hope after going through that, you will give the movie another chance, really, like Maria said.
December 22, 2008 at 8:16 pm
@ Bessy: Exactly the part I laughed at the movie, when it was meant to be serious..
1) Edward’s expression when he couldn’t stop sucking Bella’s blood. LMAO.
2) Bella’s face while Edward was sucking out the poison. Must be her 2 front rabbit-teeth that got me distracted. ROFL..
Seriously guys, watch the movie again to get what I mean..
December 23, 2008 at 1:34 am
@ Aishah: I know. You suck big-time.
December 23, 2008 at 4:38 pm
@ Aishah: THose were the same for me. ESPECIALLY when he couldn’t stop sucking her blood, and he was rowing back and forth on his heels. MAJOR LOL.
As well as the part where he was covering his mouth when she was gonna sit next to him.
December 23, 2008 at 7:44 pm
@ Tasha: Oh, that, definitely. As in, the Biology scene. ARE YOU WATCHING THE MAKING OF TWILIGHT!!!!!!! I AM HYPERVENTILATING!

December 24, 2008 at 7:41 pm
AHAHA. omg.
when carlisle first entered…people were like saying “OMG he’s so handsomeee!” and he was. heh heh.
loved the baseball scene the most!
but things were pretty fast paced. sigh.
omg, loved charlie’s talk about the pepper spray! HILARIOUS!
hahahaha.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TWILIGHTERS! (:
December 24, 2008 at 10:38 pm
Most of my friend’s who have NOT YET read the books, and the ones I DRAGGED down to watch the movie with me, said that they were more infatuated with CARLISLE. Most of them preferred Carlisle, rather than any of the Cullen Boys.
If I had not yet read the books too, I guess Carlisle would be a GREAT choice too! Who wouldn’t want a handsome vampire who can control his thirst for your blood around you?
Plus I have to agree with Angela Weber, too. I wish that I was being adopted by the Cullens.
December 25, 2008 at 11:51 am
@ Aishah: HAHAHA, as a pet of theirs?
December 25, 2008 at 5:10 pm
@ Tasha: HAHAHA, YOU’RE SO MEEEEEEEEEEEAN! But I don’t mind being adopted as a pet. You know. I could be like Gianna. Work for them even though they don’t really need me. And then when I’m old, they can suck my blood. I don’t mind.
December 25, 2008 at 5:55 pm
@ Bessy: LOL. Yeah me too! But I’d only want Edward to suck my blood.
And darn,I wanna watch twilight again. Gotta collect those ticket stubs ;D
BESSY WATCH WITH ME!!!!
December 25, 2008 at 6:16 pm
@ Tasha: Are you sure you would like to watch it again with Bessy? LOL Kidding. Bessy don’t get mad ok! Haha. But for me, I think I’ll bring a masking tape just in case. XD
December 25, 2008 at 9:28 pm
Going back to Sin tomorrow! Finally I can go and watch the digital version!!
December 25, 2008 at 9:32 pm
@ Tasha: OKAY I WILL WATCH WITH YOU! If I have money. Rofl. I’ve watched Twilight twice this week already, maybe a third time later this Saturday (yes, Maria? YES?).
@ Nash: LOL, NO, I’M MAGNANIMOUS. PSH. I’ll ban all masking tape shops to sell any masking tape to you and burn those remaining in your house muahaha. I’m having so much fun entertaining myself.
BOOB GLANCE! ROFL. MARIA WHY WEREN’T YOU HERE WITH US!!!!! TODAY’S OUTING WAS THE FUNNIEST!

@ Tasha: WE MADE A DATE ALREADY YAY MY X’MAS PRESENT ROFL. I received uh two X’mas presents this year.
Because I don’t celebrate it. One’s from school, another’s from you! (L) It’s okay, if my arm is dislocated at least I’ll look like the arm version of Bella.
MARIA ARE YOU BACK IN SINGAPORE YET!!!!!!!!!
December 26, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Anyone going to re-read New Moon? I am in a dilemma on whether I should or not. On one hand, it’s going to be the next movie and I need to refresh my memory but on the other… THE PAIN…
…IS UNBEARABLE. I think. Well it’s okay, the ending is sweet. Depressed!Bella = Depressed!fans.
December 26, 2008 at 2:42 pm
@ Bessy: The post you made on your blog about our recent ‘movie outing’. OME. SOO FUNNY!! Maybe Nash is right. WE should prepare duct tape next time all of us watch the movie together. To tape not only your mouth, but unfortunately mine too.
I guess we can’t help to NOT comment on the movie soo much after watching MULTIPLE TIMES. Some Twilighters, we are..
December 26, 2008 at 6:33 pm
@ Bessy: HAHA OKAY! I’ll bring some bandages!
And I’m halfway through NM. I was soo scared to read the beginnning, cos it makes me so depressed.
@ Aishah: You know, that’s a good idea. LOL.
December 26, 2008 at 7:03 pm
this film is full romance….
and i like that…so much..
and to edward cullen..he is a charming…..
December 26, 2008 at 8:29 pm
@ Aishah: SHOULD I POST IT HERE? XD ROFL THAT WOULD BE SO HILARIOUS! I mean, an entry on Twilight Singapore on us making fun of the scenes. Then we put the answers in the comments. How about that?
We could ask readers to add in your own personal jokes too, and explain them to us! LOL.
And duct tape no use lah. We’ll probably tear it off anyway.
POOR NASH. HAHA. I BET SHE HAD A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE WITH US.
*can’t stop laughing*
You know, during the movie, every time Nash shushed me and asked me to keep quiet, I kept laughing more instead.
Yeah, after watching it so many times, we make fun of it more than to cry over it, HAHAHAHA.
@ Tasha: No, I meant the arm version by that my arm will be wearing a cast, whereas Bella had a cast on her leg!
YOU KNOW THE WAY YOU SAID TO AISHAH, “You know, that’s a good idea. LOL.”, IT REMINDED ME OF ANGELA!
Bella: …Speedo padding on the swim team.
Angela: Actually, that’s a good one!
Jessica: Kirk, right? That’s exactly what I thought!
LOL. TOO MUCH TWILIGHT IS HARMFUL TO YOUR BRAIN.
@ i.sHa: I hope you were sleeptyping. All your ellipses made me feel so dreamy. XD
December 27, 2008 at 12:19 am
@ i.sHa: LOL, I meant to type “you weren’t“. Seems like I’m the one who’s sleeptyping.
ROFL. WELL NO I’M NOT ASLEEP ACTUALLY.
In fact, I’m typing here with New Moon in my lap and I’m fearful of opening it up to read it…
T-T
SOMEBODY REWIND BACK TIME AND MAKE STEPHENIE MEYER REWRITE THE STORY!
December 27, 2008 at 12:21 am
@ Bessy:
HAHAHA. and LOL I almost typed “Bella” when I was typing your name up there ^
HAHAHA ohhhhh right!
Twilight isn’t harmful………..wait.
It’s like a drug to me.
HAHAHAHA
ohhh go on! read it! And i just finished reading the entire Movie script online. Wooh.
December 27, 2008 at 12:27 am
@ Tasha: LOL, I DON’T MIND BEING BELLA! Are you serious, reading New Moon. x_x Yeah, I finished reading the script that day in one day too! It’s nice, and I hate how so many nice scenes in there were extracted out of the final cut! E.g. In the script, at prom, all the Cullen siblings were supposed to be there! I guess they ran out of money to buy suits and dresses for the Cullen siblings.
December 27, 2008 at 12:44 am
@ Bella oops! BESSY: HAHAHA okay! yesss! Just remember! Ed’ll be back! That’s what motivates me to read NM over and over.
Mmm, thank goodness they have a bigger budget for NM. I hope they let Alice drive that yellow Porsche!!!!!!!
December 27, 2008 at 12:50 am
Noooooo the budget isn’t even confirmed yet! It might be only $50 million, and that’s very little, considering that they have gotten back like almost 6 times what they’d forked out for the budget. PSHHHHH. And it’s not like Summit is very poor okay, they have made some successful films recently too. I want a $70 million budget, at least. They need to pay Rob his salary too. Apparently he’s doubling his pay for New Moon. n_n GOOD FOR HIM.
YES, AND IF THEY OMIT THE PORSCHE + DON’T GIVE A BUDGET BIGGER THAN $50 MILLION (especially if they’re filming Eclipse and NM back to back, according to rumours) + CAST MICHAEL COPON + EXTRACT OUT IMPORTANT VOLTURI CHARACTERS, I’ll boycott the movie.
By the way guys, I just found this: http://www.shawmovies.sg/twilight/yahoopromo/index.htm! Should we promote it?
December 27, 2008 at 1:26 am
@ Bessy: Honey, the SHAW movies promotion ended on the 22nd DECEMBER…
And maybe, from Stephenie Meyer’s site, the part where Edward received the news from Rosalie that Bella had just committed suicide.
Hmm.. Rob’s salary to be doubled in New Moon? From the book we barely heard about Edward, except when Bella is imagining his voice in her head. This means that maybe we’ll get to see Edward trying to track Victoria!
HUR HUR!
I SOO wanna see that part!!
OH THE AGONY!!!
70 MILLION PLEASE!!!
December 27, 2008 at 1:44 am
Mm, I read somewhere about Rob saying he only had 2 scenes, so I think TAYLOR (I reufse to believe MC can play Jacob) should be getting ALOT more. or more, I guess.
I just think that when people look at Jacob, he has to look happy. Like he has a permanent smile on his face. And Taylor pulls that off really well.
Well, I’m off the zoo! See you guys! HAHAHA
December 27, 2008 at 7:58 am
Hi,
I just watched Twilight twice and already I think I crazy!! (That’s wat my husband keeps telling me…haha)
I think its the most tender and mesmerizing love story of the century. And of course I love Bella (Kristen Steward) and Edward (Robert Pattinson). Think they portrayed Edward and Bella really well, I can even imagine them when I’m readign the book. Maybe the movie was too short for them to show the development of their feelings.
Oh, but i think part of Rosalie was kinda wrongly cast cos she is supposed to be the most beautiful woman possible but Nikki Reed (not that she is not pretty but..) is not that beautiful.
But I love the rest of the cast and i think they really make up the Cullen family.
Loved the part Edward tells Bella she is his life now (awwww, that is like so sweet!) and i love the scene where edward drove bella to school and he was wearing his sunglasses and telling bella that anyway, he is going to hell….haha…its like he doesnt care wat people thinks and he just wants to be with bella. and i loved the way he smiled, like so cheeky and playful but still so in love! (Think im swooning now….*sigh*)
Also love the baseball scene cos its like it shows all of them to be like so strong….so superhuman!
and sorry about the super long post cos i really want to share my thoughts and feelings with people who are crazy about twilight too…(cos my husband and sister keep saying that im crazy)
and everyday, i search the web for news on them too!…am i really that obsessed? haha..
i really hope that they can hook up in real life though…well, thats me…
Thanks for listening!
December 27, 2008 at 11:57 am
Oh, and can someone please tell me where to get the soundtrack? cos im totally in love with the song that Edward plays on the piano and the song they danced to during the prom….Thanks!
December 27, 2008 at 12:00 pm
@ Elle78: Borders or HMV has it.
December 27, 2008 at 7:54 pm
@ Elle78: Hey there! Its ok for if you’re obsessed now, most people became fans of Twilight ever since the movie came out too!
For the Soundtrack here are a few fun facts:
The actor who portrays Edward Cullen, is Robert Pattinson. You might recognize him as Cedric Diggory from the Harry Potter Movies, specifically #4 & #5.
Rob actually has 2 songs in the Soundtrack. He wrote both songs and performed it for the movie.
One of them is called ‘Never Think’, which is played during the scene where Edward and Bella were in the restaurant where he revealed he can read minds. You can hear ‘Never Think’ in the background.
The other one is ‘Let Me Sign’. This one is my personal favourite Rob’s song. This one is played when Edward was sucking out the venom from Bella’s blood and then a ‘flashback is being played.
The ones that you have asked for is ‘Bella’s Lullaby’ composed by Carter Burwell which is the one that Edward played on the piano. In real life, Rob is talented in playing the piano and the guitar too!
From IMDB:
The song that they danced to during prom is most of our staff’s favourite too: ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ by Iron & Wine. This song was actually recommended by Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella, to be played specifically for this scene.
You can get the Soundtrack album from any music store. It costs about $20+ as it also includes one of the 4 Twilight poster also.

Okay as soon as I touched down at the airport yesterday I dropped my bags at home and went to watch Number 5 & number 6 back to back. And today I saw Number 7 & 8. Seriously DIGITAL is sooooo goood!!
I love how smart Bella is!
I love how Edward does the ‘Fish tail’ manevour @ Port Angeles with the Volvo. I love how that car sounds.
I love his crooked smiles!!! I gasp every time!
I love how he looked in those Ray bans!
I love how Bella is mesmerized by him and when she recovers herselF. She’s soo natural.
I love the scenes From the conFession in the Forest in between the rocks. How he looks pained when Bella says, ” I’m scared oF losing you.” That close up is (OOHHHHH!!) okay I am gasping now… HAHAHA suFFice to say it leaves me breathless… then comes the lines,”And so the lion Falls inlove with the lamb…etc” (OOOHHH!!)
Then they lie on the meadow…I will tilt my head when the scene is on Edward so it’ll be like me instead oF Bella!!! Haha
Ok will continue later…

Hey Elle78, the dvd will be out next year, probably by mid year the latest when it reached Singapore!
And all of us can rush down to get our dvd okay?
For now, all of us here keep crashing into the cinemas.
It just gets better and better after you watch it so many times.
Seriously, watching Twilight in DIGITAL is so much better!
December 28, 2008 at 12:32 am
Izzatee.
If the DVD comes out mid-year.
Next year.
I swear.
I’m going to kill someone.
December 28, 2008 at 1:50 am
@ Elle78: Movie #1 –> Twilight –> Movie #2 –> NM, Eclipse, BD –> Movie #3, #4, #5, #6, etc. Okay? Promise me you’ll go be best friends with the cinema in the next few days!
Just go alone and watch, it’s all right. Trust me. We have a few fans around here who have watched the movie themselves too!
Maria, did something happen to your keyboard? All your ‘F’s are CAPITALIZED like roFl.
December 28, 2008 at 1:52 am
yup, yup, seriously thinking about watching it the third time! Replaying the scenes over and over my head…*sigh*
was just listening to the soundtrack on youtube and i absolutely love the prom song and it fitted the scene so well….the song sounded so sad and i think that’s wat both Edward and Bella was feeling at the time, you know, with her wanting to be changed and him struggling with the decision, i could see the pain in his eyes and i could really feel it when i was listening to the song….almost cried man!
somebody please tell me im not going crazy…hahaha….and sorry if i always hog the discussion forum with my obsessive feelings….:P
December 28, 2008 at 10:44 am
LOL, no definitely you’re not crazy. The rest of your social circle may think so, but here with us you’re safe and perfectly sound! Twilight Singapore is a place for people like you to rant and gush, ok, so any time you feel this like overwhelming love for Twilight, just come here and make as much noise as you want.
I cried during the prom scene. So there. I’ve watched the movie 7 times, I cried 4 times.
December 28, 2008 at 2:09 pm
HAHA Bessy! My ‘f’ key doesn’t work anymore so now I just cut and paste the nearest ‘f’ I can find. Don’t matter capitalized or not…hehehehe You must be wondering what made my ‘f’ key break…hahah Its not what you think ok!?!
Anyway, Elle78 I’ve watched it 8 times and I’ve never cried yet but my heart always ‘swells’ at this scene (also during the confessions) and I have this lump in my throat… She’s begging him with tears in her eyes and he’s doesn’t want to change her. I said it before..Rob & Kristen did the scene soo well. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE HOW FERVENTLY EDWARD KISSES BELLA… ON HER NECK AND ON HER LIPS. OHHH!! ( But I like to think its Rob kissing Kristen! hehe)
Its beautiful because in its strength and gentleness shows just how much he adores her. She is his life now!! OH!
I gulp all the time!! OMG! I think I am gonna go again tonight!! I am so gonna be deprived of the Twilight movie for 5 days so I better load up!!
December 28, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Profit: I LOVE THAT SCENE TOO! and especially the immediate part after she says “i dream of being with you forever”. There’s so much emotion and everything. Breaks my heart.
I’m watching it again a couple more times too! Before…school starts D:
I got so annoyed in the cinemas cos there were so many indonesian maids making ALOT of noise and on the phone. sigh.
December 28, 2008 at 6:02 pm
@ Maria: HMM, WHAT AM I THINKING? AH YOU’RE THE ONE WHO’S THINKING WRONGLY LOL.
(But I like to think its Rob kissing Kristen! hehe)
You kuku lah you. I *wish* it was Rob kissing Kristen ah, seriously. THEY NEED TO BE TOGETHER, ALREADY. And if I ever get to meet Kristen, I’ll ask her the question that time she had in that interview. “Who’s sexier – Zac Efron or Rob?” And she must answer. Woot!
Bella: Edward why did you save me? You just let the venom spread. I could be like you right now.
Edward: You don’t know what you’re saying. You don’t want this.
Bella: I want you. Always.
Edward: I’m not gonna end your life for you.
Bella: I’m dying, already. Every second I get closer, older.
Edward: That’s the way it’s supposed to be.
Bella: Alice said that she saw me like you. I heard her.
Edward: Her visions change.
Bella: Yeah, based on what people decide. I’ve decided.
Edward: So that’s what you dream about? Of becoming a monster?
Bella: I dream about being with you forever.
Edward: Forever? And you’re ready right now?
Bella: *nods*
Edward: *bends down on the pretext of biting her, but just plants her a kiss* Is it not enough, just to have a long and happy life with me?
Bella: For now.
And then in the background, you hear, Have I found you/Flightless bird/Grounded, bleeding/Or lost you/American mouth. So sad.
LE SIGHHHHHHH.
December 28, 2008 at 8:22 pm
hi hi! sorry for this late reply as i just got back to singapore last night….just wanna say thanks for letting me know the title of the song that was played during the prom scene.
@elle78
u are definately NOT alone in this craziness…my bf also can’t believe i am so obsessed over twilight. i have watched twilight three times. first with my bf, second time i went alone (yes, i went alone after work, and i kept it from my bf coz i didn’t want him to nag at me…haha) and the third time with my brother. my brother could not believe that i was willing to watch the movie 3 times! so if you really want to, its totally OK to watch it alone.
and everytime i am online, i’m searching for videos on twilight on youtube, news on twilight etc. and my bf always roll his eyes whenever he catches me reading/ watching/ looking for twilight stuff….
unlike you, i started with the books first and subsequently, when i realised who the leads in the movie were, like you, i could actually imagine them as i was reading the book. it just makes the whole reading experience so much more real.
he knew that i’m a gone case when instead of turning on the tv (which used to be the first thing i ever do whenever i reach his place) i am reading the book instead…and reading on the bus, car (which i never do coz i will get car sick)…..
you can refer to my post above on 19 dec on my thoughts on the movie. actually, they are quite similar to yours!
@bessy
which is the scene where stephanie meyer made an appearance? i’m toying with the idea of watching twilight another time…(maybe another after work secret….haha) so i really want to watch out for that scene….
btw…i read above that there was a making of twilight being shown on TV???!!!!
i only managed to watch the one on starhub channel 80 (E! Entertainment) behind the scenes…..about 20 minutes i think…definately too short for me…
December 28, 2008 at 8:43 pm
@ owlet: Rofl, my brother went, “AGAIN?” about three times because I kept telling him I’m going out, and he’d be like, “Where to?” and I don’t have to answer, because he’ll immediately go, “AGAIN?”
Duh, AGAIN.
To everyone who comes here: Don’t worry, over here in your safe little cozy haven, no one here would think you are crazy. Just that if you have, like me, seen the movie 7 times, it’s just a little overboard that’s all, but definitely no one would think you’re mad.
The scene where Stephenie Meyer made an appearance is, uh, the scene where Bella has dinner with her dad at the diner?
Bella: *exits from her truck*
Mike: Arizona, hey… So, you and Cullen, huh? I don’t like it. I mean he looks at you like you’re something to eat.
Bella: *smirks*
Waitress: Stephenie here’s your veggie plate.
Stephenie Meyer is on the left, typing at a silver Macbook. She’s wearing like the maroon coloured shirt.
Watch it again. Just so you know, before that scene is the scene where Victoria is running and leading the police away from Forks, and Charlie, who is leading the policemen, squats down and discovers that it’s a bare human footprint in the sand.
Yes, the making of Twilight was shown on TV! It’s like this extended version of the one MTV showed us, and IT’S SO AWESOME OME I WAS HYPERVENTILATING AWAY. The one you saw on Starhub Channel 80, was it similar to MTV’s? Because the one we saw should probably be around 20 minutes too.
@ YOU, IF YOU’RE READING THIS: We have a ‘Twilight Movie Stubs and Q&A Contest’ going on! Go http://twilightsingapore.com/2008/12/28/twilight-movie-stubs-and-qa-contest/ for more details and do take part. I can guarantee you that you won’t regret it if you win. Also, we have begun our weekly book discussion, and the first chapter is http://twilightsingapore.com/2008/12/28/twilight-online-book-discussion-first-sight/.
December 28, 2008 at 9:21 pm
@elle78
oh..i forgot to add….i totally agree with you that nikki reed was not the “right” person to portray rosalie…just that nikki is not as beautiful as the book described rosalie to be…
the scene whereby after she walked pass bella in the cafeteria where there was a shot of both her and emmett walking away, hmm….that was not a flattering shot of her backside….oops!
btw…once you guys hear of the dvd release, just go straight to amazon.com to order and buy it from there! and there being so many of you, all of you can share and divide the shipping cost which is not expensive really….and you will get the dvd even earlier rather than waiting for it to come to singapore….my bf always buy our dvds straight from amazon…and according to him, its cheaper than buying it from the retailers in singapore.
i’m not sure if i’m right, but there were some scenes where i managed to catch in youtube or on the behind the scenes that some scenes were not actually in the movie….hopefully the dvd is an extended version and has a more detailed “making-of/ behind the scenes” of the movie….keeping my fingers crossed!
December 28, 2008 at 9:29 pm
@bessy
i know which scene you are talking abt…just that i didn’t really go look at the background people…was just too focused on the leads…anyways, will look out for her the next time i go watch it! hopefully on tuesday!
the making of twilight was on TV??!! channel 5?! damn! i knew something like that will bound to happen! i was looking at the tv guide on 8 days but i didn’t see it! urgh! i have no idea whether the one i watched on e! is the same as the one on mtv…sighz….i will just have to make do with what i have….
December 28, 2008 at 9:35 pm
ahaha! Bessy, you’re so lucky! got to watch it seven times…
i only had enough money to go twice ):
hahahaha. Just wondering, but is anyone else a fan of jasper?
hoping I’m not alone…
even though jasper isn’t really really important in the story, i find his character interesting. gah, I’m weird.
ahahah my friend and I (we’re both twilighters! yay!) were nudging each other when stephenie appeared! hahah we seemed oddly enthu compared to the rest of the people in the cinema!
pepper spray!
December 28, 2008 at 11:41 pm
@jennifer
you may like to know that jackson rathbone aka jasper was born in singapore! and is a close friend of ashley greene aka alice cullen…
i think there are quite a few fans of jasper here as well…there is more of jasper in eclipse where it will tell you more of jasper’s background..that is provided you have not read the book :p
December 28, 2008 at 11:56 pm
@ owlet: that was not a flattering shot of her backside….oops!
Yeah, at the garage too, it’s like Rosalie held onto the metal handrail and slid up onto the cabinet to sit on it. Her legs looked pretty big there, too. But I like Nikki. I think she portrayed Rosalie’s hate very well, so, meh.
once you guys hear of the dvd release, just go straight to amazon.com to order and buy it from there!
I thought Amazon doesn’t ship to Singapore?
Anyway, yeah, there were a lot of deleted scenes, and one of them included this (it’s a link, click on it). According to Catherine, that’s Kristen’s favourite Edward and Bella scene. It appeared only in the credits, but merely for that while.
just that i didn’t really go look at the background people…
Oh, well, in a way Stephenie wasn’t in the background. She was in the foreground, in fact, and Charlie’s table was at the back, in the corner, right in the center of the screen.
the making of twilight was on TV??!! channel 5?!
Yeah. We actually reminded you guys on our website itself, you know. I can’t believe so many people missed it. *facepalm* Look at the top! You can even see a “‘Twilight’ on MEDIACORP” link there.
@ jennifer: Bessy, you’re so lucky! got to watch it seven times…
The last two times I watched it for free, thanks to Nash.
Well, I watched it at the premiere, on 12 December, on 18 December with Aishah, on 20 December (Movie Outing), on 22 December, on 25 December with Nash, Nash’s friend, Aishah and Tasha (she comments here pretty often!) and on 27 December with the Twilight Singapore staff.
MUAHAHA.
Well yeah, I am taking a liking towards Jasper because he’s just pure awesome in the movie! And I feel bad that he had so few lines compared to what would do his character in the book justice.
Stephenie’s cameo is so Alfred Hitchcock.
December 29, 2008 at 12:01 am
due to my obsession with twilight and everything about twilight, i spend all my time on the internet researching…hence i didnt get much sleep (or rather, cannot sleep…haha) so now i look like a vampire! (haha, with the pale skin and dark eye rings…and worse, have fallen sick also, nursing a bad flu) but i wunt give up…
just went out to get the soundtrack today and i keep replaying it, esp. the prom song and bella’s lullaby. as usual, my husband and sis say im crazy lah! (hehe, didnt let my parents know that im so crazy lah, if not they will start nagging too! haha)
@owlet, wow, we are like so similar! like im always online looking up twilight, robert pattinson and kristen steward (and i must say that THEY BELONG TOGETHER!) that i totally forget about eating and sleeping! and now that im sick, my husband say its all because of this twilight thing. but wat do they know right? this is like the most wonderous and special love story of the century man. i tell you, i have never been that obsessed about any movie before!
@profit, yup, i could feel the tears in my eyes as i watch the scene where bella desparately try to convince edward to change her, she was like almost crying….so sad but touching! so emotionally beautiful….*sigh*, im swooning again….
think im going to catch it again tomorrow, cannot imagine the withdrawals symptoms when they stop showing the show and we have to wait for New Moon…*sigh*
December 29, 2008 at 12:41 am
@ Elle78: Dr Carlisle Cullen has just diagnosed you with Obsessive Cullen Disorder. He told me. Don’t worry, it’s legit.
December 29, 2008 at 12:44 am
and i didnt even watch the making of twilight when it was shown on channel 5!!! b*sket….that time i haven join twilight singapore yet and didnt know they were showing it on tv….:(
does anyone know where i can catch it again? maybe on youtube?
December 29, 2008 at 12:44 am
@Bessy : Hey, maybe he can come and treat me and maybe pity me and adopt me into his family?….then i can see edward everyday! (swooning and dreaming now…)
December 29, 2008 at 12:51 am
@ Elle78: Good for you that you have the Soundtrack album now! FYI, there are actually 3 more bonus tracks, but most likely you won’t be able to hear it from the album you bought. But you can most certainly get them from iTunes! The 3 of them are:
Clair de Lune – The APM Orchestra
Let Me Sign – Rob Pattinson
La Traviata – The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
And apparently, there also an Acoustic version of ‘Decode’ by Paramore also. Very COOL!
And the song that was playing at the end of the movie was Radiohead’s ’15 Step’.
December 29, 2008 at 1:04 am
PURE BLISS!! Just got home from watching Twilight #9!!! I really hope Twilight Digital doesn’t so soon!… I wanna watch this with my friends but they are still not back yet…. Need to do some conversion already! Dang it!
OHH! I tell you! I dunno when the excitement of watching the opening credits of the movie with Summit’s icy mountain logo will ever go away for me… I must bring a small pillow next time cos I tend to squeal and need to clutch at something while watching the movie…HAHAHA So squealing into a piillow or biting it would help I think… Hmmm this reminds me of Isle Esme..hahahaha maybe not…
Tonight I sat at row J… kewl seat! I think I’ll move up one row next to be closer to Edward.
Anyways, I love the focus and off-focusing of Mike’s face from Bella’s view when Mike came to ask her to the prom. Bella was preoccupied with Edward on the background. MY goodness its literally Bella! Edward looked so freaking attractive with that beautiful FIERCE sideway glance and mouth slightly open ( he’s listening to Mike’s thoughts and anticipating Bella’s response). OHH! Then that beautiful laugh after Bella turned Mike down!
I LOVE Edward’s grinning face when he said ‘the window’ OHHH THAT SMILE AND THOSE EYES KILL ME E-v-e-ry-t-iiiii-m-e!! I look forward to that scene when he tells her how watching her sleep fascinates him.. He has the sweetest smile!! THEN…”I just wanna try one thing”..OHH!!
@Tasha! I know riiiight!!!! Exactly!
December 29, 2008 at 1:09 am
@Elle78! YAHH!! Also the scene at the restaurant… I just about stop breathing when the opening guitar strums of Robert’s ‘Never Think’ comes on… then his lines…”I feel very protective of you” and before that, “YES/NO…to get to the other side… 1.7 something something (Bessy help!)… And the awesome pained look when he said “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you “(something like dat)… And Bella’s “Then don’t” I LOVE IT!! I couldn’t have summarised the book in any other way! Thank you Catherine! Thank you Melissa!
Yah you guys… I am watching this movie over and over (like I was reading the books repeatedly)..How will you will ever find any point in time where you can watch Twilight in cinema again after this. It will not be the same experience on DVD unless you have your own private cinema (cannot argue with that) So I am gonna enjoy it while it lasts. Seeing posters everywhere and people talking about it. It will never be like this again.
Finding a good book or a great movie is like being in love ( I know! its crazyto compare but its similar) You crave it, you want it all the time so enjoy while it lasts… How else would you want to live your life? Milk it for every joy and happiness that it can give you. heh!
Oya1 Tonight I had this girl dictating to this guy with her everything about the movie in mandarin. HAHA When the boy missed a line, she would tell him what it was.. HAHA awessomeness!!
December 29, 2008 at 1:42 am
@Aishah : Wow, how do you know so much?
ya, i was like looking for “Let me Sign” but cannot find then i thot there was another version of the soundtrack that maybe i missed it….but thanks for your info, dear
im going to watch it again later…hehehe…but of course secretly…..
December 29, 2008 at 10:09 am
hey girls,
(For everyone who thinks that Robert and Kristen should be together, this is good news!)
I just read an article from SundayMercury.Net that Robert and Kristen are together!!!! (Yipee!) and that Catherine Hardwicke said :”From the first moment they met, you could feel the magnetic pull and sexual tension…”
So those interested in news on them can go read the article…sorry, i dunno how to link it.
By the way, got the info from RobertandKristen.org
December 29, 2008 at 10:21 am
HAHA I’ll take the news with a grain of salt. Though I do wish it! I dun mind waiting actually…
I love the dream sequence when ‘Let Me Sign’ comes on.
“Standin by a broken tree ,Has her hands twisted
She’s pointing at me
I was dammed by light comin
All over I see
She spoke with a voice that
struck at the sky
She said hold on lover
Yeah! it’s a bitter shame
I’ll wrap you in my arms
if only you say
Let me sign
Let me sign
OHH the way Rob sings it (he didn’t write the song his friends did-this song is actually unfinished). Let me sign what? – A contract of love and devotion for all eternity! haha that’s my take.
December 29, 2008 at 10:53 am
ahahaha. I sat at Row I yesterday in lido 2. But i got so annoyed because phones were ringing. So today i’m still at Row M
December 29, 2008 at 12:44 pm
@bessy
yes! you can order and get stuff delivered when you buy from amazon! my bf has been doing this for years! he buys his dvds, his drawing books, my cookbooks (nigella, jamie oliver)etc. etc. all from amazon!
and my bf just ordered the 4 books box set (hardcover) for me from there and its already on the way! so exciting! can’t wait to re-read the books again!!!! (i borrowed the books from a friend the first time round)
kinokuniya selling about $150 whereas i bought it for only about $90 including shipping! so its really much cheaper!
oh! my bf said don’t buy from amazon using singapore vpost as it is more expensive…buy it directly from amazon website.
so do look out for the dvd release in US and go order from amazon! however, judging from the success and the popularity of this show, i’m sure there is gonna be a waiting list for the dvd
don’t forget to update it here on the website
i wasn’t in singapore during the telecase of the making of twilight….and since i didn’t see it on 8 days, i assume it wasn’t on! sighz…
@elle78
from what i know, kristen stewart has been dating this guy for the past 4 years…can’t remember his name….it would be nice to see them together….but i also wouldn’t want to see a long standing r/s breakup because of this movie…..hmmm….dilemma….hahaha….
i also never have been so obsessed over a movie before…the last time i was this “crazy” was high school musical and hairspray…mainly becoz of zac efron…hahaha….my bf called me a pedophile at that time, well he was terribly young as compared to me…..oh well, i grew out of that pretty fast….but this twilight thing? its still hanging around….and my bf is always so exasperated whenever he sees me on a twilight related website…., he would go “twilight AGAIN?!” but at least he’s still quite patient…haha…and he even bought me the twilight saga hardcover box set as one of my x’mas present…
December 29, 2008 at 2:47 pm
hey hey, i just came back from a screening of twilight….and wat can i say, im even more in love with it! *sigh*…..
hehe, i also like saw a few stuff…like when they were playing baseball and both edward and emmett were like trying to catch the ball at the same time then they kinda crashed into each other, then edward was like giving emmett the middle finger? haha, did anyone see that?
love the scene and edward’s expression when he was like hearing mike talking to bella about the prom…at first he was just sulking and staring…then after hearing bella turn him down, he was like laughing a very cheeky smile…oooohhhhh so cute!
then the scene where edward was playing the piano and bella was like lounging on the sofa or something, the scene looked so sexy, so intimate, like a pair of lovers enjoying each other’s company without a care in the world…..(how i wish i was her and edward was playing the piano for me…)
oh, and does anyone realise that angela’s complexion is like kinda white and pasty? dunno why they try to make her look fair cos she is also not one of the cullens….
and i really, really love it when edward gives bella the half smile, or maybe its a smirk, but it looks something impish….and oohhhh, i drowning in loveeee….and i love the little dimple in the middle of his chin.
actually, comparing robert in harry potter and twilight, i must say that he has matured and he looks so manly and charming now…..*sigh*
love, love, love the movie….must get the dvd….hey do you think we can like organise a MO for the dvd when they release it in the US?
December 29, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Aww he’s soo nice! Make him read Twilight lah. So he knows where your coming from.
Ya amazon is kewl. I get my stuff from them as well cos buying retail in the US charges sales tax so buying from net no tax!
WOOHOOOOO I just Rob & Kristen on mTV news!
December 29, 2008 at 4:20 pm
@ Maria: Anyways, I love the focus and off-focusing of Mike’s face from Bella’s view when Mike came to ask her to the prom.
And it’s involving Edward so don’t brush me off. Heh. Anyway it was only funny the first few times. And I only like the line, “Look at j00 huh? You’re aliiiiiiiive!”
BLAH BLAH BLAH I DON’T LIKE THAT SCENE. Because there is an inconsistency with that scene!
Bella: You’re not gonna eat? (I can’t remember the exact words for this line)
Edward: No I’m on a special diet.
Bella: You gotta give me some answers.
Edward: Yes, no. To get to the other side, 1.77245–
Bella: I don’t want to know what the square root of pi is.
Edward: You knew that?
Bella: How did you know where I was? (She said it more like a statement.)
Edward: I didn’t.
Bella: Okay. *gets up to go*
Edward: What, don’t leave.
*HEART MELTS*
Bella: Did you follow me?
Edward: I feel very protective of you.
Bella: So you followed me.
Edward: I was planning to keep a distance unless you needed my help and then I heard what those EH I DON’T KNOW WHAT HE EXACTLY SAID HERE. BOO.
Bella: Wait, you said you heard what they were thinking? So, what, you read minds?
Edward: I can read every mind in this room – apart from yours.
AS THEY SAY, THE REST IS HISTORY.
@ Elle78: Lol, nah, trust me, they are not together. You can hope for as long as you want. I’ve been following the news since last year. There is so much chemistry between them, and as we all know about the infamous love scene on Catherine’s bed that got Rob the job, but there’s definitely nothing going on between the two of them. If you’ve heard and read all the interviews, you can tell Kristen has no feelings for Rob.
Any article recently that has claimed that they are together can’t be trusted. You must be smart as a Twilighter too okay.
A lot of media is out there preying on us, and they’re willing to write anything to make their site get more hits, even if it means fabricating stories. So don’t easily put your faith in any article.
Anyway, the guy owlet was referring to is Michael Angarano (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Angarano).
then edward was like giving emmett the middle finger? haha, did anyone see that?
LOL NO THAT ISN’T A MIDDLE FINGER! Edward lightly slapped Emmett’s leg and said, “What are you doing?” His British accent was somewhat strong there plus he was laughing so it didn’t come out clearly, and Emmett punched Edward in the arm and said, “Come on.”
actually, comparing robert in harry potter and twilight, i must say that he has matured and he looks so manly and charming now…..*sigh*
Of course! He was playing a high school kid in HP! And that was two years ago. Two years does a lot of stuff to a person. Two years made him somewhat broke haha, and he was probably living off his HP paycheck since then. But you can’t really compare, because Cedric Diggory is nothing like Edward Cullen.
@ owlet: REALLY? OMG MARIA I THOUGHT AMAZON DOESN’T SHIP TO SINGAPORE! IF I KNEW IT SHIPPED HERE THEN I WOULD HAVE PREORDERED THE CULLEN CREST JEWELLERY OMG I’M CRYING SO HARD NOW.
IT’S SO EXPENSIVE NOW I FEEL LIKE DYING.

By the way, yeah, what Aishah said is true. There’s this acoustic version of ‘Decode’ which one could download when they booked advanced tickets for Twilight in the US from Fandango, I think. There was like this code thing.
AISHAH YOU DIDN’T MENTION THAT I LOVE ’15 STEP’. RAWR. Radiohead is awesome mmkay?
Also, Catherine once said that they wanted to use ‘On the Night My Love Broke Through’ by Cold War Kids, but couldn’t find any suitable place to put it in for the movie, so they took it out, sadly.
If you look at the credits, there are also two songs. One is ‘The Cat’s Meow’ by Adam Smalley and Scott Johnson and another one is ‘Nature Within Us’ by Paul Meaney. The former is the song that was playing on Waylon Forges’ radio before he got devoured by the nomads, and I am 99% sure that ‘Nature Within Us’ was the flute-like sounds that we heard when Bella bought the book about Quileutes from the bookstore. It goes on in the background at the same time as when the bookseller says, “Here you go.”
Also, ‘Spotlight’ will be included in MuteMath’s album that’s coming out spring 2009. I know that isn’t remotely related, but I love the song.
YOU GUYS SHOULD GO BUY THE SCORE! IT’S SO FABULOUS.
December 29, 2008 at 5:05 pm
@Elle78 Did you kinow the scene where Edward crashed with Emmett midair was Robert’s idea. He said in an interview that he wanted it to be like a scene in Alexander where some horses and elephants crashed at eachother in a battle scene! Its awesome to seeing actors ideas on screen. future director?! NAH! Robert? I dunno I can hope! HAHA
Digressing:
Uodate someone saw Robert and 2 friends walking in Covent Garden yesterday. This girl told her friend (who was crazy about him). She recognized him and he acknowledged with a smile. So this girl waves and smiled at him back! Coolness! I love it! Its great that this girl didn’t jumped on him and stuff and respected Robert’s privacy.
December 29, 2008 at 5:40 pm
the link you guys gave me for the score of bella’s lullaby is simply not enough for me! so i went to amazon and ordered the score for the movie twilight….hehe…
- bessy (did you buy the score?)
@profit2829
not sure if you were “talking” to me…but getting my bf to read twilight? no chance…he doesn’t enjoy reading like i do….
anyways, i rather it be me to be obsessed one, its gonna weird me out if my bf gets all crazy over this too…hahaha…
btw…not sure if you guys know, rob recently cut his hair again…real short this time. now they are saying if it will grow fast enough when they start filming next march. he said in an interview previously that once he heard that his hair became a trademark, it is time to cut it…sighz…i really like his hair in twilight….
December 29, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Haha yah Owlet! CosI was tghinking of this guy whose girlfriend was crazy about Twilight. Then decided to read the books… It was soo sweet!! He then proposed to her with a replica of Bella’s wedding ring on the a bed similar to the one in Eclipse or was it Breaking Dawn. I think it went like that.
Edward is a real gentleman that’s why we love him so much.
Okay I am digressing..SORRY!
Just lookout for Robert on Ellen’s show. Details on mainpage! Don’t say we didn’t tell you!
December 29, 2008 at 7:47 pm
@ Maria: AH I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THAT! That’s so cute. You know I read one interview of ‘How To Be’s director, and he said that when they were doing rehearsals, Rob always improvised on his lines because he couldn’t remember them very well, but they liked the improvisations.
Nah I don’t think Rob will become a director. He’s definitely the kind who would want to immerse himself in the story and character rather than to direct the flow of the movie.
AND I WOULDN’T JUMP ON HIM TOO IF I SAW HIM.
…if, that is.
@ owlet: OH MY EDWARD I AM SO HURT.
You don’t read our site very often, do you? I’d posted about Rob’s haircut a while back here: http://twilightsingapore.com/2008/12/23/twilight-news-141/. Anyway, I don’t mean it in any offensive way, but in my opinion, if you are a true Rob fan, you will like his hair any way. He looks so cute with his short crop now.
Anyway, now that his hair is so short, there are only two choices if his hair doesn’t grow fast enough:
- Wear a stupid wig.
- Film his scenes towards the end. After all, Edward’s mostly MIA in New Moon.
Okay you know there’s only one option.
Nope I didn’t buy the score, but I’ve heard it a lot. It’s so great. Carter Burwell is a talented composer. Movie scores are important – it creates the feel. Look at ‘The Dark Knight’. The movie is so awesome because the score is equally good.
December 29, 2008 at 7:59 pm
@ Maria: …it’s Eclipse lah, auntie. Breaking Dawn they got married in the second chapter or so already! He proposed to her with the exact same lines Edward said in the book. It was a story featured on Twilight Guy’s website.
To be honest, Edward is not a gentleman! He’s possessive, dense and both selfish and unselfish in the wrong ways.
BUT HE’S SWEET ALL THE SAME.
Rereading New Moon now.
But I’m not crying. It’s much better.
December 29, 2008 at 8:03 pm
I choose to think so Bessy so don’t ruin it for me please.
December 29, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Hi all,
i’m new here. so HELLO EVERYBODY.

i watched it 3 times on the big screen (and i’m refraining from more.) and i’m still left speechless (call me crazy).
amazingly, there were a lot of guys in the theatre too. hehe.
the book does make sense now (as in visually) as i can relate the movie to some parts of the book.
i believe they cut some parts of the book, but who cares rite? how can you be so detailed when they can only have juz 2 hrs to work on from print to screen.hehe.
it’s “sinful” too, how can they live in a world of beautiful people!??hahaha.
my favourite scene, is the meadow scene. full of sincerity and emotion.
i can’t stop blabbering now so i should end this comment with these words:
I-SO-CAN’T-WAIT-FOR-NEW-MOON-NEXT-YEAR!!!
P/S:Big fan of Robert should youtube “Little Ashes” and just witness how talented this young one is. (but i can bet some of you big fans already have done so)
Happy New Year people!
XoXo
December 29, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Bessy : Awww, really…made me happy for nothing….really thought they belong together…will keep my fingers crossed cos there are 3 more movies to come.
Profit : Wow, i didnt know he was so creative! he can act, model, write songs, play the piano, sing and now directing? now im really totally, irrevocably and unconditionally in LOVE with him!
anyways, i didnt watch HP and dun plan on watching it either…think Robert(Edward) looks the best now…haha, he is supposed to like cannot age, rite? cos he is supposed to be like 17 forever….wonder how he is gonna do it?
December 29, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Nad : Hi, hi, its good to know that there another person out there who are as crazy as us!…hehe, me saw the movie 3 times also *wink* *wink*
December 29, 2008 at 9:38 pm
@ Maria: Heehee okay, I shall leave you alone in your Dreamlalalalaland.
@ Nad: YAY. HI AND WELCOME TO TWILIGHT SINGAPORE, THIS IS A COVEN FOR ALL SINGAPOREAN TWILIGHTERS K. YOU CAN COME HERE AND RANT AND THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WOULD THINK YOU’RE CRAZY IS THE OCCASIONAL STRANGER WHO COMES HERE. TRUST MOI. And don’t refrain from watching more! We have a stubs and Q&A contest and you should take part: http://twilightsingapore.com/2008/12/28/twilight-movie-stubs-and-qa-contest/!
Yeah, saw his ‘Little Ashes’ trailer a long time ago. I just think it’s kind of like a pity he got famous only because of a teenage film like ‘Twilight’ and there are some shallow fans out there who love him only because of his good looks and can’t appreciate his true talent, but oh well.
@ Elle78: Technically it’s only two more movies. When the cast signed on for the movie, they did so early 2008 (it’s only 3 more days to 2009 can you believe it?) and Breaking Dawn wasn’t out then, yet, so it made sense to only sign on for the remaining books. Like I said, Kristen has two years to realize she’s in love with Rob.
And, eh, no, Rob can’t model. It’s a fact. He himself admitted it but anyway I’m a complete fashion buff and to be honest, he could have made it big in the music industry but definitely not the modelling one. He looks like a model that’s all, because he has the whole chiselled jaw package, but nah, not modelling.
And I can bet with you Rob won’t go into directing.
YOU MUST RESEARCH MORE ON HIM OKAY. Don’t love him just because he’s good-looking. Go read up on him and watch his interviews. He’s a very mature kid. Mature, because he has an old soul, but kid because he’s still a little shy. I feel like his BFF now.
Actually I don’t like to say he’s ‘good-looking’, ‘attractive’, ‘handsome’, ‘gorgeous’ etc. He mentioned once that he feels insecure when people praise him. Thus, I shan’t say he’s ‘hot’. But he definitely can’t deny the fact that he’s sexy.
And since you didn’t watch HP, then all the more you shouldn’t compare! He’s so different now.
he is supposed to like cannot age, rite? cos he is supposed to be like 17 forever….wonder how he is gonna do it?
There have been rumours that Summit might be filming New Moon and Eclipse back to back, but it’s not confirmed yet. And I hope they don’t do that. It’s definitely tiring and will wear out our beloved cast, and might be rushing and meet with complications.
ANYWAY, HE CAN EASILY HELP US BY NOT SMOKING AND DRINKING LESS. DUH. I wish I could confiscate all his cigarettes and lighters. Le sigh.
December 29, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Hey Bessy,
Trust me i have been like on the web researching on him, kristen and all things twilight…i won’t say he is gorgeous lah, more like sexy, yah, he has sexy eyes and he is like sexy unintentionally, which i really like…unlike some other moviestar who try so hard to be sexy.
think he is drinking and smoking more cos maybe he is not used to this fame thing yet so it maybe a little bit overwhelming…see him at interviews where so many fans are screaming at him makes him uncomfortable and lose concentration. think it also applies to kristen, read somewhere that she is actually smoking pot!!! hope its not true though cos it will be so sad…
and how are they going to condense 2 books into a 2-hr long film? 1 hr each? cannot lah, then the whole essence of the story will be lost…oh, that reminds me, actually i was thinking, how come when bella went to his house and turn on his cd player to see wat he was listening, it was the Debussy song. It was supposed to be in the car according to the book and bella actually explained that she recognise the song cos her mum always play it…thought they could have like included that in the dialogue to show more affinity between them, like show they are soulmates for each…well, thats wat moi feels though..
December 30, 2008 at 12:20 am
@Bessy (Re: #118): I was trying to be funny about the ‘that’s what she said’ thing. It’s a hobby of mine, usuing stuff like that at the most inappropriate moments (or in grammatically ambiguous statements, as in xkcd: http://www.xkcd.com/174/ ). Sorry for late reply though. Was away in Hong Kong.
Speaking of Hong Kong, I had a geek out moment there when I saw the poster for the movie at a bus stop there; even though it was so miniscule compared to the advertisements they had for nokia and dure- uh, nevermind. I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of it, however, as my camera died on me that day (Can you believe my stupid luck?!). Oh and I saw the trailer of it flashing by at their 7-eleven. But it was too loud for me to hear the Cantonese subbing to judge if they did a good job.
December 30, 2008 at 12:38 am
@ Elle78: If you have been researching correctly then you would have known that 1. Rob smoked and drank even before Twilight pounced onto him; 2. there is actual concrete proof, not just articles, that Kristen was smoking pot that day, except that the pipe she was using didn’t look very clear, but it’s pretty much like what people use when they smoke pot.
When I said filming it back to back, doesn’t mean they’ll release New Moon and Eclipse in one movie. *facepalm* Filming it back to back means, they’ll film both NM and Eclipse together, without any breaks in between, but it’s up to the studio when they want to release the films. Anyway it’s only a rumour and I doubt its authenticity.
how come when bella went to his house and turn on his cd player to see wat he was listening, it was the Debussy song.
Because the movie has been shortened! Simple. It’s just like asking me how come Edward and Bella didn’t have the Confessions scene by itself, instead, one fine day after school the vampire and the human simply walked off into the forest? Or why did the vampires play baseball on Saturday instead of Sunday, like in the book?
thought they could have like included that in the dialogue to show more affinity between them, like show they are soulmates for each…
Anyway, Renee is not Bella’s soulmate. Edward is Bella’s soulmate. Renee was Bella’s best friend only. Unless you’re referring to Edward being Bella’s soulmate well then, it’s obvious enough already to show that they share the same taste. How many people would actually know who Debussy is, lest to name the track?
Edward: It’s uh Debussy… I don’t know.
Bella: Clair de Lune’s great.
@ Winter Raven: OH GOOD! ROFL. I was so afraid you might take offense. And that’s awesome, we can be best friends, BECAUSE I LOVE xkcd TOO OMG. And I’m trying to imagine Bella and Edward conversing in Cantonese.
Bella: Ngo ji dou lei hai mat ye. (I know what you are.)
Edward: Lei gong ah. Gong dai sang di. Gong ah. (Say it. Out loud. Say it.)
Bella: Sek shiud kwai. (I literally said ‘sek’, which is like Cantonese for ‘eating’) (Vampire.)
Edward: Lei ging moh? (Are you afraid?)
Bella: Mm wui. (No.)
HAHA THIS IS SO FUN TRANSLATING.
December 30, 2008 at 1:11 am
Bessy,
Im new to the twilight obesession thing lah so there might be some things that i dun know (though i may be online 24/7) And yes, I think I’m guilty of believing everything they post cos im like so desperate to find out more..whether about twilight or robert and kristen. (and since i feel that robert and kristen should be together so any news of them together, i want to believe…i know it sounds desperate…)
but the most important thing is, i still love twilight and everything about twilight.
So hope I didnt offend you cos u sounded a tad bit frustrated there…:)
December 30, 2008 at 12:18 pm
hi..
i’m not sure where to post this on…so do pardon me for posting it up on the movie discussion forum…
anyways, i was just wondering if you guys read the draft version of midnight sun on stephenie meyer’s website and what do you think of it? i’m sure some of you may have and been “talking” abt it on this forum already…..but being new and not really consistent with visiting this website regularly, i don’t see that posting…
i just finished reading it last night…super speed reading actually….and just wonderng what you guys thought of it…and if you feel that stephenie meyer should have continued writing it (though she has claimed that she has stopped).
December 30, 2008 at 1:27 pm
@bessy
hmm…i’m more of a fan of the story rather than the actors/ actresses. but of course i would be terribly disappointed should any of them be replaced. cos after their casting in the original twilight, any substitution will just not be good enough. do you agree?
though of course i do not really bother if rob has long or short hair lah…most important like i said above, as long as the original cast remains till the end of this movie franchise…
anyways, i heard that they may or may not make a movie of breaking dawn due to the story’s complexity (1. how shld they portray the love making scene bet edward and bella when it is a young adult movie. 2. how shld they portray the bloody childbirth which bella goes through as it may terrify young girls that pregnancy is a scary thing and 3. where to find a baby who can portray reneesme’s intelligence) And also it is impossible to make it in one movie. they may have to split it into 2 parts just like what they are doing for harry potter 7.
i do hope that they will make breaking dawn into a movie, at least it will be more complete. but they may just end it with eclipse…if so, i hope they will include their wedding as the finale….than the story is complete….haha…i’m just a sucker for happy happy endings….before i read any book, i always look at the endings to make sure its a happy ending before i borrowed it (even my bf can’t tahan me!)
December 30, 2008 at 1:36 pm
thanks for the great hospitality people!
let me share wif you something..
long time ago, i was watching HP with my bf and I saw Cedric (RP) and i told my bf that Cedric is sooo cute that I bet he’s going to turn out to be a hottie someday.
OH GOSH AND LOOK WHAT RP HAS GROWN INTO.even more talented!haha.
i have a feeling my gfs will be asking me to watch the movie with them.
so i’m going for my forth round! hahaha.
i watch it with different grps of people actually and they ask me to be their personal “translator”/ “narrator”, etc. i don’t mind.
i’m glad i found a place with ppl of the same interest as me, coz all this while, no frens of mine bothers abt twilight! damn!
haha.
so yeah….m looking forward to New Moon – the Edward’s reappearance in Italy! and Bella’s jumping off the cliff!
And i’m pretty excited abt who’s going to play Aro.
Cillian Murphy anyone?
December 30, 2008 at 3:12 pm
owlet: haha, same as me!!! i also like to peek at the last chapter before i start reading….(high five!) thats why after reading twilight and new moon, i actually started on BD before Eclipse….haha..
and i would love to read Midnight Sun, that is if SM actually finish writing it…its such a pity thought, to leave it like it is…
December 30, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Owlet, i’ve read Midnight Sun and I think it’s pretty interesting.
I thought it’s going to be like repetitive thing but it’s more intense than I thought.
I’m quite sad coz Stephanie may not want to continue with the project coz some “smart alex” went to post her draft w/o her permission and she’s pretty upset abt it.
Lets hope she will continue.
If not, perhaps we fans can write her a letter to give her support.
I mean…coming from fans all over the world and esp all the way from SG, i think she’ll be pleased.
December 30, 2008 at 3:18 pm
@Nad
hey! cillian murphy would be a great choice…i was thinking of paul bettany…what you think?
actually, i read somewhere that they are looking at ben barnes to play aro, that guy from chronicles of narnia – prince caspian….well, i’m not entirely sure about that choice…he doesn’t exactly have the frail/ pale look…if you know what i mean…
but like i said previously, i’m abit half-hearted about new moon, coz edward is mostly MIA in this story! haha…but i did read that this new director is keen to add in more edward scenes though he’s practically non-existent other than his voice that bella keeps hearing when she engages in dangerous “stunts”. so it will be interesting to see how is he going to accomplish that.
@elle78
go read the draft of the midnight sun from stephenie meyer website, it can be downloaded on adobe…
it’s a pity that she is not continuing with midnight sun…but sometimes i wonder if it is just a bluff, whereby she is writing it secretly so that no one will try to expose it till she is done with it…haha…well, can’t stop from being hopeful right?
after reading midnight sun, i agree that it seems more intense than twilight…edward’s feelings were much more intense for bella than vice versa and it made me think that edward fell in love with bella before she did with him……and we can really understand edward’s struggle to be with bella or to go away etc….
December 30, 2008 at 4:42 pm
i’m contemplating whether to watch twilight for the 4th time tonight….hmmmm….
December 30, 2008 at 4:43 pm
hey Owlet!

i think paul bettany wd b good too but his sort of “evil” look works well for Caius in Breaking Dawn part too, don’t you think? *thinks*
I do have another guy in mind for Aro too! How about that Lestat guy from Queen of the Damned?? damn… he’s quite something…..
don’t make me say Johnny Depp although I would love it to be possible, than the obvious, impossible. hmmmm…. (err..impossible).
well, for New Moon, what we read is from Bella’s perspective so i guess the movie will bring in more of Edward from his side too, if they want to (and lets pray they will. hehe.).
pretty interesting to know what he does while he is away from Bella.
and the “Edward’s voices” in Bella’s head?
i m excited to see how they will visualize that for us.
New Moon’s my favourite so far, i hope it will be the best in the movie too!
XOXO
~Nad
December 30, 2008 at 11:54 pm
@ Elle78: Haha, no, I’m not frustrated. I’m a very straightforward person, if you don’t mind me. I tend to offend people quite often. Don’t worry.
@ owlet: but of course i would be terribly disappointed should any of them be replaced. cos after their casting in the original twilight, any substitution will just not be good enough. do you agree?
YES, ABSOLUTELY. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh please no Michael Copon. I haven’t seen his acting yet, so I am actually not in a position to judge, but I have read from more than 5 sites that tell me he’s not a good actor. And it’s 5 sites, not 5 people. As much as I don’t like Jacob, come on, we need good actors to portray our characters and make it a worthy movie!
i do hope that they will make breaking dawn into a movie, at least it will be more complete. but they may just end it with eclipse…if so, i hope they will include their wedding as the finale….than the story is complete….
I agree.
but sometimes i wonder if it is just a bluff, whereby she is writing it secretly so that no one will try to expose it till she is done with it…haha…well, can’t stop from being hopeful right?
ME TOO. ROFL. But I don’t want to doubt her, so, if she’s really continuing her writing now and wants to spring a surprise on us in the future, I don’t mind. It’s just that I actually don’t mind that she’s off Midnight Sun at the moment. First, I can’t really blame her for stopping it. Second, I don’t actually blame the person who leaked it.
Third, I’d rather SMeyer pause writing, wait a few months, even years to get back into being under Edward’s skin properly and then continue and finish up the project. I mean, you all should know that Jacob is her favourite character, right? Maybe for all you know, this leakage did some good. I was beginning to worry that she had started neglecting Edward already.
[SPOILER FOR BREAKING DAWN!]
Look at how she’d written off Edward in BD. There was no father-daughter love between Edward and Renesmee! It was just Bella, Renesmee, Jacob. Seriously, what the hell?
[/SPOILER]
So I’m thinking that this leak is actually good. Give her some time to return to the pre-Jacob era and start writing out Edward’s POV properly and nicely.
it made me think that edward fell in love with bella before she did with him……
He did! Didn’t he?
Oh yes you should watch Twilight again.
December 31, 2008 at 12:07 am
And, unfortunately, as much as I dislike New Moon, I fervently hope that the writers and director won’t screw it up. I don’t want them to alter the story so much just so that Edward gets too much screen time, more than he rightfully deserves. By “rightfully”, I define it as “10% more than how many scenes he appear in in the book”. I don’t want them messing it up just to please Team Edward fans.
In fact, if Jacob does not get his appropriate amount of onscreen time, I’ll feel upset. Movies should be trying to stay true to the books in their essence, and not extracting out or putting in additional stuff to satisfy the mass majority.
Melissa Rosenberg has reportedly said that she has found a method to give Edward more time onscreen. I’m worried over what the method is. In fact, she says the method will make both Team Edward and Team Jacob fans happy, but I’m really not going to place my trust anywhere until I see concrete evidence that the so-called method works.
@ Nad: I actually hope they don’t bring in mainstream actors. That’s how Twilight became a success. Catherine casted little known and less famous people. Why? Because actors who have already made a name for themselves most likely have an image attached to them already. For example, Zac Efron is just the guy from HSM. Or Johnny Depp is Captain Jack Sparrow. Ben Barnes is Prince Caspian.
I know we all know they are actors, but there is just this impression lingering on. When the people in the movie were casted, we didn’t know who they were, mostly. Thus, we could honestly compare them to the respective characters they were playing. E.g. Kellan Lutz looks so much like what Emmett probably would. If they’d casted Tom Welling for Emmett, I would keep thinking Emmett = Superman!
Ergo, I hope they’ll do the same with the Volturi for New Moon. New faces.
December 31, 2008 at 12:18 am
Nad : haha, i cannot imagine Johnny Depp as a vampire leh….but he is also quite sexy too!
Bessy : Ya, I agree with you that they should cast some relative unknowns so that there is no like mental image attached.
Owlet : Yup, I have read Midnight Sun already…and it really shows the intensity of Edward’s feelings for Bella, whether is it hating her(cos she made him desire her so much that he almost broke his self-control) or loving her.
The readon why among the 4 books I like NM the least was becos Edward left Bella! So sad and heartbreaking! Im definitely Team Edward so I cannot imagine Bella with Jacob. So i dunno how the whole movie is going to be like. But of course, I will definitely go and watch it.
Actually, Im more curious of how BD will turn out to be cos I think its one of the more complex book in the series. I would love to see how Isle Esme is, how are they going to film the swimming in the sea scene, how are they going to make Kristen look pregnant with a huge tummy (considering she is like so skinny!), how are they going on their first hunt….whoa, so many things i want to see!
I dunno why some people say they wouldnt want to see BD become a movie cos i feel all 4 books should be made into a movie, like to complete the whole story….well, thats my opinion though…:)
December 31, 2008 at 12:52 am
@ Bessy: I would love to see new faces. They deserve the job for all their hard work in this entertainment business.
I’m still waiting for Tom Sturidge to come out as ANY character of the Twilight Series! Or maybe a couple of actors that those Stephenie liked. Like Henry Cavill, Steven Strait, Rachel Leigh Cook etc.. The movie would turn out great! Maybe they’ll be part of the Volturi guard? Just a suggestion…
December 31, 2008 at 12:59 am
@ AISHAH: EH YOU STOP YOUR TOM STURRIDGE OBSESSION ROFL *CAN’T STOP LAUGHING* SEE I EVEN TYPED YOUR NAME IN CAPS BECAUSE I AM LAUGHING SO HARD RIGHT NOW OK YEAH WELL IF TOM STURRIDGE BECOMES ARO I WILL DIEEEEEEEEEEE I TELL YOU OMG
*is dead*
December 31, 2008 at 2:10 am
*revives*
@ Elle78: I dunno why some people say they wouldnt want to see BD become a movie cos i feel all 4 books should be made into a movie, like to complete the whole story….
Personally I feel that way too, that it should be made into a movie too, but BD was, sry2say, a pretty screwed story actually. I don’t know if it’s because SMeyer added in too much details that she forgot to look from every character’s POV and thus messed up the story.
Also, like owlet had mentioned earlier:
And those are just but a few difficulties. I believe there are many more minor ones lingering beneath the surface. And I believe, too, that if BD is going to be made into a movie, it will be almost impossible to avoid the NC17 rating in the US, and possibly M18 for Singapore.
…Lol I’ve just realized that I enjoy splitting my comments/replies into two parts. Premature BD symptoms.
December 31, 2008 at 2:14 am
AHHH! I Love Tom Stu!
@ Bessy: I’ve got a sore throat from yesterday’s talking and squealing LOL
December 31, 2008 at 10:42 am
yes…i did go watch twilight last night…(strictly my 4th and final time). haha…i just need my books to arrive so that i can take the attention off the movie and back to reading the books again.
i too would like to see relatively new faces or actors whom are not too well-known as the new characters in the subsequent movies and not those mainstream actors whereby we would already have a preconceived image of their previous persona of other characters.
there are many other reasons why breaking dawn should not be made into a movie and the reasons are available on the internet. just google “why breakding dawn should not be made into a movie” and you get all the websites talking abt it…though i suspect some are actually repetitive.
@bessy
hey! now that you mentioned it, it does seems that edward was quite neglected in BD! i was like “struggling” thru reading those chapters written in jacob’s perspective…i’m like why on earth don’t write in edwards’s perspective on what he is feeling for bella and the pain both he and she are going thru???!!! now i know why! coz jacob is stephenie’s favourite character! (i didn’t know this until i read what you wrote!) how come? really? she actually mentioned it????!!!
this is an edward and bella story from beginning till end….but seems that BD became more of a jacob and bella story….new moon was enough….BD also…sighz…
i did read at quite a few places that the critics did not really give BD a good review…i do agree with you also that there were alot of things happening in BD…(ie the wedding, honeymoon, pregnancy, jacob’s perspective, birth of baby, bella’s experience as a vampire, gathering of the witnesses and the final showdown…) so many things happening! its no wonder it can’t be squeezed into one movie as well…
anyways, it was still a good read….no matter what…haha…
so i do agree with you that its good she is taking a break…so that she can get her perspective right again…that this is a edward and bella story….NOT JACOB!!! (no offense to jacob fans)
on one hand, i feel that its good for us fans as well, for us to calm down from all this hype and excitment from the first 4 books written in bella’s perspective and if and when midnight sun is published, we will also be ready to take another journey in edward’s perspective afresh!
@elle78
as you can read above, like you, new moon is my LEAST favourite book of all….i think my favourite would be a tough one to choose between twilight and eclipse…
December 31, 2008 at 11:46 am
@ Tasha: LOL. THEN DON’T SCREAM LATER OK.
@ owlet: WHY YOUR LAST TIME!!!!! WE DON’T HAVE THIS – http://twilightsingapore.com/2008/12/28/twilight-movie-stubs-and-qa-contest/ – FOR NOTHING!!!!
i was like “struggling” thru reading those chapters written in jacob’s perspective…i’m like why on earth don’t write in edwards’s perspective on what he is feeling for bella and the pain both he and she are going thru???!!!
No, actually I don’t mind that she wrote from Jacob’s POV in BD, even though I dislike him. You see, if she’d written from Bella’s POV, all Bella did was to lie there in pain daily. If she’s written from Edward’s POV, it’d be like the same as Bella, minus the pregnancy. Jacob had a clear head during that time. The rest of the Cullens were taking care of Bella. Plus, when we read through Jacob’s POV, I actually understood his love for Bella.
And, on a plus side, through Jacob’s eyes we managed to learn about werewolves – or, more accurately, shape-shifters – and their own background. We managed to judge Sam and the rest of the pack more clearly.
she actually mentioned it????!!!
I saw it a few times on her website, but I can’t exactly remember where she wrote right out that Jacob is her favourite, but I managed to find this excerpt:
From http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/nm_thestory.html
its no wonder it can’t be squeezed into one movie as well…
If Catherine and Melissa both have a hard time compressing a 400ish-page book like Twilight into a movie, lest one that is double that. Sigh.
December 31, 2008 at 2:22 pm
well it’s true. we shud not put in mainstream actors.
P/S:anybody watched The Bad Mother’s Handbook? RP HILARIOUS!
December 31, 2008 at 6:46 pm

January 3, 2009 at 12:05 am
HI ALL, I’M BACK FROM CAMP, I HOPE YOU GUYS MISSED ME. IF YOU SAY NO, THEN I SHAN’T UPDATE TWILIGHT SINGAPORE ANYMORE ROFL OK KIDDING.
I brought my Twilight mug for the camp and had about five people fighting over it. One of my seniors even insulted me, saying: “WHERE DID YOU BUY IT FROM!??!!?!!??!”
…
Anyway, we had this 4-hour workshop on the first day and the faci for my group laid out all these cards on the floor and on each card, a quality is written on it. She asked us to pick the quality that we liked best. I chose “different”. Later, my senior came over and she said:
OMG SO CUTE RIGHT! That senior is SK, who volunteered for the Soiree for those of you who know. Noel is a girl btw. Heh.
Later, at night we were all preparing to get back to our bunks and SK quoted:
And I replied her, “No, I don’t sleep./Ever?/No, not at all.” SO CUTE RIGHTAZKB124987182OHRADNAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a second workshop too, and SK sat behind me, and I quoted from Mr Molina from the first Biology lesson, “Here, I’ve got a seat for you.”
Earlier this morning, we woke up at 0300 to go for a hike in the dead of the night. From Clementi all the way to almost Mount Faber. So we were pretty tired and bored so we entertained ourselves by reciting the whole scene where we first see the Cullens. It’s so cute! Noel was like going, “Bessy is roleplaying everyone!” I literally was, lol. And then we started noting down our favourite E/B moments and SK and I began singing FBAM.
YAY.
January 4, 2009 at 12:00 am
Who are they?
The Cullens.
Um, they’re Dr and Mrs Cullen’s foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska like, a few years ago.
They kinda keep themselves.
Yeah, cuz they’re all together. Like, together-together. The blonde girl? That’s Rosalie. And the big, dark-haired guy Emmett. They’re kinda like a thing. I’m not even sure that’s legal.
Yes. They’re not actually related.
Yeah but they live together, it’s weird! And, the dark-haired girl’s Alice. She’s really weird. She’s with Jasper, the blonde one who looks like he’s in pain. Dr Cullen’s like this foster dad slash matchmaker.
Maybe he’ll adopt me.
Who’s he?
That’s Edward Cullen. Totally gorgeous obviously, but apparently nobody here’s good enough for me. Like I care, you know.
*Bolded parts are lines SK and I recited together!
January 4, 2009 at 12:06 am
OH MY EDWARD I JUST FREAKED OUT
YOU KNOW I WAS READING TWILIGHT LEXICON’S PERSONAL CORRESPONDANCE #1 AND SMEYER MENTIONED ABOUT THE DENALI SISTERS BEING THE ORIGINAL VAMPIRES BEHIND THE SUCCUBUS MYTHS
SO I WIKI-ED “SUCCUBUS” AND FOUND OUT THAT INCUBI ARE THE SUCCUBI’S MALE COUNTERPARTS
SO I CLICKED ON THE LINK TO “INCUBUS”
AND OH MY EDWARD JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURE ON THE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incubus_(demon)
IT’S EXACTLY THE PHOTO BEING FEATURED IN THE MOVIE OH MY EDWARD I’M FREAKING OUT YOU KNOW THE SCENE WHERE BELLA IS RESEARCHING, AND THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED THAT PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 4, 2009 at 12:38 am
Woah Bessy…
Take it easy with the CAPS LOCK babe.
I saw the pic also over at Wikipedia.
Oh, the irony.. It’s a small world after all.
January 4, 2009 at 3:14 pm
WOO. I’m back!\
@ Nad: You mean the extra we were talking bout in Twilight?
Eh, he’s this ultra cute guy with really curly hair. he’s in almost all the school scenes LOL.
January 4, 2009 at 5:17 pm
Okay after reading about you guys watching The Bad Mother’s Handbook and how funny it was, I watched it on YouTube and it definitely was a good movie especially with Rob in it! He is so cute and awkward! He actually did his “combing his hair” trademark twice in the movie… I think. Haha. But he definitely can act! Can’t get over how cute he was especially during the birthing scene! LOL
January 4, 2009 at 6:18 pm
While I was watching The Bad Mother’s Handbook, I just can’t stop thinking to watch him on ‘How to Be’!
Another misfit trying to be normal. PLUS, I want to see him play the guitar!
It just occurred to me that his hairstyle from The Bad MOther;s Handbook and How To Be are of the same!
Imagine Daniel Gale without the glasses, then you’ll get Art who’s always carrying around a guitar!
January 5, 2009 at 10:11 am
i think the movie was the best movie i ever saw
and when i heard the c.d i was breathless.
i cried at the end of the end of the movie.
oh yea i love you edward when i see you i’m in love.
January 5, 2009 at 9:56 pm
I seriously can’t wait for HOW TO BE. I just checked out the website, and it says, they are gearing for a cinema release in early 2009. But i am not too sure about that =/
Currently, it is being shown in many film festivals.
Yes, Aishah, i watch him sing & play the guitar too.
January 5, 2009 at 11:34 pm
Bessy: WOW! sounds like TWILIGHT camp to me…SO FUN!
and the INCUBUS thing kinda freaked me out. I am a fan of the band Incubus and I was researching on the meaning behind the name INCUBUS and I really freaked out!haha.
Tasha: REALLY ah??Maybe I was distracted. EDWARD (and Jasper) dazzled me. hehe.
I SHUD CHECK IT OUT!
OH…..!So that means, I need to watch the movie again! *whistles*
January 6, 2009 at 12:27 am
hey, can we get a twilight camp as well?…hehe…
January 6, 2009 at 1:00 am
Elle78: You know, that’s a GREAT idea actually… We’ll have to think about it cos there’s so much to plan on it… But it does sound fun!
January 6, 2009 at 10:09 pm
@ Nad: Sounds like… but it wasn’t. All those stuff I told you about took up probably only about a sweet combined total of 45 minutes of the entire camp. Max. The camp lasted from Friday to Saturday, and it started as soon as school ended. 1430 to 1530 the next day. 23 hours. 23 * 60 = 1380 minutes. Time spent without Twilight quotes/memories/love: 1335 minutes.
Oh, what immense torture.
Hey, we could organize a sleepover when the DVD comes out you know! A sleepover lasting from probably 1200 to 1200 the next day. Like, we all gather together at once place, then we make our way to the named person’s house. We eat lunch, watch the movie from 1400 to 1600, play games, eat, have fun, blog, take pictures etc., watch the movie again at 2300 to 0100 the next morning, then we go to sleep, wake up to eat breakfast, watch the movie again, and then we all just leave!
Sounds nice? XD
Or we could like, split the DVD’s lovely stuff into three parts. Like, the movie itself with all the deleted scenes the first time, the movie with commentary and the extra stuff the second time, the movie itself and all the things we *want* to watch the third time.
I’m too meticulous at times.
January 6, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Bessy:Oh…!But at least, you have some TWILIGHT MOMENTS lah huh..haha.
We shud have like… meet ups, ladies!
When will the DVD be out for sale?
I heard there are a few nice bonus features rite?
BTW, I SAW NEW MOON POSTERS ALL ARN SINGAPORE!
PASIR RIS, TAMPINES,BEDOK, SERANGOON, TOWN.
BUT THEN…THEY ARE THE NEW MOON’S CAN FOOD ADS LAH………
Haha. So funny coz suddenly I was thinking of crazy things like NEW MOON sponsoring TWILIGHT RELATED EVENTS.
*bummer*
January 7, 2009 at 4:07 pm

The DVD Set will have TONS of Bonus features like a couple of deleted scenes, some commentary and we’ll even get to see a scene from ‘Midnight Sun’.
January 7, 2009 at 4:51 pm
A sleepover sounds awesome.
You guys could actually stay at my place. But I don’t think we’d actually be sleeping HAHAHA.
@ Bessy: now that school’s started, I uploaded hundreds of Twilight photos and videos (fan vids/interviews) to watch during boring lessons. ESPECIALLY Chinese. Don’t follow my example. HAHAHA. I read Breaking dawn during Chinese class and it nearly got confiscated.
January 7, 2009 at 5:39 pm
@ Nad: You know Nad, you just made me believe you for a while!! God I’m so naive! LOL New Moon can food ads… hilarious!
January 7, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Saw #11 on Jan 5 Monday I think in Century Square! I always wanted to mention this but kept on forgetting – I like how the stuffed white owl was strategically placed behind Edward in the Biology class. In a couple of scenes the wings would jut out behind him and he’d have these angel wings. HAHA Niicee..
Oya at Century Square everyone actually gasped in shocked at the ending when Victoria walked down the staircase releasing her fiery mane! Then the cinema was abuzz…what does that mean?? Sequel?? What?? hehe it was soo cool.
And in the lift I approached 3 girls and asked if they liked the movie and they said they did. I asked if they read the book and they said no but one of them said she will now. Then I asked if they recognised Edward and they said no. Then I told them he was actually Cedric Diggory! And it clicked and they remembered. I wanted to chat more but we were at the carpark and my friend wanted to go. But I did tell them to visit the website…
January 7, 2009 at 8:21 pm
nash:hahaha.i know…!my guy fren was like.. “Eh, New Moon Poster!” then I was like..”What!? Where!” Kena conned!
Profit2829:WOW! I’ve nvr heard of 11 rounds of a movie since TITANIC!
January 7, 2009 at 10:12 pm
@ Nash & Nad: NO, HAHA, actually I thought she was like, seeing New Moon ads all over as in seeing stands promoting the book, and then I rofled when I realized she was talking about Fann Wong and Stephanie Sun’s faces.
my guy fren was like.. “Eh, New Moon Poster!” then I was like..”What!? Where!” Kena conned!
I’m so doing that the next time.
@ Tasha: LOL, YOU LIVE SO FAR AWAY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yeah we probably won’t sleep.
@ Maria: YES I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! AND I ALWAYS NEVER FAIL TO LAUGH AT THE OWL. It’s like, HEY EDWARD HARRY SENT YOU A MESSAGE ASKING YOU TO GO BACK. CEDRIC’S PARENTS HAVE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU. You guys know how snow owls are used in HP as messengers, right? XD And yeah, there’s one particular scene where the wings are directly behind him. So cute.
January 7, 2009 at 11:06 pm
@ Bessy: HAHAHA! Can’t wait for the circle line
We’ll be “nearer” then. Haha!
January 8, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Anyone else noticed Rosalie eating something during a cafetaria scene? Everyone was focused on Edward but I saw her mouth moving. xD Emmett too I think.
January 8, 2009 at 9:41 pm
ANYONE WATCHING OKTO NOW? THEY’RE SHOWING IS IT REAL?: VAMPIRES! ROFL. I literally laughed out loud when I saw all those 1960s film snippets of Dracula and stuff. A preview of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=539xWgHhatM&hl=en&fs=1
January 8, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Bessy:DO IT BESSY! haha.
Cute rite those old vampires movie!;)
January 8, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Okay.I watched Twilight fo the fourth time now..Argh..I hate that minimalistic number!GRRR..since everyones watching it like 20 times already.Or more???!! Grrr..
Anywho I watch Twilight at Shaw today.then went on it again at the next showing.
And I have to say this, the theatre was almost full! I didn’t expect that at all since the outsiders, well “TwilightsNot” have nothing to say to it,and yes, this late weeks b4 closing period,i thot theres just gona be me and a couple of lovey-doveys.But it turned out a lot of bestriends,or girlfriends and women, and man was filling the seats.
And the best part is I can absolutely tell there were no first timers too.Someone mouthed out the scripts.I know I was, but there was someone else was doing it that i actually looked around to see who it is!but, unfortunately,I couldn’t see them.
And yes, there were the first times. The women who sat near me me was cooing when Edward came up, jumped off her seat whenever there something to be shocked about,Closed their face(not eyes!) when James came up,and crying when Edward didn’t bit Bella.I tell you, thats like the best movie experience ever! their reaction meant a lot to me than i could ever expect. Its like watching them is more entertaining.hehehe.And you know,I think thats the right way to react the first time we do it people! MOdel audience was with me this evening! I wonder if we can use them for the premiers for press???/hmm….i wonder…
This made me happy a lot.Tho i have nothing to do with it,but strangely,it made me proud.See,i was really upset with anyone who said bad things about it,and not caring about our feelings at all this blow makes my world perfect again somehow… I’m soo happy!!!!Like seriously!!! Im happy!!! lalalalala…lalalal…laaa!!
And im going to watch it again tommorow!
@BEssy
Hey,thats fuNNY!!!hahahahahha
Hahaha..Cedrics parents sent an owl for Cedric. good one Bessy.Thats funny
@mrs Edward Cullen
Yah,I totally saw that too.I guess she cant resist the fruit anymore.hahaha:)
January 8, 2009 at 11:12 pm
@ Bessy: I like your theory about the owl behind Edward! Its soo funny yet its still realistic! ROFL.
@ GirlInTWiTrance: OH MY! I would LOVE too see people’s reaction when they watch the movie for the first time! Who knew that they too could be soo responsive to the movie? I bet that they are reading the book by now!
January 9, 2009 at 9:58 am
HAHAHAHAHA Bessy! Your owl theory is soo funny that its up there for me with Guillermo’s Bampire! haha Dang it! I’ll be thinking of it when I watch it next..alamak
January 9, 2009 at 11:14 am
Omg, owls will be such a significant part of my childhood from now on.
WATCHING TWILIGHT AGAIN TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!! MEGALOVE.
January 9, 2009 at 11:58 pm
Wow, the cinema was really crowded today. Full house!
WOOOO Everyone laughed when the owl’s wings were on both sides of Edward’s back.
LOL
January 10, 2009 at 9:54 pm
@ Aishah: I brought my friends along who weren’t Twilight fans and when Edward came out, she was squealing all the way! It was an experience! Should have caught it on tape. And now whenever she sees Rob’s picture, she just stops breathing and controlling herself from screaming out loud! LOL
January 11, 2009 at 12:38 am
@ Nash: Hahaha. Obviously she was PATTONIZED by the movie which turned her PATTISFIED and now she’s all PATTZY! We now have a new ROBSSESSED fan on board with the rest of us! HEHEHE…
January 11, 2009 at 12:50 am
@ Aishah: Shit, your vocabulary is overpowering moi.
January 11, 2009 at 9:35 am
Grah, people in the cinema today kept shhing Bessy and me, and staring at us.
AND OME I bought a Subwat cookie and while I was eating it, they showed the scene where Edward threw his food on the table in the cafeteria – AND I REALISED IT WAS A COOKIE!!!!!!!! A choco chip one!
And I ALSO realised that Esme was actually in the scene at the Cullen’s Garage. But all we could of her was her face. maybe Elizabeth Reaser wasn’t available to shoot on that day, so they used a double instead? =O
@ Aishah: HAHA, what about PATTRONIZED? XD
January 11, 2009 at 9:58 pm
haiyah…
why is twilight no longer available in Cathay cinemas?!
so near my house!
January 12, 2009 at 4:13 pm
LOL Tasha have you watched Twilight 15 times already? It sounds like you have!
January 12, 2009 at 9:45 pm
LOL.
I went to watch Twilight with my dad today. And guess what? He really liked it!
He said the funniest thing ever, during the hospital scene with Renee. He said “I think Renee’s a vampire”,in the most confident voice. I couldn’t stop laughing.
He can’t wait to watch NM
And neither can we!!!
January 12, 2009 at 9:47 pm
To answer Mrs Edward Cullen’s question, since Tasha avoided it, I think Tasha is somewhere around that range! LOL.
OH BY THE WAY, PEOPLE, LOOK AT THIS: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090112/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_china_bride_centenarian;_ylt=Arj49X3gvIBtsFWQTUG6nQ1eW7oF

January 15, 2009 at 10:01 pm
@ Tasha: Because nothing about Twilight is a want. Nothing.
EVERYONE, I AM GOING TO SPAM ALL THE PAGES I LIKE WITH THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH:
- Channel 5 has lined up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as one of the movies they’re going to SHOW LATER THIS YEAR OGMDJGBWIUEBFQNROQNQNWD ROB ON TV. IT’S GOING TO BE ROB ON TVVVVVV.
- On the Forbes series that is also on Channel 5, the next episode talks about the 15 richest supermodels and towards the end of the trailer, they showed ASHLEY GREENE YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
January 15, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Melissa made an error with the script. If Edward was from a different time, how would he know how to Google? LMAO.
January 16, 2009 at 5:33 am
@ Mrs Edward Cullen: Well being logical here which I know kinda ruins the mood… haha sorry of I am!
From the day he was turned, he has experienced almost everything historical from WWII, The Vietnam War and the ever growing technology which includes Internet. And being immortal, you gotta blend in and be like the rest of the humans so that you won’t look “weird” around them.
So yeah… apologies if my answer isn’t strong enough to support your question. I suck at debating! hehe
January 16, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Tasha I dun mind having 5 leh…would look nice in my Twilight scrapbook…

January 17, 2009 at 11:21 pm
MOST DEFINITELY!!
WE should have a DVD outing and then later we can have an ‘Alice’ SLUMBER PARTY!!
*imagining the part where Alice “kidnapped” Bella in Eclipse*
January 18, 2009 at 4:45 pm
*still thinking of name for New Moon’s event*
New Moon Festa? ‘Festa’ is Italian for ‘party’!
Italian because, well, the Volturi resides in Italy.

I can’t believe my friend has read Twilight but hasn’t watched the movie yet! :O

@ Nash: Yeah baby. *does the Kristen eyebrow*
By the way, I was watching Shanghai Knights, and I think Aidan Gillen might make a good vampire. I know he’s somewhat mainstream, but he just looks fabulous. He already has a pretty pasty complexion and that’s so awesome, you know. He’d make a good Marcus, actually.

OH BY THE WAY, IN section of The Strait Times, which I receive because I subscribe to ST through my school thus I get ST every Monday and I get the IN section with it too, anyway, the IN section wrote this uh somewhat lame article on Twilight. XD Not trying to offend or what, but it’s true. I mean, whatever they wrote in that article could very easily be found on Wikipedia. It’s very, very basic stuff, you know.

I should have mentioned this before but dunno never got around to doing it…
Just thought its NICE for a change that unlike many movies Twilight immediately started without an introduction sequence of credits.
They only had the credits at the end of the movie.
ie. they introduced the actors names plus the images of the character they were playing as well as the production crew names after the Ending.
Usually films tend to have the credits at the beginning as well as at the ending.

@ Maria: Agreed, but actually films normally show credits twice, once for the major stars only and the second time is the final credits. For Twilight, they put both credits at the back. Not only that, they also included clips of the characters, and I think that’s really awesome.

she played it great to, she made it look so easy
Alice was just soooo perfect she defo my fave, she seem so nice
